Are the rest of you as sick and tired of all these phone calls from one obscure organization or another trying to raise money some political or social cause. It seems like all they do is think up some 'cause' and start calling. What a rip. I tell them all to put their head in a very dark place.....

I made an appointment for 12,000 mile check because of upcoming cross country trip and possible oil leak around rear hub. The service guy said they recommend a valve adjustment. I thought it was too early but he insisted it was recommended. I thought it wasn't needed until 27,000 miles. Is this dealer trying to rip me off?

Wondering if I should get a new seat...Since I've only had my '06 RSV for a few weeks, I'm still slowly going over it and "fixing" it up. I had the driver seat off the other day and noticed 2 things. 1) there is a small (less than an inch) rip or cut in the side of the seat (can't really see it unless you are looking). 2) one of the 2 bolts that hold the seat on is missing. PO had used a sheetrock screw to hold that side on... I'm going to be sending the seat in to the member on this site that does the seat mods for lowering/narrowing anyway...so I'm not sure if the bolt can be fixed at that time or if the rip will prevent the cover from being restretched...Been spending money already getting a few "extras" for the bike so hate have to buy a new seat if I don't need to. Anyone got a stock seat collecting dust they need to get rid of? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

I like the nice connector holder stuck on the gas tank for the headset cord. I wonder if anyone knows where could get another such stick on holder (a smaller one, actually) that I can mount on the other side to plug in something else? -Rip

Many of you might not have heard of him, but Dr. Judah Folkman was an amazing individual and we are all diminished by his passing. http://www.reuters.com/article/scienceNews/idUSN1554272820080116?feedType=RSS&feedName=scienceNews http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/cancer/ RIP

While I am somewhat set in my ways when it comes to my preferences in music and singers (If it ain't Willie or Joan, well then it ain't s...), but I think I am eclectic enough to at least listen to other music so that I can somewhat talk about it intelligently. However, I have been listening to alternative radio here recently, and it makes me wonder, "What happened to the music?" Now maybe I just don't understand, or I'm to old to really appreciate someone screaming "Hey look.. I've got a band" 17 times in a row while accompanied by a four cord change rip. But..... is this really music. Heck, even a very young Bob Dillon (who, in my opinion was a genius lyricist, but should never have sung any of his songs) would be preferable to what they are trying to pass off as music today.
