Do we have any storage shed builder's out here on this site kinda close in the area? I need a 6 or 7X12 shed with a 5 foot opening door on the 6 foot side and a floor inside. I am willing to buy the material and pay for labor for someone who might need extra money and give me a reasonable price. I am in a small trailer park and not a lot of room. Thanks Joe

I am looking at getting a trail camera used for deer hunting to use it as a security cam for a remote location with no power, internet or anything else. The hunting type trail cams is all I can think of. Small, Camo colored to hide in a tree, made to be outdoors, runs on batteries. motion activated, IR flash for night time. Does anyone have any experience with which ones actually work decent without costing a fortune. If they spot the cam I am sure it will either get shot or stolen or both. Twice in the last 2 weeks bullets have been put thru the shed, took out a front tire and a fuel jug, one just missed the engine. it is deliberate since shell casings have been found right next to the shed. About a dozen shots so far. Would love to be able to hand the police a pic of whom they need to pick up.

OK, Where do you think the gas went?? I went out to the shed today to start getting the bike ready enough to ride to go and get the new tires mounted. After a winter of sitting in the dark and the cold in the shed all alone, it did not want to start. It turned over just fine. But no so much as a fart. Hmmmmmm Then looking at the dash I notice that there are no bars showing on the gas gauge. Now when I parked it for the winter I filled the tank to the top with fresh gas with some stabil and some seafoam in it. I even got the gas from way up nort so that it would not have alky in it. So I opened the tank filler and sure enough, completely empty. There is no sign of gas having been on the floor, and the oil level is normal. So I added a gallon of fresh gas and it started right up. Benn watching it and still no drips on the floor. I don't think it could have been the neighbors, the shed is locked, the tank is locked, and a jug of gas next to the bike is still full. Where do you suppose 5 gallons of gas could have run off to????

Sorry about any redundancy on this subject but if I don't ask, I don't know. I'm a new venture owner and trying to absorb as much info as possible. Just obtained HD mufflers with the following part #'s 65591-07 and 65592-07. I seem to remember reading something about not using the the ones ending in 07. Can someone shed some light on this for me. Is it related to having cats and if so, would I still be able to use them if I removed the cat. Thanks, Al

I had the bike up on the center stand while working on installing the trailer hitch. The bike is in a little 8x10 storage shed. It has to stay on the side stand in order to fit in the shed. I just backed it up a foot or so an put it on the center stand to work on it. At this point the back end of the bike is sticking out the door. So when I was done working for the night and went to put it back in the shed, I rocked it forward to drop off the center stand, ready to grab the front brake to not continue forward thru the wall, it cam down off of the center stand hard like it always does but this time I had not raised the side stand first..... I bet you see where this is going...... Yup as it plopped down the anti dive did not work cuz the ignition was off, there was still no air in either the front or rear suspension from winter storrage, and it tried to drop really low, but instead it landed on the side stand and caused the bike to lean hard and fast to the right. Did I mention that the right side of the bike is the side up against the wall????? Well it is. It took everything that I had to hold the bike up and not let it tip over and land against the wall, if it had leaned another millimeter, I don't think I could have stopped it. So the moral is, from now on make sure the side stand is up when dropping off the center stand.

I was 20 miles from home today and we had an fine snow and ice storm roll through about 10:30am. I'm two weeks from finishing the scoot shed for winter storage. Glad I took that 250 mile ride last weekend. Winter is coming on quick.

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE. George Phillips , an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me. Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available.." George said, "Okay." He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phoned the police again.. "Hello,I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed.. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot and killed them both, the dogs are eating them right now." and he hung up. Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed. One of the Policemen said to George , "I thought you said that you'd shot them!" George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!" ( True Story) I LOVE IT! Don't mess with old people.

This project is finally getting off the ground.I put the back blade on the tractor and began landscaping for a small shed at the camp.I picked up the materials list for a 12x12 shed with 8 ft ceiling and a gabled shingled roof. This is not about building a garage or having more storage then needed. Plan and simple 2 scoots on the other side of the creek makes me happy. No electric,no windows,no heat just storage. I got a 3 day weekend coming up quess what I'll be doing over Labor Day Weekend?

Got wet now missing, help
jkmorey posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I recently washed my 84 XVZ 1200 (just shy of 40K miles and prodominantly all original equipment) giving it a good soaking. Ever since the wash, the bike has been missing. I'm no electrical genius but I suspect I got something wet that either should not have or I have something shorting out. I thought if I got the bike good and hot she'd dry off but that has not happened. Still missing and as a result, hard to start. Prior to getting wet, she fired up immediately. Any suggestions? Please help. Thanks John-Michigan:crying: -
My weekend's project is installing a set of passing lights/fog lights on my 96 Royal Star. I've got the "Yamaha" bracket, but the fog lights were bought from Tucker Rocky, so I doubt I'll have instructions. Can someone shed some light on how to wire these lights up, I've never done something like this before. Thanks!

Dah .... what a Homer! So I put the bike into the shed, but remembering how long it ran with the gas shut off last year, making a ton of noise in the shed, I shut the petcock off first , then ran through the backyard, up into the shed. Doing a little back roll and then forward and few times to get it right in place so the doors will close. The gas runs out, so I am doing it in neutral. I check the door and I am about a 1/2" off, so back on the bike roll it back and then .... dah ..... go to start it to drive it forward. The fuel pump (?) goes ticky ticky when you start, but now its going ticky ticky ticky ticky ... wont stop! Oh no, what have I done!! Run into the house, reading through the manual, trying it again with same results .... back to the manual! Getting peed off now, until I stop and think ... hey what is that ticky ticky sound ... fuel pump ..... petcock off .... no fuel but a big dam fool. Actually looked around to see if anyone was watching my antics! What a Homer!

Hi all, I just posted my wife's Kawaski Vulcan Classic in the classifieds if anyones looking for a nice bike. She's always been up and down about riding and she need ssome work done on her teeth so she figured she'd rather have a purty smile than the bike at this point. Besides, I always have a place for her on the back of the Venture!

:95:It's plan and simple folks. This is b/s and getting old fast. I'm still waiting for the first ride of the year. 3 or 4 days of rain coming and that creek is still up. I'm not sure if I can get the scoot out to make maint day if this keeps up. I'm calling Lowes to day to get a price on materials for a 12x16 shed to build at the camp. If I'm going to load the scoots up on the 16 ft trailer and haul them out it will only be one time. Any body else still waiting on the first ride of the year with the AC running?Might have a free camping spot for a shed raising party.

I have a Bad Boy horn (plain jane). Has anyone installed one (or the Stebel Nautilis) in the Lower front fairing? I was thinking of replacing the stock horn on the lower left. I had a quick look today and it looks tight. Bike is still in the shed. Tons of snow between shed and driveway. Thanks, John

MamaMo is tearing her scooter a part in the middle of the dining room floor. My stuff has to stay in the shed. This is so unfair.

Damn I hate that. Haven't ridden the RSV for 4 weeks as it's either been to cold or too wet - or I've been too busy. Saturday did a 350kms round trip in the Subie to pick my son up from where he delivered his motorhome to the new owners. Sunday my wife and I drove 200kms in the other direction to deliver him to his fiancee, then we drove 200kms back home. Arrived around 2:30pm and the boss (wife) says, "Well, I'm going to do some more painting on the house, what are you going to do?" WHAT A QUESTION! I already had my jeans on and I was looking at my new bike boots in the corner. Quick as a flash I pulled the boots on, pulled on my vest and my jacket, went out to my bike shed and put on my helmet and gloves, put the key in the ignition of the RSV, turned her on - lights on and a brrrrrrrrrrrrrr of the fuel pump etc. Choke out, hit starter button. Cranked 3 or 4 times, THEN DIED. Ran out of crank, oomph and all the other things it needed to start. Been sitting too long. Off with the seat, off with the negative cable, on with the charger - and 4 hours later lots of power. But- it's now dark and too damned cold to do anything. So, I put it back together, went inside and had a couple of beers. Oh well, some other day maybe? Damn I hate that!
