Does anyone have any experience with Mastertech Motorsports in San Antonio, Tx? I ask because I need a carb sync and they offered to do the sync for $65. Seemed reasonable and the gentleman I spoke with seemed to know alot about the VR. Any and all comments are welcome.

I want to have some patches sewn on our vests, but do not want to have the pockets sewn shut. Anyone know where I can find someone in the San Antonio area that might possess such skills?

I have a Tour Classic that I bought with the windshield missing. I have some parts here but darned if I can figure out how it mounts and what else I need. The windshileds that I see for sale (here for example: http://houston.craigslist.org/for/2638821004.html ) don't look anything like the diagrams on bikebandit (here: http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/2001-yamaha-xvz1300ltn-royal-star-tour-deluxe/o/m10192#sch517898 ). All three posts advertising a 1996-2001 Royal Star windshiled look like the craiglist one above. Can anyone look at these diagrams and enlighten me as to what the difference is? Can someone take a closeup picture of their windshield so I can see? I actually have some of the parts like in the Craigslist link above, but it seems too narrow to go on the factory mounts (items 18 & 19 on Bikebandit link) that are on the bike. I have been keeping my eye out for a year proper Royal Star in San Diego to look at, but none so far. Also, if there is anyone in San Diego with a 96=01 Royal Star non-Venture with the windshield, can I take a look at your bike? Thanks, Tim

This for any of my friends who live in San Antonio, I need a head gasket and one of the San Antonio Yamaha dealerships has one, but they only ship UPS. And I need one ASAP and since tomorrow is Friday, it probably won't get here until the next week since they don't work on Saturday. However so I was wondering if I could get one of my friends in San Antonio to pick it up and stick it in a USPS Express Mail Flat Rate envelope and mail it to me. The gasket will already be paid for, so if I can get it in the mail before noon, I should have it by Saturday. And I'll pay you via PayPal, check, it's your preference. So do I have a volunteer? I'll need to contact you with final details in the morning. Call me tonight or in the morning if you can help me. Thanks, Rick Butler (aka Butt Butler) 972-442-9840 Home 214-926-3905 Cell 1304 Taos Lane Wylie, TX 75098

This old sea dog is coming ashore in San Francisco for the weekend June 24 - 26. I'm going to be docked in the Fisherman's Warf area. I'm looking to meet some of the members from the area. I'm thinking of Sunday, because I'm hoping to make it to Harbor Freight Saturday, but I'm very flexable. I know the area a little bit, I can make my way to Hooters or Bubba Gumps, maybe even a place in China town. PM me if you want to set something up.

Heading up to Branson MO on Friday...really don't like the traffic going through Austin. Is it worth taking the toll road that goes around Austin? Does anyone know how much it would cost if you got on the first opportunity (from San Antonio) and staying on all the way to where it joins up again with I35? we will be riding the bike, pulling a trailer. appreciate any help you can offer.

Sometimes we Saskatchewan people feel we get lost in the middle of the continent with thousands of people flying over us everyday. No one stops in to see what we are all about. Here is a good article fron the San Franciso Examiner. Anyone wants to work, if ya got a trade we can probably get you to work quickly, there is a shortage of trained people. http://www.sfexaminer.com/news/2010/11/saskatchew-where-canadas-hinterland-booming Brian

Looks like I'll be going out to San Francisco the 2nd & 3rd week of December for work. I'm thinking about renting a bike for 2 days. Where should I ride it to ? I'd like to see some rural coastline, maybe Yosemite or Sequoia ? I'd love to see some of those Giant trees they have out there, are they Redwoods or Sequoia's?

Did I meet your Brother in Flint Mi. today? Went into a local dive today to get some tacos to take home (best REAL Tacos in the area) and a guy came in while I was ordering. I was wearing my VentureRiders.org tee shirt. When we both got done ordering he came up to me and said he was just down in San Antonio visiting his brother and his Brother belongs to the VentureRiders.org and has a tee shirt just like mine. We talked for awhile about bikes and how Flint has went to h**l and how we both want to move south. When our orders came up and I was leaving I noticed he was wearing a tee shirt from a Harley dealer in San Antonio. He rides a 1200 Sportster. So was just wondering who his brother might be. And BEFORE you say it Squidy, I know he's not your Brother.

Hi Guys! I'm headed out to San Antonio, TX this coming weekend for business. Unfortunately, I can't make it a ride this time, but I will be there a couple of days early during the Forth of July weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding things to see or do in the area? Good, clean fun type stuff. I hate to go someplace new, and miss out on opportunities to see cool sites, events, etc. I figure that for the Forth of July, there must be some special celebrations, fireworks, etc. going on. So far, The River Walk is in the plans, but I need some more ideas for Saturday & Sunday. Pete.

I know we have a few (or many) members in Texas, but Texas is a big place. I may need some Venture Rider assistance in the San Antonio area. Just wanted to reach out and see who is there. It would involve meeting someone at the Bass Pro Shop near I-10W and Loop 1604 and then dropping a package in the mail to me. I may be able to get the owner to ship to me, and the deal may not happen, I'm just trying to be prepared. Thanks, James

I've ordered several sets of tires from Southwest Moto Tire over the years and have always been pleased with the price and the service. In anticipation of needing a new set before our trip this summer I thought I would order a set while I'm here in San Diego so I'd have them ready. Ordered yesterday morning and they arrived this afternoon. Here's a pic of me hauling them over to my trailer.

I met Gary N. for a ride up the coast yesterday. The weather was good am traffic not too bad for the area. A stop at Mt. Solodad provided a good view of the coast and general area. Stopped for lunch and had a good panni sandwich at a coffee shop I knew of in Carlsbad. Up to San Onofre campground and pound down hwy 5 home. Thanks for a great day Gary. Rod

We left Phoenix this morning and pulled into San Diego this afternoon. Great trip across the desert on I-8. I've never seen such amazing landscape. Surprised to see snow at the 4000 foot elevation as we crossed the last mountain range. Weather here is beautiful today.

My Son is having his Graduation from the Marines in San Diego Ca. end of this Month. We will be driving out there To see him Graduate, then bring him home before he ships out. The Marine Base is next door to the San Diego Int'l Airport off of I-5. We would like to know if anyone knows a good Motel or Hotel close by? One that is not in a bad area? We will be there for about 3-4 days. Looking forward to seeing my young Marine. He called tonight for the first time since he's been out there, sure was nice hearing from him. Looking forward to that bear hug. Thanks

In about 10 minutes I will be driving to the airport to catch a flight to San Diego. My oldest son just finished college and is getting married to a wonderful young lady. I am very proud of him. Wish me (and him) luck as I trek across the country. Any VR.ORG members in the San Diego area want to get together for a beer while I'm there? Should I bring my Carbtune? Earl and Jean
