I am in the middle of changing out the side reflectors for LED's. Now the lights i bought from JPCycles.com came with two wires...a yellow and a black. I have read the other threads and I am curious about something... When i was messing with the wires on the bike, i discovered if i hook one of the wires to the running lights and the other to a turn signal, i get a running light that will flash when i hit the turn signal. Can someone explain why/if it would be bad for the electrical system if i hooked the wires up this way?

Well I bought the AZ LEDs with the intention of putting them on the reflectors. But then I just couldn't get passed the "boo-boo" on my fairing. So I decided to cover it up and add the red LEDs to the side of the trunk. This way they are higher than the reflectors anyway. Got started tearing into it and just couldn't quit...... To get power to them I tapped into the relay for my passing light and ran the wire for the rear lights from there too. I also installed a separate fuse for the new LEDs Oh and this was a REALLY unusual repair for me, no blood was spilled!!!

I need help with my Saddle Bag Rail Reflectors on my RSV. The reflector on the right side rail of the saddle bag broke. I have been searching for a replacement but cannot find one anywhere. Does any one have any suggestions. I have attached a photo to show what I am looking for. Any help is appreciated. Dwight

I know I've seen a post before where some one changed their reflectors by the front wheel and the rear crash bar to LED's.The front would be no problem, but I have the saddle bag rails and cannot figure out how to hide the wires with out them being seen. Does any one that has done this give me detailed instructions? Pictures would be even better,if that is possible.

Well I was looking in the [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15244]Royal Star Venture Parts list (started 09/28-07)[/ame] for a set of donated reflectors. I need a set of right and left rear vertical reflectors that go on the stock saddle bag guard. I took them off when I installed the horizontal saddle bag guards. Them traded them away for a part. Well I saw them install on the horizontal guards I was wishing that I had kept them. Anybody out there have a set they would part with? Give me a shout via PM or right on this posting. Thanks Much Steve aka Bubber

Sorry if this is using the wrong thread category, but I know I read on here somewhere that one of our members made wind reflectors for the knee area. I can't find it and if you know who it is, please let me know so I can contact them. I am really interested in a set. thanks Don

to LED's. I bought 1 1/4" X 3 1/2" LED's from J & P Cycle, REAL nice people, the entire experience with them was first class. The rear LED's fit perfectly inside the existing reflectors. Just popped the reflectors out, drilled another hole to accept the wires and ran them thru the crash bar. On the front I replaced the reflectors totally with the new LED's. I had to make a backing plate out of aluminum with a stainless flat head screw thru the lower portion. Not wanting to make the wires bulky I merely taped them with black electrical tape and ran them with the brake line. I didn't attach them to the line but I think I can find some stand offs to keep them in place if they start moving. The LED's are 1 1/4" wide and the smallest aluminum flat I could find was 1 1/2" so I cut them down with my band saw, knocked the corners off and went to work with 180 girt paper. With some patience and a lot of rubbing I managed to come up with 4 smooth edges on each one and nice radius on the corners. To set the stainless ( 12/32 X 3/4" ) screw in the plate I drilled, put a champfer in it and locked it in place with it's nut then used a nail set to 'marry' the aluminum to the screw head. Then just for insurance I put a drop of crazy glue on the head and the underside. I neglected to take a picture of the front mounting plate but it's pretty simple once it's shaped to the LED. Thanks to all that have already done this conversion, it ended up a fairly easy chore. So - thanks for posting your methods and results

I have 2 questions. The first is about the rear side reflectors that mount on the crash bar. I have installed the saddle bag trim rails which are of a smaller diameter then the crash bar. I have seen that many of you have the reflectors installed on the saddlebag trim rails so what was used to make up the difference so the reflectors stay in place? Also I have gotten the LED conversion reflector replacements. has anyone wired these up to run as running lights and then blink when the turn signal is on? If so any help would be appriciated.

I have to apologise to all our members here as I have been so busy with life that I haven't reported the findings of what caused our crash on Jan 2 2008. With out further delay here what we know.... After the tire was professionally inspected, it was found out that I did in fact hit something in the road. It appears to have been about the size of my pinkey finger and completely punctured the casing and zippered part of the sidewall. I have my theories after learning that some of the reflectors down south are spiked into the asphault. Perhaps one of the reflectors was missing or broke and allowed the retaining spike to puncture the tire. I apologise for not posting this up sooner, but I want you folks to be able to make intelligent desicions on purchasing tires. The Michelin Commanders that I had on my bike are not the cause of the accident. If your thinking of buying them I would say to be confident in them. I was pleased with the performance of them, but ultimately I love the Avons and thats what I will buy in the future. Again I apologise for the delay, I hope this helps out anybody that was wanting to hear about the findings before they bought tires.
