You know how projects that start out simple turn into something else? Well I seem to always make that happen. I decided this winter I would make a smoker out of 2 air compressor tanks. I had a Harbor Freight trailer already so I thought why not make it mobile. So every now and then I would work on it and do a little more each time. I pretty much had it all done, and I decided it would get kind of hot out in the sun, so I better have some shade. So today I made a quick mount for an umbrella. Then while I was doing some baked potatoes on the grill I figured I better make a quick table for my soda (no beer for me). So I am pretty much done with the mods, until the next time I use it and think of something else. Heres a few random pics. I think it turned out pretty good.

Someone has turned up the heat with a vengence, 102F (39C) in the shade today on our deck. I am not complaining, not after our long wet winter.

Well, my lovely bride and I took yesterday off to spend a day on the bike (affectionately known as Betty). We did about 250 miles up PA 74, over Blue Mountain to Shade Mountain Winery near Selinsgrove. BEAUTIFUL ride! PA 74 over the mountain has a lot of switch backs and a fantastic view at the top. Great wine at Shade Mountain (we liked the Great White best). This would be a great ride for PA Venturers. Anyway, we got home and I told Brenda we did about 250 miles. She said, "then I think my butts limit is about 245 miles." We spent most of 8 hours on the bike so I think she did OK. Her test is in two weeks when on Saturday we will do about 75 miles on the PA ride. Then the next day its 200 miles to Seneca Rocks followed by 200 miles back the next day. I hope her sitter can do 500 miles over three days! PA VentureRiders - we need to do a similar ride over Blue Mountain in the spring!

Have you ever been out riding and rode through one of those cool moist shady spots. You can instantly feel the temp drop 15 - 20 degrees and it feels so refreshing on a hot day. Thats the way it is at our camp. I sat in the front yard beside the porch and watched the Sun rise at 4:00 pm. The trees across the road cause an early sunset at around 7:30. I'm re thinking my plan to cut some of those shade trees before replacing the old house. I worked outside on the scoot all day in the shade very nice.We have moss growing all around the house instead of grass. I can't take the heat so this is a needed change. The evening sun turns our house into a bake oven in the afternoons. I guess you will find me at the camp.:cool10: MamaMo says she gets cold easy. Funny thing she came in Sunday evening laid down and sleep for 12 hours.:rotf:
