I sold my 2006 GL1800 to a guy that flew in from Wichita KS to Atlanta and rode it home. I rode it for 2 yrs and put 24k miles on it and sold it for $700 less than I paid for it. Not a bad deal! I still have the '97 RSTC and I might be looking for a sport touring bike like a Kawi Concours 14 in the future.

Hello everyone. I'm rolling a 96 RSTC and have started the process of making it mine. I have already picked up a set of Jardine forward controls from a fellow member gunkylump. Next on the list of parts is I'm looking for a set of 2-2-1s (or 4-2-2s depending on how you look at it). I believe the 97 RSTD came with these stock but the closet set I can find is from a 2001 RS Venture. Can anyone answer the question on if these would be a fit or not. I saw a previous thread, from 2009, where pegscraper said the 2-2-1s should bolt right on but I am wondering if anyone has done this and has any lessons learned. Also, if anyone has a set that they are looking to sell, let me know and maybe we can strike a deal. Thanks.

A buddy of mine just got a Vulcan Nomad and it came with Air Lite Lower Engine Guards. Looks like a great idea but according to their website they don't make them for my RSTC. Here is their website: http://airlite.ca/index.php So is there a company that makes them for my bike or would I need to have something custom made? Its getting cold and these make sense to me! Thanks!

A guy on my STAR forum has a black & white 1998 RSTC (nice looking, added Venture package). He is lookin for wide white walls, he is only finding Dunlop 404 www and Brigstone www. (I think the sizes are: front 150/80/16 and rear 150/90/15) Anyone know of more choices to fit that bike? Thanks, Mike G in SC

I'm looking for a set of stock grips for my '96 RSTC. The bike came with Kury ISO's and I'm of the belief that they were/are a contributing factor in the problems I was having with my carpal affected hands while riding it home this past weekend. It's kinda curious as I have ISO's on my 650 and don't have as much trouble with them as I did with the grips on the RSTC. Also, the bike came with the wind deflectors. Do I have to pull them to mount the Baron Big Bar Engine guard on the bike??? Any and all help greatly appreciated!

To all the RSTC riders out there! There has been a couple threads on this forum recently regarding patches for the RSTD's. Well, I've been putting in a few words for the RSTC owers out there as I'm about to become one, owner of a RSTC that is! End result is that Golf&Venture is willing to do up designs for the RSTCs. So far I'm the only one on the thread that "has" a RSTC so I'm the only one asking for a Tour Classic patch. Anyone else interested There are two designs, the STAR patch with ROYAL STAR on top, the Yamaha star in the middle, and for our bikes TOUR CLASSIC underneath. The M/C patch would be basically the same but with a TC between the RS and TC. You can see mock-ups of the RSTD M/C patch and STAR patches on the other thread. We can get the colors we want for the lettering and can also decide on which colors we want for the bike on the M/C patch. Also 4 sizes can be available, basically the same as the Venture patches that are currently being ordered and distributed on the site. ANY TAKERS???? The thread you'll find the mock-ups on is "RSTD possible patch design" . Just join the other thread and let G&V know there's more of us out there that want these!!

Just posted an ad in the classified for the original equipment leather saddlebags off my RSTC. Added Venture bags to the bike so don't need the leather ones any more. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2546

Hello, I have a 1996 RSTC and I was wondering if there is any adjusting that I can do on the suspension. I have always felt that the front of my bike bounces too much going over bumps even at low speeds and today after the bike fell I took it for a test ride and it seemed to me that it was bouncing an awful lot in the rear also. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bob

I recently aquired a 1996 RSTC and have a couple of questions. 1. Did the '96 RSTC come with the lower cowling? 2. Anyone know where I can aquire a set? Mine does not have them and I would like to add them. Any advise appreiciated, also I get quite a bit of wind noise and buffeting at highway speeds do the lower wind deflectors help with this? Jim
