I ride that route several days a week. It would take nerves to walk out into traffic there. The hospital is only a few minutes from there and I'm sure the man knew he could get him to help before help could get to him. Hoping for a good recovery for the rider. http://www.ketv.com/news/local-news/Mystery-man-saves-motorcyclist-s-life/-/9674510/15851280/-/eli0nez/-/index.html Mike

Delivered the old 96 up to Blind River, ON Friday, was an awesome ride. Stopped at Tony's in Birch Run for breakfast, still eating bacon. It was very, very windy crossing the mighty Mack, had to take my time going across, a wee bit scary with some big gusts pushing me around. Going to miss the bike, but prepping the sailboat for the winter helped to ease tha pain. It's going to be a long winter..... No bites on the Venture yet, will have better luck in the spring I'm thinking. Been following Ponch's recovery....albeit slow but sure. Keep it up David, slay the Goliath that is taking you on, you can beat him! In the meantime, heading up to Elliot Lake, ON today to visit family, then it's off to do the circle route around Superior, down the east shore of Lake Michigan to home and back to work Monday. Just a quick update..... gunk:shock3:

This morning, while doing regular maintenance, I noticed a thick brown sludge in the coolant recovery container...smells like oil. Unfortuantely for me, I checked the coolant level approx 6 months ago, after doing a coolant flush and fill, so I don;t know exactly WHEN the oil started seeping into the coolant system. I've completely emptied and cleaned the recovery container...When I removed the radiator cap...yep....oily sludge. It's an 08 RSV so Im pretty sure it's under warranty. So...exactly "how screwed" am I? Any thoughts on where I should start? Funny thing is, the bike seems to be running fine... Thanks for any/all comments and suggestions.

I got a great report from the doctor today. He is an orthopedic doctor who specializes with hands. He said all parts of my arms/elbows/wrists/shoulder are well on their way to recovery. My hand is numb, but that is a natural part of the recovery. Now comes some intense physical therapy which I am ready for. Praise Jesus for a great report. Thanks to all my fellow Ventureriders for their continued thoughts and prayers. I am on my way back!!!!!!!:dancefool::dancefool: Ben

I wanted to let everyone know that Toni Knox called me about an hour and a half ago with news of Paul's surgery. He had just finished, after about 6 hours, and the doctors say that everything went well! Please post your prayers and well-wishes here in support of a full and speedy recovery. I know they will both appreciate it... Please also check out this thread and show your support if you can: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45243 Thank You! TERRY

Hi everyone, Just want to take a moment to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and concerns while undergoing my 2 surgeries and now as I begin my recovery at home. No words could express how much I appreciate your friendships that we've acquired over the years through Venturerider.org. I know it's going to be a long painful recovery, but knowing I have so much loving support and continuing prayers from the venturerider family members, it'll keep me going. Once again, thanks to all. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon. Charlene

Charlene has been discharged from the hospital and we arrived home at 6:30 pm. The hold up was for her new aids that she needs during recovery, a walker, and a toilet seat riser with armrests, well they found one cleaned it up real good and sent her on her way, they really didnt need to keep her any longer as she was doing such a great job of following directions from the therapist. I have plenty of work to do around here in the next few days to get her all set up safely, 1st I need to install some handrails in her shower for support, move some furniture around so she will have a proper chair for sitting in the living room. She is doing well, and I expect her recovery will go smoothly and quickly. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and well wishes as I know that had a lot to do with it. She will be signing on one day this week to post for herself but for now, from the bottom of our hearts our most greatful thanks for everyone's support.

An e-mail from Renate (Germany) make me come back to let everyone knows how is our son: After a whole month, still in ICU with Respiratory Assistance but our of Risk. Neumonia consequences were so strong that his recovery will be really slow, however they're confidents on a full recovery. He had two minor surgeries: Traqueostomy and an Esofagic tube to feed him. All we afraid at this time is an Infection from the Hospital itself, that is something usual when you're too long in. Happy thanksgiving for all of you, were you are and thanks for all your prays. Carlos

Charlene is finally going to have her surgery to correct her back problems........they cant do it till after the first of the year, Jan. 4 is when it will happen, she will have two procedures while she is in one for the scoliosis and the other for spinal stenosis. One will take place on Monday and the second will take place on Thursday, she will be in the hospital anywhere from one to two weeks ......Tried to get it done before the end of the year since all our deductibles were met, but his schedule was full. So if you would please keep Charlene in your prayers..........she has had a rough time of it for the last 2-3 years..........I dont know how she has done it, but she has. Recovery will take quiet a while........

I have an emachine (yeah I know all the past unreliability about it before emachine was bought out). I bought it in 2005 and I will say that ever since I have owned it, it has been a very reliable machine (until now). Of course I don't use it for much else other than surfing the web and storing photos. I really don't have use for a computer beyond that. It started acting really slow. Antivirus and spybot didn't pickup on anything. So I decided it was time to wipe the hard drive clean and start over. I backed everything up (including the recovery partition) to my USB HD and used the recovery partition. For whatever reason it didn't work and the pc kept freezing. I also have Norton Ghost which I saved an image a couple months ago. I restored the image and that didn't work (usually does). I tried burning the recovery partition files to a dvd-r and see if it will boot from pc and recover from there. That didn't work. I contacted emachine to see if I could get a recovery cd as one was not provided when I bought it brand new. Well come to find out that if it was manufactured prior to 2006 (mine was in 2005) that they didn't supply recovery cd's. What I did find out that the last 2 digits of the serial is the year built. So for me the last 2 are 50, which stands for 2005. I guess my fault on not creating a restoration cd. They give you the opportunity to do it when you boot the pc, but for whatever reason I decided not to. I don't have $100's for a new pc, or a new HD and OS. I have seen the OS's on e-bay for dirt cheap, but honestly I don't trust them enough to buy from there in cases like this. So what I am asking is anyone else has an emachine if you can check your serial to see if yours was manufactured 2006 and after. If so can you PM me your serial so I can order a recovery cd? I have XP home edition. I can't use Vista. It is a system hog and my pc won't be able to handle it. I know how to get a free copy of XP, but honestly I want a legal copy. Thanks. Jerry
