I'm seriously thinking about buying a trailer to use on our 4000 mile trip we have planned for September. I have a question that keeps coming to my mind that is keeping me from going ahead and pulling the trigger to buy one. Q. How the heck do you keep the thing secure if you leave it at the hotel while you do a day ride? Surely some of you have some jazzy ways to secure it so it will still be there when you get back to the hotel. I'd be on fire if I spent good money for a trailer and it got stolen while I was on my trip. Please advise.

Sorry, not picture but let me describe. On my 84 that I am working on there is a rubber flap about an inch square on the left side of the motor right about where the shifter is. It covers a hole that obviously leaked when by friend laid this bike down (oil?). Anyway, what is this and how secure is this little flap suppose to be? It does not seem very secure and I am trying to do some cleaning without getting fluid in it. Thanks, Mark

Hi folks, looking fo some ideas on how to secure my venture in the back of a big u-haul. I will not have time to ride it up to the northeast, but I am drivinga big u-haul up. There is no tie-downs on the floor to secure to, there is tie-downs on the sides but I don't trust em. Seen a few pictures of a ride-on platform that I could put in the back, but they are pretty expensive. any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

With only 4,000 Km on my Venture, I had battery issues which caused me to require bump starting if there was a hill or a couple of willing BC Ferry workers to push the beast, or a jump start, which requires taking off the driver seat. What a pain THAT is! Has anyone come up with an alternative to the awkward nuts that secure the seat? My dealer replaced the battery, so I may not need to remove the seat for a while, but it would be handy to have an alternative for any future needs. Thanks for any help.

Hey Guys! Oh and ladies! The guy could not get the money for ole Blu so I get to keep it! I've been riding and getting used to the bike but one thing still drives me nuts. Every bump I hit causes rattles from the front fairing. I have tried to tighten and secure everything but it is still there. Any insight from the pros? I found that it is much more fun to change the plugs on my gen 1 then it is on a royal touring. Whew!

On my '07 Midnight Venture, one of the screws, which attaches the Audio Head unit (which is mounted on the handlebars) has fallen out and is lost. The other screw is still there, so the audio control unit sort of pivots now. But, I figure that it would be best to have both of them where they belong. I believe that there are just the two screws which secure that unit from below. Does anyone know what that part number is please? I might as well have the shop replace it under warranty when I have the bike in there this next week for service. Thanks guys! Pete.

Just have a ? about placing the scoot at an angle while trailering ? I have an opportunity to buy an enclosed trailer at a deal . It's 7 x14 Continental V-nose , tandem axle enclosed . I want to haul the scoot and BEERCART within it . I can get both inside , but both are at an angle . Weight distribution is not an issue ! It's only that I cannot place the scoot and cart side by side as the total combined width's of both are greater than the inside trailer width . The seller allowed me to bring the trailer home to see if they will both fit . As I said , I can get both inside . The scoot when placed inside is about 10-15 degrees off of true forward . It already has track tie-downs and wheels chocks . I would only have to move the one wheel chock to reposition it for the scoot . Of course I would I would extra tie-down straps to secure scoot as it'sin an angle because of braking and curves . It's a nice trailer and at a good price , so I need to know ASAP to secure the sale . TIA , BEER30

Has anyone ever had the wiring harness replaced on their RSV? The Yama dealer is replacing a sub harness and may have to replace the entire harness. I'm not real secure with this. Just seems like it may cause more problems than what I'm having already. Glenn

As I have never trailered my RSMV, my question is where do you place the tie downs on the front of the bike? I have a 5x10 and my wife is wanting to trailer it a distance then spend the weekend riding around the area. (location unknown to date) I have good secure places on the trailer but I have not quite figured out where to place the straps to hold the front. I have vents attached to the front engine guards so I can not tie it there. Any help will be appreciated.
