Hello all. When I flew out of Guam in the 90s we always had a flyaway kit in the belly in case we broke down somewhere downrange. It included common items to get you back to home base without having to wait for parts, or get them from JAL, ANA, EVA etc. at a much higher price. Mechanics were abundant, parts not so much. The time is approaching for me to put this thing on the road, and I don't mean the 40 mile test rides I've been doing. I mean like you gen-you-wine over-the-road guys and gals. Getting older I'm not as Venture-ous or Venture-some as I once was, but if I'm not gonna ride long-haul... So with that in mind, I'd like to get an idea what y'all have in your flyaway kits. Tools, parts, fluids, BLTs. Was gonna post in the Watering Hole but more interested in 1st gen-specific stuff. But any info is appreciated. Richard

Heard about a vet running across country to raise money to send a LST back to France for D-Day celebration in 2019. He is currently east of Hobbs NM in west Texas. From what I read he has to catch rides back to his RV when he is done with his daily rides. If any of your are along his route might be a neat thing to get involved with. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Coast...51518878297515

I have a 2000 royal star venture and the clutch is slipping in 4th and 5th gear. When you get on the gas real hard. Changed clutch fluid. And it's still slipping. I have about 65,000 on the bike. Don't ride that hard. And no passenger (she rides her own) Where should I start with the spring plate or clutch disc. thanks Michael

Just wanted to thank all the committee members of the 2012 for putting on a great rally so far. Don & I are having a great time. We are thankful to be here with everyone. I know the hard work involved in planning something like this and just wanted to take a minute to say thanks BIG TOM & all your hard working crew!!! Niagara Falls was awesome yesterday. The rides have been great so far. Pioneer motorsports have gone above & beyond in their hospitality for us. Can't wait for another day of fun & adventure. :clap2::clap2:

Hi folks, I have a 97 Tour Deluxe. I am looking for a decent and affordable highway bar soloution. The ones on my bike are real small and don't look like they are set up well for a set of pegs. Any Ideas? Just looking to be able to get comfy on the longer rides. Speaking of which, anyone had any luck with some kind of a seat cushion? My rear does not seam to be able to hang in there like it used too...

I was trying to think of a way to see parts of Saskatchewan I hadnt seen before, and to have an excuse for a ride. Its almost the size of Texas so there is a lot of ground to cover. So, I went thru a list of towns and cities in the province and saw some fun town names and thought i should visit these places just because of their names. Big Beaver about 2 1/2 hours sw Climax about 4 hours Sw Smuts about 3 1/2 hours N Fertile about 3 1/2 hours SE Sucker River about 7 hours N Sound like interesting rides? LOL :rotfl:

I would like to install running and brake LED tail lights (I understand they don't draw much power from the electric system/battery, right?) and yet they look very cool to me. I'm pretty sure some of you have done it to your rides. Could you please tell me where do I get those, I know I can google it but, I prefer just follow what you have done. Thanks Rudy:)

Just got back from a local PGR mission, while I was there, another PGR member walked up and introduced himself to me, and said he noticed my VR patch and asked if I rode a Venture, as he did, he is also a fairly new member here. His name is Matt, aka Doppler. He rides a very nice 89, that has only 27,000 miles on it, not even close to being broken in. Going back at 2:30 to continue the mission for the visitation. Capt. Nicholas Whitlock, USAF. Another fallen hero.

Thought some might be interested in this rally in Athens, TX. If I hear about a group of VR riders coming I will set up some good rides for the VR Group. Mavrick

I live in the hampton rhoads area of VA and I was curious if there was anyone else with a venture that live around this area that would possibly want to meet up and ride sometime? Or if there were goin to be any rides anywhere near here. I looked on the calender and saw the meet and eat in greensboro and as of now am not sure if I would be wanting to drive that far yet, but who knows by that time things may have changed. Thanks everyone for your help and support, I appreciate all of you and the help you give.

Got up today - it was six degrees (42 F)!!! It's STILL six degrees with a high of only 17 (63 F). Ugh. Guess most of our long day rides are over - as soon as it goes below 10 degrees (50 F), I'm way too cold to go on the bike any distance. May look into heated gear next year. Short rides are okay, under an hour max but all day rides? Can't handle it at all even with multiple layers and lots of leather. This summer was WAY too short.
