Any one know if the handlebar riser on a 2nd gen is a one piece or two piece item? I do not see any appearance of it being a stud threaded into the upper body, if it is it has to be countersunk I need to either turn down the stud on the riser or drill out the hole on the 1st gen triple trees I am using on the Hybrid project in order to get the 2nd gen bars on the 1st gen triple tree. Only about 0.030" difference, but it is a non-standard hole size in the 2nd gen triple tree, 0.550". There is enough shaft size that it could be turned down to fit and not get into the threads on shaft. A 9/16 (0.562) drill will work to open up triple tree if I put some shim stock I have around riser shaft. Gary

My wife would like to install a set of risers on her 2006 vstar1100 custom. Barrons has a set that gives 2" pull back without a rise that might work. It looks like all the control lines will still be usable. Anybody have any other suggestions. I put a set of Motorcycle Larry riser/triple clamps on my fjr and they worked great but can't seem to see anything for the 1100 there. If you have a riser in mind but it might need longer cables please let me know about them as well just warn me I will need longer cables. I think 2 inchs back and an inch or so up would be about right. Al

The are shorter than stock bars but wider as well which i did like. i wanted them pulled back more and here they are with 99 venture risers. i think i may try the riser spacers to give 1 more inch of riser and 1 inch of pull back. So far i like it.

I bought a set of Venture risers from Pinwall to put on my 96 RSTC. I have the bars off and the lower nut from the old risers. I can't seem to get the old riser off. I've tried to tap it from the bottom with a block of wood and hammer. And I also tried to turn it with a socket in the riser where the bars go. It won't budge. Any ideas?

Hi there Peoples: I am wondering if anyone has installed the J&P Cycles riser and tach combo one is part # ZZ50825 I do believe its a 4" rise with a 1 1/2" pull back and the tach bolts on the top of handle bar keeper. I'm concerned that there may not be enough room for the tach with the fairing and all. Has anyone done this type of tach as an up grade.. Any help would be greatly appriciated..

How do I get at the handle bars to adjust. I see an allen screw in the front of the instrument pannel and two bolt on the rear(tank side). If I take these out will the instrument panel come off so I can adjust the bars? Also, can I place a 1" riser without changing cables? Thanks for any advise. Mark

Pardon me if this question has been answered before, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I have a 2003 RSV. I am 6' 6" tall and have a problem with the handlebars hitting my knees when I'm in a slow-speed full-lock turn. Actually, it's the brake and clutch levers that limit the turning capability. I don't need much clearance, but adjusting the levers would take more than I want to do with them. My question is this, will 4" straight risers work on the RSV--that is, will they clear the faring? How about pullback risers, are they better for this purpose? I notice some of the riser advertisements say no new cables or lines needed. It seems to me that these would have to be changed. I'm currently looking at straight 4" risers from JC Penny (cheap in case they don't work) and would appreciate any information anyone can provide. One other thing, I don't need the bars any closer to my body than they currently are, so maybe a 2.5" riser would work better? By the way, the bars are too close to the fairing now to get enough height to eliminate this problem. Thanks.
