Update: saw the oncologist and he is optimistic that this can be controlled if not cured, IF the radiation "window" can reach from the lymph nodes under the collar bones down to the tumor on top of the stomach. It is a large "port" as they call it but it will be up to the radiation doctor. SO, PRAY PRAY PRAY that the window is big enough!!! He will have chemo weekly for 12 weeks and radiation daily for at least 6 weeks. The radiation will be the toughest because it will effect his swallowing, which will improve after treatments are finished. They will do gamma knife radiation to the brain lesion somewhere in all this. I am fully trusting in the power of prayer because it has gotten us this far!! this is from his daughter.....

Folks, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you that I am sorry that I'm not posting as much as I once did. I love this group and it is as important to me as it has ever been but things have just gotten a bit busy for me. I still get every single post by email and read them all. I respond to some but not as many as I have in the past. The recession has taken a bit of a toll or our company also. We are doing fine and I think my job is secure but they are asking us to work a few more hours, see more customers and do what we can to drive more sales. I used to be on the road about 4 days a week and then get home Thursday night, do my reports and etc. on Friday and enjoy the weekend. Now I'm leaving early on Monday morning and not getting home until Friday evening. Then I usually end up doing my reports and etc. on Saturday or Sunday and getting ready to leave again on Monday. I'm feeling pretty good. They eye is doing OK at this point, vision is still good but it's too early to get excited about it. I don't know if it's just the fact that I'm getting older or the radiation but I find that I tire out really easily right now. I've been told that the radiation has a lingering effect that causes it. The fact is, when I get to my hotel room at night after driving all day and seeing 15-20 customers per day, I'm pretty much worn out. So please, understand that I'm still here and am still doing things in the background that need to be done. I still post fairly often but just don't feel as creative and outgoing as I usually do. I'm sure it will get better soon and things will be back to normal. Don
