I have a new to me 1983 venture that i just got running after a complete carborator cleaning. Now the starter seams like there is not enough power in the battery to turn it over, but this is the same battery that i use on my other 1983 venture and it starts it fine. It almost seams as if it might be something in the starter, not sure if brushes would cause this kind of problem. I also have a high amp batter charger with a start option, that i tried, but it still cranked very slow then it will start. Does anyone have any ideas where i should start. Thanks Dave

I have reviewed the site on the fixing of the stock seat. (2001 RSV recently purchased) It mentions that the pull through fasteners are delicate and one has to be careful with them. Can you elaborate on how you pulled them through and how the connection with the material was made? In addition where can one acquire these fasteners in the event of an oops. Thanks Riding season for us in Manitoba is coming to a close and it is time to doing some repairs on the seat as it is separating at the seams for some reason.

Does anyone know where the idel screw is on my 87 VR. I have looked for it and I am having trouble finding it. Is it a thumb screw like in the manual or a slotted screw? Also ,how would I be sure all 4 cylenders are firing? Will it run on 3 cylinders without notice except loss of power? The reason I ask is the scoot sat up for 6 years before I woke it up and seams to run smooth but I dont know if all cylinders are fireing and idels so low it cuts off when throttle grip is at idel position. Any help would be great. Thanks!!

OK, received a message from a member about using Pledge and Pam to deal with the (love bug) removal, and can`t get back in touch with him, as he is in East Texas on a ride, any way, I use Pledge on my bike, but what about and how or when do you use the Pam?? seams like it would make an oily mess.... After riding in the snow in Montana in June, I noticed my Gerbing jacket had a split seam under one arm. I knew others had the same issue and Gerbing fixed the problem so I wasn't worried. Should have been. Though the jacket had relatively few hours of use, it was out of warranty and they refused to fix the problem. Please understand. If I had mistreated the jacket, I would feel differently. My observation led me to believe that the seam around the arms on the inside of the jacket is very poorly done. This is a quality control issue and Gerbing should take care of it. I had a seamstress friend take care of it. She also stitched the other arm to prevent it from coming apart as well. If you have a Gerbing jacket, check out those seams. The material has a tendancy to fray once the seams parts. If I had it to over again, I think I would be looking for something besides Gerbing.
