I have some minor scratches on my helmet visor that I'd like to try to polish out. Does anybody know what might work? I'd like to try before I buy a replacement, so I wanna keep it cheap. Seems I remember hearing somebody say they used toothpaste on hard plastic, but I'm a little afraid it would be too abrasive and leave it scratched worse. Any thoughts? Thanks. Bert

Ok, I pulled the forks. I have not pulled them apart yet. waiting on new seals and spring kit. I did notice some very faint, very had to see scratches just above the dust cover.is this normal? Can they be polished out? Or just leave well enough alone?

Neighbor is in the biz of selling different vehicles types includes bikes. From most of my talks with him alot of what he sells are bank repos. I can say he is (or was) handling a sell of a former colts player recently so not of it is repo's. He has a stock '04 Midnight w/ 17k and is asked if I thought 7k is a fair asking price. I haven't seen it and plan on it this week, but from what he says it is in good shape nothing major and any surface scratches can be buffed out. To me, I think it seems like a fair price. With this economy, not sure if it will move that quickly though. I just checked kbb and it shows retail $9210 & trade in $6440. Not sure what nada or black book lists it for.

Ok, I got a fairing to use temporary(midnight fairing on a gray bike, HMMMMM?), so I can fix and paint the boo-boos on my gray RSV fairing (Why do my bikes always seem to take on the Johnny Cash's one piece at a time Cadillac look? ). Some of the scratches are kinda deep, so I'm wondering what sand paper to use and will conventional body filler (aka Bondo) stick to ABS? Will "rattle can" primer work, or is there something special needed for ABS? Guess I gotta be real careful of the pin-stripes, 'cause I bet Yammie is REAL proud of those!!! Once I get the scratches out, I guess there is no hope a Stealership will give up the paint codes, Huh?

This is a first for me. The wind blew the bike over today. I guess the cover acted like a sail. There are small dents on the underside of the crash bars, the passing lamp has a very small dent but no scratches, the rght side of the fairing has some scratches and the right engine guard looks like it's bent up about a half inch. The lower is just out of allign now but not a real problem. I guess I got out of it ok. Questions, is the fairing the same color all the way through so that I could just buff the minor scratches out without repainting ('07 RSMV) and how hard would it be to bend the engine guard back the half inch? THIS SUCKS!!!!!

If anyone is interested in purchasing OEM exhaust please let me know. I figure I would ask you all before posting them on eBay. I used the exhaust for my 600 mile break in, then replaced them with RoadHouse slip-on's. They are in mint condition (no scratches, etc). After a recent trip to Chattanooga with 19 Harleys, I ended up replacing my 08 Venture with an 09 Street Glide. Great bike!!

What is the best way, and what is the best product to use, to buff out light scratches on the trunk and side bags, etc. Never had to do this until now and don't want a product that's going to harm the paint or finish (for plastic). Thanks in advance.

To work on the 99. Today was a nice day temps in the low 80's with a mist rain. It made for a nice evening to work on the 99. We got the right saddle bag open and latch freed up. A little duct tape ( An old muffinman trick) patched the busted hole in the saddlebag. Split the fairing and got the driving lights repaired and fixed the audio system. WOO HOO we have tunes cb,radio, intercom and everything. The fairing has major scratches with the right side screw supports busted. A little plastic wire tie work should hold it. All thats left to do is adj the headlight beam. It's pointing at the moon. Change oil & filter, check the scoot for loose bolts, move the xm radio and gps from the 89. If all goes well we might bring this thing to vogel.
