Hope everyone is doing well! With the bad weather around the corner I am getting ready to take the bike in the garage and fixing it over the winter. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the following product: 420 Series Single Shock http://www.cyclepages.com/ProductGroupDisp.aspx?ProductGroupID=4000199 They call it Progressive Suspension. I am by far an expert on this so forgive the ridiculous questions...but they state "420 Series high-performance shocks eliminate the need for a remote reservoir by utilizing an internal nitrogen bladder" Does this have to do with the Descicant container? What would be an advantage, if any, in using such a shock as a replacement? Is it worth the price or getting a stock used one on eBay? I like replacing with new parts when possible, even if a little more expensive. It states that it fits the XVZ12/13 Royale. Thanks in advance!

I have a 2010 Ford Escape with 63k on the odometer. The AC quit working. I took it to the dealer and he gave me a quote for $3500! Said the system was full of debris and they need to change everything in it. I called Ford and asked for some good will on this repair. I have always owned Rangers and the F series trucks. We will see how well Ford stands behind its product. Happy Friday the 13th.

To any of you Trekies out there... In which series / episode did they go back to the original series - actually use OLD footage and insert themselves into the film to do whatever it was they were going to do? I just remember thinking how well they did it. Craigr

D. H. Lawrence's book. Not a bike related problem but I guess you are my only hope as I have tried every other avenue I can think of. I know how you get things sorted for our Ventures, so... Here goes: During the late 1970's and early 1980's the village I live in was used to film a four part mini series based on the book 'Sons and Lovers' by D.H. Lawrence. It was only ever shown in the UK once and that was shortly after completion, the rights etc were then passed over to Masterpiece Theatre over in the States and has been shown several times over there by them. Our village and people (including dogs) were used for the series and there are several local stories about the film, it is part of the fokelore of the area. But there is not a copy available in the UK. Just wondered if you good people out there knew where I could get hold of a copy of the series if indeed it exists.. Many thanks. Old Miner. Hope I have not put it in the wrong place. There are other versions, there is a film starring Vanessa Redgrave, and a more recent one starring Sarah Lancashire. There are other versions, most are readily available. Mini series of four episodes a joint venture between the BBC and Masterpiece Theatre: Sons and Lovers (D.H. Lawrence). 1981 15 May 1983 (USA) First Shown Trevor Griffiths adaptation. Starring: Eileen Atkins Tom Bell

SUNSHADE for a Garmin 2600-2700 series GPS?

From the sales rep with the works shocks with respect to what is available for the RSV: "XVZ13 Royal Star Venture 99up Unit Rear 10.00 OAL (stock length) Durasport Series w/single rate spring and threaded pre-load @ [Price omitted by me for sake of discussion]. Ultrasport series w/single rate spring, 16 position adjustable rebound damping and threaded pre-load @ [Price omitted by me for sake of discussion] . ...." So, my question is for those of you that either: 1) have the works shock and would like to give me your thoughts on which one you chose and why you picked the way you did 2) Know a little something about these things and have an opinion on which one would be better and why. The "WHY" here is really what I am interested in since this will help me make an informed decision about which one to go with. Thanks for you time folks!!

I think I'm on the right track here but want to the check. Looks like I might be in the market for a TCI for my '84. From the info I am looking at I know that the 26 series will only work on an '83. Figures. I just happen to have a good working 26H in my parts storage. The bike starts and idles very well with that one plugged in but the advance settings are different. The 41 series will work in all 1200 and 1300 models 1984 thru 1987 from my cross reference info. As for the 41R-82305-11-00, or 10-00, or 09-00 and such that is just the minor changes from year to year from the makers right? I'm seeing TCI's with labels that only show 41R-10 or 41R-11. What is the info on that desigination? Just trying to be sure of what I'm buying. Anybody want to do some horse trading for a 26H? Mike

Need advice on changing the tires on my '08 Venture. I've seen on the website that the Avon tires seem to be the best. I would like some advice on what size and series would be best. Is it true that putting a smaller tire on the front helps with handling?

I've been hearing a lot about the series and finally got to see an episode tonight. So far, its nothing like I've seen on the war before. I've watched a lot of WWII shows on the history channel, but this really has a different focus. It's format is very similar to the "Civil War" series a few years ago, and it really draws you in. Any Thoughts?
