Here is the article which was recently discussed here regarding the use of car tires on a motorcycle. Though it did cause some of the typical bickering, I know that some were not able to read it. Please take it for what it is, an opinion. You don't have to agree with it but part of a discussion forum is actually....discussion. http://www.venturerider.org/darkside/darkside.pdf Thanks to Rick Butler for sending me the article. Remember folks. If your mind is already made up then that is fine but those whose minds are NOT made up certainly deserve to hear both sides of the issue.

Hi Folks, Partshark say we will not get stuck with the extra charges UPS is so famous for when sending to Canada. Any Ontario folk have any experience with them? Was it as stated?

I am moving along here slowly checking all the posts seeing what improvements and others ideas are showing. I am at the point of doing the water and oil sensors install. So what I have done is purchase an adapter for the oil (Sensor Adapter Oil Water Pressure Temp M20x1.5 -1/8 NPT from EBay) now while looking around I noticed that there are sending units out there that may work without moving the sending unit somewhere else and I'm looking for some assistance. I have the Auto Meter 1 1/2 electric gauge set which has an electric 100 psi oil gauge with that big sending unit. Now I have found what I think may work as a replacement sending unit but I have a question about it. The units are made by Standard Tru-Tech I also found a cross reference from Mercury Marine which shown below (and here is where my question comes in) that the 0-80 psi sending unit (5 bar) and the 0-100 (7 bar) there is no difference. 0-80 psi.........0-100 psi (5-Bar)...........(7-Bar) psi ohms...... psi ohms 0 240............ 0 240 40 103......... 40 103 80 33.5........ 100 33.5 Does this hold true with all oil pressure sensors or is it gauge specific? I have attached a photo of the sensor style I would like to use because it would fit I believe with no issues and the chart (pdf) I got this info from.

Well I received my F4 +2 and VERY satisfied with looks and function. One problem was as I was installing,VERY CAREFULLY,I noticed a very very small scratch just above the vent. I could not see it at all from the riders seat but off the bike and looking thru towards the sun I could see it. Well I immediadely called F4 and talked to Don. Without ANY questions he said please let me send another one immediately,I said no let me ride it first and see if it bothers me so he said OK BUT I want to discount it to you if you keep it. Well I never could see the scratch riding it so my mind started playing tricks on me and I started worrying about it and called to get him to send another. No questions asked he is sending another and paying the freight. Luckily I have a friend that rides a GL1800 and he called Don at F4 to see if he could just buy mine instead of me sending it back to F4 so Don at F4 made him a great deal on it and all has worked out great...Purpose of this is to give Kudos to a well run company with GREAT customer service.

Hey folks- I purchased a roof cargo box from a gentleman today. It is near I30 and Beltline in Garland, Texas. I would like to impose on someone to pick it up and store it for me for a couple weeks. It is 55" by 35" by 15" tall. It weighs about 60 lbs. I am not in a particular hurry on this. It is going to be the basis for a cargo trailer. I am sending him a check tomorrow for a deposit. Once I figure out how to get it to San Antonio, I will send him the balance. Thanks for looking JB

Oy. A brief moment of carelessness and I snapped the end of my tach needle off. I already had it removed from the tach shaft (the hardest part), too. Does anybody have a nonfunctional tach (or speedometer, for that matter) they don't mind either sharing the whole thing with me or sending me the needle from? It's kind of a pain to pop off but it will come with a little coaxing. I will later reveal my project if I can score a new needle.

A set of stock seats for a 97 RSTC. I am sending mine to my cousin in Missouri to be recovered and have gel pads inserted into them. I would like to not be out of riding for 2 weeks if at all possible. I really don't care the condition. Don't know if anyone would be willing but it is worth asking. I am in NE Ga and am sending my seats out around next monday. Thanks for looking.

Final drive? How much should there be if any? I just finished changing the oil in the final drive ,while the bike is on the center stand I decided to shake some stuff around, there is a small but noticeable amount of side play in the final drive halves, I need to know if its normal, abby-normal or ? Question #2 I don't think that the cooling fan is working, If I hook it direct to a battery and the fan runs then I guess I can figure that the fan is good but a sending unit or something else is bad, Is this sending unit up under the top of the fairing behind the head light? Thanks

While we're thanking people for stuff related to the International, I want to thank our dear friends Aussie Annie and Quickstep for sending stuff for the raffle. I got first pick. (First out of the "fish bowl" - wasn't even paying attention yet - they had to nudge me.) Got myself a nifty 'roo patch. Irene picked the red shirt. Thanks a million for sending 'em!

So I checked out Pinwall/eBay to no avail. I'm trying to find a replacement fuel sending unit for my 1997 RS. I don't have a gauge, just a dummy light...and when it comes to gas... I'm a dummy. (Just ask my wife how many times I've run out of gas less than 1/2 mile from the house.) I can't find the stupid sending unit without paying $70 for it... (add cheap to being a gas dummy) Anyone know where I can find one?

Several weeks ago, there was a post in the joke section I think. It was about how as a nation we are doing things backwards by sending young people to war when we should be sending "cranky old men". If anyone remembers this, please send me a PM, or post the link on here. I thought I had saved it, but can't find it and have a couple of buddies I want to send it to. Thanks Don H.
