I want to put some some small 55 watt plattuiem burners on the mirror brackets for my 91 VR. Being that the PTT switch by the left grip is not used for I use blue tooth, I would like to activate the Burners by the PTT switch as a signal. Also I would like to put a regular lighted toggle switch to activate the Burners for longer use. I plan on using a relay. My thoughts are that I can do this, but would like conformation that I would not be creating a electricial problem.

Hi All, I recently acquired a 1989 Venture Royale to add to my stable, and it has the stock CB that works fine. The controller head in the right fairing side does not have a PTT switch like the head that came in my 1983 VR, (and I am not using that one as it didn't have the cb base under the top of the fairing, just the controller in my 83 VR), and was wondering if they are compatible. I don't have the stock headsets, so I don't have the PTT that probably came on them, the rear passenger control has a PTT, but I want one too. Can I just swap out the controllers and thereby have the PTT on my right? I would not have the local /DX button on the 89 controller, but who needs it. I would rather have the PTT. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

I'll have a limited supply of Royal Star Venture Mic-Mutes kits @ MD. I'll also have Mic-Mutes kits for the GL1800 Gold Wing and for the J&M CB JMCB-2003-DU. I'm no longer able to accept credit cards at MD. I can though accept CCs thru a PayPal email invoice or also on my website. Cash is always best though. If you know that you'll want to install Mic-Mutes @ MD. let me know so that I may reserve one of the RSV Mic-Mutes kits for you. I can also bring GL1500 Gold Wing and Valkyrie Interstate Mic-Mutes kits by request, but I don't intend to have those kits if no one asks in advance. Price is: $139.95 for GL1800, GL1500, RSV or Valkrie Interstate. $154.95 for GL1800+CB PTT switch, GL1500+CB PTT switch, Valk+CB PTT switch $119.95 for the JMCB-2003-DU I'm not charging for installation, nor am I performing installations. I'll be glad to help and direct you to do it. Like last year I'm sure that there will also be plenty of others willing to lend a hand as well. Hope to see you there! Bill Morphy www.Mic-Mutes.com

Rode to Jacksonville yesterday. First time using intercom since getting new fairing under warranty and I also have the mic mute. Everytime I hit a bump in the road the intercom would activate. I would have to hit the ptt button to disengage the intercom. Also with the mic mute you hit the ptt button once and the intercom in engaged until you hit the ptt button again to disengage it but now you have to hold the ptt button continously until you are finished talking and then release the ptt button to disengage. What's up with dat? While the dealer had the bike installing the new fairing I asked him to put dielectric grease on all the connections while they had the fairing off. Is is possible they reconnected the mic mute in the wrong connector and caused this are is something else going on? Thanks for your suggestions. Also, thanks Ruffy for the m & e in Jacksonville. Food was excellent.

I dont have a royale 1st gen. but I want to add a PTT button to transmit on the FRS radios my riding club like over the CB. many guys have bought one and they install over the left controls and the big box hangs over and feels flimsy... Not impressive for the $125.00 they paid for it from autocom. The one I have is a big fat rubber one that velcros on but feels uncomfortable. Anyone have a good one they installed on their bike? I'm looking at using a chatterbox CB-50 intercom and it has a mic out and speaker in that works with most radios and cellphones. The Midland setup I have now works but is not comfortable to use nor does it use the bikes power so a 3 hour ride has 1 and a half hours of no communication due to dead batteries.

Was out for a ride with a friend today and noticed that almost every time I pushed the PTT button, the headlight warning light came out on the console. It only happened when it pushed the PTT button - never any other time. Any ideas what would cause that and where to look?

Does anyone know how to get to the rear Remote Control Unit. My PTT button fell off and I got my hand on a new Remote Control Unit. Now I need to install it. I know the trunk has to be removed to get close to it.

Okay since I got the bike in the fall of 05 and the novelty oy listening to the CB wore off (quickly) I haven't used the CB,now 38000 km later one of the guys that rides with got a Vision and we tried talking to each other but my Ptt button doesn,t work we had to communicate via my wife on the back. I sprayed contact cleaner in (from outside) no change,do I have to take it all apart and clean or replace anything and will anything fall apart when I remove the housing. . Ron

I installed the mic-mute on the bike and so far i'm not happy with it. We ride with ear plugs in and have the volume on the intercom up high. The mic-mute toggles the intercom but we get motor feedback no matter the ptt position. Anybody else have this problem, noticed it? We can eliminate the noise by turning down the intercom volume....but that defeats the purpose of the mic-mute!!!! Jim
