Hello again fellow forum friends. Klim- the world known gear manufacturer graced by doorstep with their latest Traverse line jacket and pants. They are definitely designed for on and off road adventure touring, which is what our brother @cowpuc does with his Gen 1, except he and his wife prefer jeans and t-shirts to Kevlar and Gortex. When I grow up and can ride half as safe as Cowpuc, I might consider reducing the amount of protective gear I wear. But until then, I will wear all gear all the time. First of all let me say that I have thought alot about this since yesterday morning. I want to make my feelings clear about some of the posts by inconsiderate members concerning you guessed it Protective gear It is not anyones right duty or responsibility for anyone to comment on whether someone not of your imediate family (you pay there way) on whether a rider does or does not wear there gear.No one tells you to wear your gear so you can stop making posts on threads about whether an injured rider would or would not be in better shape after and accident if they were wearing all or some if any of the protective gear they may or may not own or like to wear.I dont give my friends and addopted family any grief if they do or dont suit up to ride I only wear a helmet because its required in the state I live in.Mini doesnt like me not to wear one but thats between me and her and no one elses concern as far as I look at it. I know that this thread is probably going to be deleted and if that is the case so be it the moderators do a damn fine job of keeping things correct here.feel free not to send me a pm or call me if you dont like my additude about this because I most likely will offend you before you get to many words out. I hope that everyone that has been injured as of late makes a full and complete recovery and that is all you need to concern yourself about with a post of an injured rider.Ask yourself this if you dont chose to put on all of your protective gear before you run to the store to get a loaf of bread or other items and you get into an accident whose fault and concern is it if you crack you head or get some road rash ect? I have a Iphone 3g in an OtterBox case. I know RAM makes a mount but all that is pictured is an Iphone without the protective case. Anybody have one mounted or any solutions? Thanks in advance!

My wife just bought a 99,650 V-Star, her hands are small and the clutch does not release until the very end.Im wondering if I missed some kind of ajustment or is it something shes just going to have to live with.By the way this is her first bike and she is very protective of it.

...take the winter and buy some good protective riding gear! Those of you who ride in jeans, T-shirt and a half helmet may want to rethink your riding attire. The amount of accidents posted here is disturbing. I'm not saying gear would have helped prevent any of them but proper gear may have lessened injuries. Some are spending a lot of time blaming others for accidents and are looking to devices to add, petitions to sign but are we doing everything WE can do to minimize our injuries? Just cause it isn't a race bike doesn't mean we shouldn't wear good protective clothing & gear. New Enough has some good stuff or visit your local dealer and support his efforts.

I used to ride without them, then regular leather driving gloves. This year I picked up a pair of fingerless gloves with hard Kevlar knuckles. When you think about it this doesn't make much sense. I just picked up a new pair of gloves from JC Whitney. Gladiate-R Kevlar leather gloves. ($49.99) They are full fingered and offer great protection. They may be too warm for hot summer days, but this fall they will be great. Heck even today it's a bit cooler out (mid 70's) and they were just fine. A couple that we ride with locally was in a severe bike/semi accident. Both were wearing full head to toe protective gear. The husband died from blunt force trauma, but his wife survived. Neither had any road rash. My wife and I are spending the money now to get full protective gear. What happened to them convinced us it's worth the money.
