RSTD is a 06 with 13K, my RSV is a 99 with 56K. Got the RSV thinking I could get the wife to ride, but to no avail. Loved the engine so I found a RSTD midnight instead. Love it! Just sold my 03 Honda Sabre to an Afgan Vet. He's very happy now. It's a good bike too. Served me well. Anybody need a 99 RSV in great shape in Virginia?

Hi guys and gals, Just added a 99 Venture with 55k to my Honda 1100 Sabre, which I love, but the Venture is popping on decel and has bad off-throttle responce so I think a rejet (cleanning at a minimum) is needed. Play around with Sabre jetting all the time so just need pointed in the right direction. Just ordered a service manual on CD. Came with new Metzlers, battery, clutch so she should be ready to go. Anything else I might need to check with this many miles? Valve adjustment? Thanks in advance. Oh ya, what's a decent driver backrest for cheap?

I have owned this Venture for only about 10 months now and I love the bike. One thing I noticed was that my Honda Sabre was more fun to ride around town than the Venture but it was only a little quicker and more nimble Well I sold the Sabre and bought a CBR1100xx which I have been riding for about a month. A couple of days ago I pulled out the Venture to run it around a little because it had been setting. OMG!.....It was scary! It felt like a bus (a big yellow one). Now I don't need it to respond or handle like the Blackbird but it was a job just getting it to corner and stop. So: Is there some way to get the brakes to be more responsive? Is there some way to lower it an inch or two on both ends? Thanks; please don't flame me because I want more. Because I'm sure this bike will do more. And NO I don't want another bike. Rich

I have a question for the wise ones here. I know it is not Venture related, but does anyone here know anything about the 1982 Honda V-45 Sabre? We are still looking to upgrade my 16 year old's bike. There is one listed at a dealer in Yankton for $1500.00 with only 13,000 miles on it. Pictures make it look pretty good. Any help would be appreciated. Do you folks think that a jump from 250 to 750 is too much? http://www.yanktonmotorsports.com/images/yanktonmotorsports/VP1921574_1_large.jpg Thanks, Dave

next week I get my carbs rebuilt and back tire put on.... then do regular fluid maintenance, rerun a few wires for brakes and turn signals, then at least I can ride a little... then next month I will get my new progress fork springs. I will also get new brake pads next week. This bike sat up for 7 years in a barn before I got it so I didnt really expect the carbs to come clean but was sure hoping so... at least this way I know they will be all they can be. In the mean time my honda v65 sabre will be getting a new fairing. I found an orignal hondaline fairing that orignally came on a sabre my same color. Cant wait for all of it to come together.

I have a 1984 v65 sabre as well as my 1983 venture. My Sabre runs good but here is the problem: when it is cold it shifts just fine after I ride it and get it warmed up good it gets hard to shift. I also notice that even when I am stopped and go from neutral to 1st it, to me, has a pretty good "clunk". I am used to hearing a little something but this just seems harder than normal. I realize that this is a honda issue and this is a yamaha venture forum but most of the people here seem nicer than most forums elsewhere so please forgive me on this one... I would appreciate any feedback though. On a better note my venture is coming along, getting ready to put fork seals in and redo some wiring.

Now that I have my RSV for almost 3 weeks and about 150 miles on her, I know nothing about the equipment to be able to use the intercom system. The after-market unit that we used on my Sabre worked OK under 25mph. But really is totally useless unless my wife & I rode a tandem bicycle!
