I thought there was a classified section for the Goldwings. Nothing in the other sections besides a Goldwing wheel for sale. Thank you for your help. Fuzzy

  4. This does not have a receiver.... So if you are a PGR member, it would be hard to switch from flag holder and back to trailer. I just saw it and thought this might help someone else. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.m748&item=190582644319&viewitem=&_trkparms=clkid%3D3155915016270951475#ht_500wt_1182
  5. I'm continually amazed at how talented my kids are. Probably it's because I don't have these talents. My two girls each have blogs about the crafts, knitting and sewing projects they do. One does photography. My older son is at Weber State in the manufacturing engineering program. I think he likes it so much because he not only is learning the technical side, math etc, but because he gets to play with the machines. One of his projects this semester was to make a receiver cover.... this is what he designed and produced: http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr70/utadventure/IMG_1125.jpg After some final smoothing of the tool marks and some paint, it will be complete. I'm glad he doesn't have a truck....that way I get it for mine. Dave
  6. Don't want to pull a trailer(yet) but would love to place a larger cooler, in the center and lower on my bike as they can be heavy, not to mention leaky," oh well I guess I did mention that huh?". Question(s) is, Where is the best place to buy a receiver and/or does anyone want to get rid of theirs? Do they come with wiring for turn signal, hazard, stop and "Backup" lights?
  7. :puzzled:Is anyone using the Verticle Hide A Hitch from Diamond R Accessories? If so, are you pleased with the function and looks? It sounds like a great idea. I was just curious about clearance, how visible it is when the receiver is removed, and how the safety chains would clear the fender. It looks like they will be hooked up and under the fender...
  8. CAUTION: HIGH RESOLUTION PICS. (I'VE DISCOVERED THE BEST WAY TO VIEW THESE PICS IS TO RIGHT-CLICK THE PICS, ONE AT A TIME, AND "OPEN LINK IN NEW TAB". VIEW THE PIC, CLOSE THE WINDOW, AND REPEAT FOR EACH PIC) Obviously before connecting up the trailer I mentioned above, I had to have a hitch since this bike came to me without one. I looked over the units available online and decided that their ideas were basically sound but I wanted to build mine as a receiver hitch to begin with, and wanted to save some cash as well. I removed the crossover bar behind the rear tire and measured it for width inside the attach flanges: 9” http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i140/Dave_Danger/Bike/Hitch%20Assembly/?action=view&current=DSC04028.jpg I then purchased a 1 1/4" receiver hitch tube from a local automotive hitch dealer and cut it to the length that would place the receiver as close to the rear fender as possible. I then drilled a 7/8" hole thru the receiver tube from side-to-side, with the edge of the hole flush with the fwd (tire end) of the tube, then cut that hole open like a slot. I then began with a 9" x 9" piece of 3/16" thick steel plate, and cut all corners on a 45 degree angle, and folded the front edge (tire edge) 90 degrees straight up, and drilled a 3/4" hole in both aft corners for safety chains. http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i140/Dave_Danger/Bike/Hitch%20Assembly/?action=view&current=DSC04030.jpg http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i140/Dave_Danger/Bike/Hitch%20Assembly/?action=view&current=DSC04039.jpg http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i140/Dave_Danger/Bike/Hitch%20Assembly/?action=view&current=DSC04041.jpg I then clamped all the pieces together tightly and welded all joins in a series of 3/4" stitch beads. http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i140/Dave_Danger/Bike/Hitch%20Assembly/?action=view&current=DSC04046.jpg Reinstalled the whole assembly to the bike and slipped in a 1 7/8" ball mount that I had left over from a previous vehicle... oila! Really slick, nearly hidden receiver hitch. http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i140/Dave_Danger/Bike/Hitch%20Assembly/?action=view&current=DSC04053.jpg http://s71.photobucket.com/albums/i140/Dave_Danger/Bike/Hitch%20Assembly/?action=view&current=DSC04049.jpg I have about $50.00 worth of materials and outside machine shop work in it. Not counting my design, fitting and welding time.
  9. Just updated my XM subscription and asked a few questions concerning the XM/Sirius merger . They have now started to introducing "The Best of Sirius" on XM . Not all the channels are what some of you would want to hear right now , Howard Stern , PlayBoy , Martha Stewart , but at least they added NASCAR and NFL . Hey it's a start ! Other subscription tiers are in the works . I have went ahead and paid a years subscription of $186.89 + my XM weather for my Zumo for the XM + BOS . I was under the impression that any additional receiver would be somewhere around $6-7 + change a month . NOT ! $10.+change per "YEAR" for any additional receiver , whether it be an an XM or Sirius receiver !!!!! However the added Sirius channels aren't numerous at this time , at least it's a start as more channels to added later . Now from what XM told me , the same shall apply to Sirius subscribers . But they will be getting "The Best of XM" to start . So since my free Sirius radio subscription out of my new truck has expired , I just might take advantage of the $10.+change a year additional receiver charge . Though my truck sit pretty in the driveway most of the time ! :hihi: Just thought I would spread the news that something is happening in the XM/Sirius merger . BEER30
  10. Looking to get a Satellite radio for my RSV. Have heard that one is taking over the other but don't know which. My question is what is a good receiver for a motorcycle? Which receiver has the best secure docking station for bikes? Currently have XM on my truck but don't know if after the "takeover" which will and will not work!!! I'm showing how little I know about this subject so be kind in all replies.
  11. Just wondering if anyone is using a rack in their receiver hitch. Where did you get it and how do you like it? I'm not too sure about the one Rivco makes. Eddie
  12. The PO welded a piece of 1.5"ID square stock to the bottom of the Bustec hitch on the '91. The square measures 2" on the outside. I can't find a ball mount anywhere. One of the local stores did give me a 1 3/16" drawbar because they didn't even have it listed in inventory.... and it was around christmas... , but it's pretty sloppy, and is designed to fit into a 1.25" receiver. I've been all over the internet trying to find something, but so far nada.... So.... do they even make a 1.5" receiver?? I guess the options I have would be:
  13. c'mon now... I know I ain't the only one who buys hisself a gift for xmas. Well, the wife and I decided to get a "common" gift...one that we both wanted and both can use so, we went out and bought a new 37" HDTV and a HD satellite receiver (we already have satellite TV). WOW! ... what a difference and, what a learning experience we went through before we settled on a specific TV brand/model. Then came the fun and games connecting everything (Satellite receiver, DVD player, Stereo system...) ... thos "sales people" don't tell ya everything and even though they seem knowledgeable, they don't always know everything either. I got the HDMI/DVI cable (coz the sales guy said I should)... but when I hooked it up (tried the s-video first) .... I had no sound! Great picture...no sound. Phoned the satellite tech support ... guy I got said I needed to turn the TV on before the SAT receiver so that a proper "handshake" could be made... well, that didn't work. Then I phoned the store where I bought the stuff... tech guy there wasn't sure why but said try shutting it all off. (I was at work during these calls so couldn't actually do anything). Got home, tried shutting off and starting TV first, then SAT receiver... no sound. Got on the phone with SAT tech again...went from tier one to tier two all the way to tier three support...they even downloaded a manual for the TV... and that's where it is obvious what was needed.... a simple $12 Audio 2-into-one cable that runs the audio from the SAT box to the single RCA/DVI audio jack on the back of the TV. THAT info was not in the paper manual that came with anything and it's obvious none of the tech guys knew what was needed without themselves referring to a "book". This process took over an hour and a half! Well, we're very happy with it now but this whole thing proves a point... the more "high-tech" things become, the more knowledge a person has to absorb and ya sure can't rely on nobody tellin ya simple, clear, layman's instructions no more.
  14. I've looked through so many threads on here that now I'm confused. So I'll just ask a direct question in hopes of getting a link. I want to buy the Sirius SV3-TK1 Stratus receiver for my 05 RSTD. What I'm looking for is a handlebar mount for that particular receiver that also will hold the antenae. Like the XM roadie has. Any help will be appreciated. Also want to let folks know with Sirius you can buy a years subscription, get an extra month free and can put your service on hold for up to 5 months without being charged a reconnection fee. So during the winter months those of us who are fair weather riders won't be charged for service were not using. Mike
