The NARR group had it's October meeting tonight and we have over 1000.00 pledged for next years St Judes event! No competition next year but I would like to see these two groups get together and present at the same time again. We had so many members who made their first visit to the hospital and were deeply moved by the experience. We had the drawing for the handmade quilt that we raffled off as part of our fundraising effort and a lady whos adult daughter is fighting cancer was the winner.

I want to take a few minutes and Thank EVERYONE that was able to make the M&E this Saturday at McRae's. I can't even begin to tell all of you how much this meant to Lonna and myself. Pretty much everyone knows of Lonna's and my plans to move to Texas. As much as we are excited to get out of Michigan, there is a bitter sweet pill to have to swallow, and that is leaving the people here that we care a great deal about. As quite a few of you know, Lonna and I were kept completely in the dark about the "Quilt" that was being made for us by none other than Marca Norg (The better half of Marcarl) and Robin Higson (Wizard 765's better half) It is a beautiful piece and something that Lonna and I will cherish the remainder of our days. Nice work to Freebird that sent out the mass email and helped the accomplices to totally dupe us. This doesn't surprise me as I have been on the planning end of some very secret projects here on the site The time at the restraunt was fantastic and the staff there took good care of us. I'm guessing that about 70 people showed, we had over 30 bikes in the parking lot and 5 cages. Of course after lunch/supper we had to do an ice cream run, which we did up to St. Clair and bombarded a small creamerie who was very thankful that I showed up with 20+ people. Then we went back to our house....and thats where the antics started up. My sister in laws beau while we were gone brought a triwall box full of wood to the house and prepped for a bonfire. There was the usual BSing and then the "Beverages" were being consumed, quite liberally by some. With all the wood gone and some very good story telling...."Can you hear them now Clarice" we retired, none worse for the wear, but very happy to be able to enjoy the company of others. Sunday morning started with it raining ( I wish the weatherman would get his story strait ) and the last stragglers from the day befores escapade loaded up and headed out towards their domiciles. Lonna and I can't remember the last time we had this much fun. I was so glad that everone made it here and back home in 1 piece. So to Marca and Robin for your tireless efforts with the beautiful Quilt, and all their accomplices, we love you folks. To everyone from us THANK YOU we will not forget this weekend for a long time to come, and for the conspiritors that helped in anyway with our wonderful gift....Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.
