Don't know what has happened over the past few days but I guess it's time for a reminder about the few rules that we have here. NO POLITICS NO PORNOGRAPHY NO PERSON ATTACKS NO RELIGIOUS DEBATE Those are the main ones. I have said it before but it doesn't hurt to repeat it. This is a family oriented site. It is hard to rate such things but I would say that if used a movie type rating, "PG" is probably where it would fall. This site is based on friendships and the shared passion for motorcycles. It is about what unites us, NOT those things that might tear us apart. I realize that there are things going on it the world that are of interest to many of us. There are things that we should be able to discuss on a technical basis without turning it into a political debate. The discussion on fracking is one of those things. So far, it has remained fairly technical and non-political but it has the potential of going south. If that happens, it will be deleted. There was another thread about Cuba. That is almost a purely political topic and has been deleted. Thanks

What octane rating do you use? Does a higher rating make a difference in the performance level and maintenance of a Second Gen or late model RSTD motor?

We have a rather large (72x48x24) fire safe at work that is used to store documents and they want me to put some lighting in it. I need to get 120v power into the safe but it cannot compromise the fire rating of the safe. Are there any kits available to accomplish this? Or a DIY way?

Howdy. I'll be replacing my stock Bridgestone tires in the next month and am in the middle of doing a little research. I've read a whole bunch on here about different tire brands and what people like and dislike and I believe I've decided to move forward and purchase the Avon Venoms for my 06 RSTD. My questions is about the tire rating. There are a lot of posts that talk about tire rating but I haven't found any that actually answer my specific questions. Hopefully someone can. Here goes: If I have a front tire rated 71 (520 lbs) and a rear tire rated 80 (992 lbs), does that mean the total capacity for the bike is 1512 lbs? Put another way, if the above is true with regards to ratings and the bike weighs in at 844 lbs, does that mean I can have roughly 650 more pounds of me, the wife, cargo, accessories, etc? The reason I'm asking this question is that I've always wondered how much I'm stressing the tires when both my wife and I are riding. I'm not a small guy (I go about 325) and with my wife (I'm not dumb and won't give out her weight) we weigh in right around 475 lbs (you do the math ). That's quite a bit and when you add in clothes, helmets, jackets and so on, we may get close to that 500 lb mark. I just want to make sure I'm riding safe and I noticed the Avon Venoms have a high rating. What will that mean for me? I appreciate everyones thoughts. -

How do you tell the speed rating for trailer tires? Easy enough on car tires, but can't seem to find info. for trailer tires. Been looking at doing the harbour freight mod. They have a black one now for $280 and in my AAA magazine got a 20% coupon. Has 12 inch tires, but interested to know what the speed rating is. Also been checking out 13" rims on e-bay. Didn't think cars used tires that small but apparently they do. Would be ideal to me to swap out tires for 13" car tires. That would leave any doubt about the speed rating.

I need some expert advise on amps and AMH Rating.. I want to use a winch thats says not to use a battery with less 12 AMHTo run it.. Now I have the Pyramid regulated power supply that has a constant 12 AMP Rating. So will this run that Winch? Hope this makes since *lol* Thanks, Jeff

Here is a new "Rhino tire" jell they spray into your tire. Got a cool video with a motorcycle,,,,,, OK it's really a crotch rocket. They sell the tires pre-sprayed. I looked up the ones for my RSV > AM41 VENOM FRONT AV-323 SIZE & RATING: 150/80H 16 BLK 204.95 AM42 VENOM REAR AV-336 SIZE & RATING: 150/90HB 15 BLK - (Reinforced, Bias belted) 210.95

I got a buyer for my 86 VR, full price [$4400] if I hold it until spring [no problem] eBay Item # 110201753639. Almost the same ad as in our classifieds here. He wants proof that i have this scoot in my possession. He is a few states away & auction ends in 2 days. I have 100% (23) rating since Dec 02 with eBay, but he is wise to be cautious. How do i prove this by email or phone? Any Ideas?
