Well, I finally pulled the trigger on rebuilding my '83. It is in ok condition, but I think I paid too much for someone's put-back-together parts bike. It is a Royale, but someone removed all the Royale stuff (Class, radio, CB, etc) and hacked all the wires/connectors for them. Plus a lot of the plastic is cracked, missing tabs, randomly screwed together and zip-tied. It needs a lot of attention, and for a short moment I considered just trading it off and looking for a better bike. But I figured whoever got it would probably just part it off and one less 1st gen would be on the road. So here goes my tear-down and rebuild of my 1983 Venture Custom. It's going to be the way I want it. We are in the process of rebuilding our VR Assistance List. If you can and are willing to offer assistance to a member who is riding through your area, please edit your profile to include that information. Simply click on "Settings" at the upper right of the page and then scroll down to "Edit Profile". Near the bottom you will find a place to select "yes or no" in regards to offering local assistance and then a place to select services that you may be able to offer. Cowpuc just mentioned in another thread another, and maybe easier, way to get to it. Click "forum actions" in the small menu at the top. Select edit profile. Scroll down and you'll see where to select your information.

I am rebuilding a set of forks on my 83 Venture.I have a damaged fork tube(scratched).I bought a set off Ebay but the caliper mounts are different.My question is,can I use the tubes off the newer forks and the bottoms off the old forks?They look very simmilar.I am also planning on using all the parts from the new forks.When I took the tubes out I broke a piece off the washer on the inside of the one tube.It is the one that doesnt come out.90 percent of the washer is still there.Can I still use it? -
I havent been on in a bit and didnt know till Dragonrider facebook me. Alls well ive just been busy from being sick to spending this summer when im not sleeping with Chelby. the bike is torn apart for work on the rebuilding of the forks witch is being a pain to me and i got some rooters to put on in the next few days if im over this crud i picked up:15_8_211[1]:

Charlene and I went out to eat with Clay18, his wife Lori and beautiful baby girl Chelby last nite. She is a little princess and is gonna break some hearts in the near future. It was good seeing them again, of course we talked about bikes, guns, among other things. He is rebuilding his front forks on his 1st gen, but I couldnt be much help, and could use some help from someone in the know. Here are some pics from last nite.

the standard speaker is 15 watts. anyone ever upgrade to 20 or 30 watts? if so where get them? (sorry - originally posted amps + I am rebuilding a broken 07 and riding an 01 RSV) need a front speaker grill - right side - any one have an extra?
