Folks, I've been making an extra effort to make sure that ANY posts requesting prayers or any other religious content be posted ONLY in the " Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc." forum. If I see such a thread started in the Watering Hole or anywhere else, I move it immediately upon seeing it. Though I know that the majority of you are not bothered buy such posts, I also know that some of you are. It is not my intention to try and force the religious views of myself or anybody else on you. That being said, there are a number of members here who do appreciate that area and therefore, it is not going away. I want to remind you all that you do not have to read or post in that area. You do not even have to SEE it. You can hide any forum here simply by going to your User Control Panel. Click on "edit options" in the left menu and then scroll down until you see the field that allows you to exclude any forums from your view. It is very easy to do. If you wish to hide the "Prayer Request" forum or any other forum and can't figure out how to do it, send me a PM and I will help. I have closed this thread and deleted all responses. The point was to remind those who have been here a while and inform those who are new here that there is an option to hide any forums that you don't wish to see. This was meant to be an informative post but was starting to turn into a religious debate. Thank you for your understanding.

This lady has a series of videos that are a real eye opener! This one is about 20 min...but I highly recommend it for anyone who might care about the world we live in. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLBE5QAYXp8]YouTube - Story of Stuff, Full Version; How Things Work, About Stuff[/ame] There are several others....The Story of Bottled Water, Electronics, Cosmetics, and one on Cap and Trade I do what I can, but I'm just scratching the surface and there is always room for improvement. I have strong religious belefs concerning the future, but without getting political, or religious I'd encourage discussion on this topic.

As we get older, and the fact we are targets for cagers, chances are, we, or our family may need medical services in the future, which may include blood transfusions But....more and more it is becoming evident that bloodless surgery is the best for patients. As some may know, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and so I refuse blood for religious reasons. This is NOT meant to be a religious discussion! I wanted to provide some links where you can get information on the use of blood so you can make your own decisions. For me...it is because I believe that is what God wants for us...but it also is just GOOD MEDICINE! One link is a well known PBS news show. Another is a preview of a video put out by Jehovah's Witnesses. I promise that the fulll length video is not "preachy"...it is a logical and very good examination of the use of blood and an explaination of alternatives to blood transfusion. Again....this is not meant to push my beliefs on anyone (that's not what we do anyway) but is an interesting subject that could affect us individually or our family. SO IT"S GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT! Here's the links www.pbs.org/wnet/need-to-know/health/video-blood-test-what-you-dont-know-about-blood/3036/ www.watchtower.org/e/vcae/article_01.htm www.jw-media.org/gbl/gbl02e.htm you will see there are several links for more information on the Watchtower site. ...again...these videos do not push the beliefs of the Witnesses....but do provide good information. IF anyone wants to discuss the religious aspects of this subject I would be willing to do so via PM's. If anyone, after seeing the previews and checking out the other links, want a copy of the DVDs distributed by JW's, I could arrange to get a copy for them. PLEASE don't turn this into a religious discussion or I'm sure it will be pulled by the moderators.

Fridays at work are great...even better when I can fit motorcycles into the Ontario high school curriculum and spend the period talking about biking. Today's law class had a particularly lively discussion though. The evidence from an experiment conducted last year at a local racetrack was presented in Ontario court yesterday, with at least one man's desire that Ontario will be the next Canadian province (in addition to BC and MB) that will allow Sikhs to got helmetless. Very interesting news, and quite the fight our brothers on 2 wheels are putting up to gain this as a right. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080215.whelmet15/BNStory/National/home?cid=al_gam_mostemail Like our Venturerider moderators are already thinking...please, no racial slurs or religious comments should follow this post.

To All My Democrat Friends: Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but n ot without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee. To My Republican Friends: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
