We will be manning the registration table till 5:00 pm. 6:00 pm we will assemble in the main parking lot of the park and depart at 6:15 for our dinner ride to Blairsville, which is an 11 mile ride. We will be dining at Fatz in Blairsville. Dress is casual comfortable. Thur. 8/18/2011 I will be in the main parking lot around 8:00 am to register anyone who is arriving . Starting at aprox 9:00 am, we will have 3 different rides departing at staggered times. These are a ride to Bryson City, NC to raft the Natahala River, a ride to Helen, Ga. for lunch, tubing and shopping, and for those who haven’t sampled the food at the world famous Dillard House a ride there for lunch. There will be sign up sheets available at the registration tables to sign up for one of the three rides. If you would be interested in leading the Dillard House ride or the ride to Helen, please let me know when you register. Thurs. evening starting at 7:00 pm we will have a social get together at shelter # 3 across from the lake, bring your beverage we will have snacks and water available for small donations. This will have to end by 10:00 pm per park rules. Fri. 8/19/2011 Today will be the title ride of the event. We will be riding to Deals Gap via the Cherahola Skyway with a reststop midway before continuing on to ride the Tail of the Dragon, we will be having lunch at Deals Gap before riding the Dragon. You may choose to ride it alone if you are familiar with it or with a group of riders who will take it easy if you are new to it. Someone can set you up with the right group to ride with. This is a very busy place so it will be hard to stay together as one large group, so we normally break up into several smaller groups to head back to the park. Once back at the park its time to relax and chill out. Here is a summary of the ride to the Dragon: 8:00 AM KSU to depart for all day ride. 1st leg of ride will take us back roads to Telico Plains where we will break for gas and refreshments at the Exxon, where we might be meeting some other riders before departing for the Cherahola Skyway. Distance-66 miles 2nd Leg will take us over the Skyway to Robbinsville, NC. Distance- 53 miles. 3rd Leg will take us to Deals Gap for lunch, before tackling the Dragon. Then we will leave Deals Gap stopping in Robbinsville for gas before heading back to Vogel with a refreshment stop in Anderson, NC. Distance 107 miles Sat. 8/20/2011 Eck Nace has selected some very nice back roads to ride if you are interested in another ride. His ride starts, (Kick Stands up), at 8am out of Vogel and he promises to have you back to the park in time for the afternoon meal which is planned to start around 3:00 pm. If you are not interested in going on a ride and just want to hang out at the park, there will be some members available to do carb tunes. We will also be set up at sheltler # 3 to register any late comers and pass a good time. The meal is being catered by Shane’s Rib Shack. The menu is: Pulled Pork & Bread. Potato Salad Brunswick Stew Tea, Sweet & Unsweet, Lemonade Deserts: Peach Cobbler, Apple Cobbler, & Banana Pudding. We will also start pulling winning numbers for the raffle, If you haven’t purchased your raffle tickets for this I am sure we can sell you a few. After all the prizes and door prizes are gone we will gather for a group photo and call it a nite. Sun..........Departure day..........Thanks for coming and supporting the Kids at St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

If you haven't mailed your registration or bought your raffle tickets yet, I will be closing early registration and raffle ticket sales by mail on 7/29/11, so if you haven't mailed it or ordered your tickets by then please wait and do it when you arrive, I dont want people showing up and I dont have their registration in hand. If you plan on coming and arent sure till the last minute it would be a great help if you could drop me a pm or post a reply on this post that you are coming, I dont want to be caught short on food, I havent in the past and I dont want to this time either. I normally prepare for aprox 100 people and order food for that amount, but I have a feeling this time it could go higher than that, and I dont want to have to ration the food, everyone knows how VR members like to eat:doh:!!! Also plese remember that if you order your raffle tickets via PayPal, please do not mention Raffle ticket, mark it as a donation for Vogel. Looking forward to seeing all my old VR friends and lots of new faces this year, who knows, this may me my last Vogel........:crying: And lest I forget there are only 24 Days left till Vogel!!!! I will have extra shirts available for sale for $18.00, and patches for $5.00. Where did you get your trailer? I've been looking at the PiggyBacker. Good price at $950 but add $200 for RIV processing and shipping ($186) plus the hassles with customs, brokerage fees and registration.... is there a good trailer available locally ? (Ontario) I've checked kijiji and autotrader but nothing listed. Suggestions?

We are planning to attend Americade this year, the week after Freebird's maintenance day. After checking out the registration form on line, I'm a little confused and undecided. http://store.tourexpo.com/productcart/pc/home.asp Wondering if someone who has been there and done that can advise us on how to do it. Is the full registration worth it? How about the organized rides? Seems like all the rides etc. cost extra $$$. Is it better just to pay to get into the trade show and go on our own rides? I don't mind paying the fees if they are worth it. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Just in case anyone is interested. While the registration form states it can not be saved... If you have a PDF writer, you can save the form by using the PDF writer program to print the form to a file. Looking forward to seeing a whole bunches of uz guys in Cody in July.

Folks, it's getting down to the wire, and to date there have only been 18 people registered for the rally. A lot of work has gone into this by Cupcake (Damn, don't think I'll ever get used to that), Leadwolf and a lot of others to put this event together. So, if you are planning on attending, PLEASE get you registration in soon.

I noticed several people are selling bikes as parts bikes because they dont have titles.I had a 1981 sr250 that had no title. The last it was titled was in Ohio in 1987. I live in Indiana. Being the privacy act I was not allowed the names on the last owner that had a title. So I tried to go through the Indiana BMV. that was like talking to a wall. The next step was to go to court to get a judge to sign so i could get a title. The cost was $130 just to go in the court room. With the chance the judge says no i did not go that route. Found a place on the internet called International title.. Called the number sent the paper work they requested. Three weeks later I had a registration and plate. This was from Maine. (legal)Transferd plates to Indiana and it was done. Some states dont need a title for motorcycles after 15 years. Just thought this might help someone out...By the way the plates and registration cost me $140 through International title.

The time has come to place my order for Dragon/Vogel t-shirts. I have finalized the design and just need to leave the rest up to the members attending, so if you plan on attending Vogel you have two things to do, first I need to know sizes especially if you haven't registered and given me that info already, second is which color you want, in the past we have had, grey shirts, black shirts, and maroon shirts as I dont wont to duplicate any shirt, I want each year to stand out on its own merit. Below you will find a sample of each color I have chosen and the design on the front, the back will remain secret until Aug. 12. So please let me know what color and what sizes you will be requiring especially if you don't plan on pre-registering. If I already have your registration you can pm me with your choice. For those that don't submit their choice, I will have extra shirts available at the registration table, they will be available on a first come basis, and if you are bringing your kids and want shirts I can get them in youth sizes but. I must have this info before I place the order.

Today was the day... Been working on this thing pretty solid for almost a month. Time flys when yer havin fun.. Anyway, got it off the trailer that had served as my garage. Tried to remember if I had checked everything. Fired it up and took it to the end of the drive(about 200 yds). Well, it was still running, so on to the pavement I went. Cracked the throttle and off it went. WOW! What a feeling. Went about a mile then I remembered.. forgot to put the license plate on. Ooops Did a quick 180 back to the house. Course the registration is with the plate. That's all I would have needed on it's maiden voyage. Again, I want to thank all the people on this site that made it possible. Having never had a Venture before, I really needed the help. I hope that I can pay it back some time. I still have a couple issues but it really felt good to take er out on the road. Wayne
