I did a 750 mile ride this weekend to see what issues might come up in preparation for my 2300 trip to Baton Rouge. Once again, i am reminded how comfortable these bikes are. The ride was Flawless although my mileage isnt where i expect it to be. With 1 remaining bar on the fuel gauge i have only gone about 110 miles. But other than everything is great with the bike. After an oil change and air filter change i will be ready for my 2300 trip to Baton Rouge. I havnt finalized my route but on my return ride, i am considering riding up to Memphis before coming home. One of my stops is going to be Arches monument in Utah. Any ideas on must see sights along that route (Memphis to Utah)?

Well, I have my cross country trip planned out. It goes as follows: Leaving San Jose, with overnight stops in Ely,NV- Montrose,CO - Dodge City, KS - Clarksville,AK - Baton Rouge, LA Return - Baton Rouge - Memphis - Nashville - Fort Smith, AK, Amarillo,Tx - Santa Fe,NM - Kayenta,UT - Las Vegas - Taft(to see my son) - San Jose. This is My Plan, subject to change. I will leave May 11 and return home on May 29th. My plan is to camp with an occasional hotel room mixed in. I want the outdoor experience. If any members have a spot i could camp out along the way that would be great to share some conversation(just PM me). Any ideas of any must see places along the way that would also be appreciated. Counting the days!

This is Lyle Johnson's (BRScooter) son. We just went through a devastating hurricane here in Baton Rouge. He had a huge pecan tree fall on his living room roof while he was in the room. However, the tree damaged the exterior of the residence but it did not come through the roof. Nearly 100% of Baton Rouge is without power and he most likely will not have lights for 3 to 4 weeks. He & all of his family are safe, but hot & tired. As soon as he gets back online, he will be back communicating with ya'll.
