FYI: (Fri Aug 16) Just talked with Stephanie at Rivco about a center stand for my 2000MM RSV. She said if they can get 20 orders (with a deposit to be charged when the stand is shipped), they will make a production run of RSV001 which is their center stand for '98 and newer Ventures. Their catalog shows a price of $349.95.. She said they have several calls/orders now and looking for minimum of 20.. Ask for her at 1-888-801-8222 www.rivcoproducts.com Thanks.. (I have no interest in Rivco in any way...other than purchase a center stand)

I seen this in old threads. I know the original designer is no longer with us. Does anyone have one laying around they would like to sell or has anyone taken over production? Looks like a great way to mount a couple gauges.

I was wondering how many Gen 1 Ventures are left out there? How many were sold over the production run until new style came along? Just curious ..... cheers, gary

I got this link in my email today, it's for an early '80s designed HD that never made it to production. Too bad too, it looks pretty interesting. http://big-diesel.blogspot.com/2007/09/nova-harley-davidson-which-was-never.html

Sony announced that it is stopping production of the cassette based Walkman unit. Maybe this will finally convince Yamaha that a cassette player is no longer needed on the Venture?

I have heard that BMW is discontinuing the current LT model, and it may be a few years for the next version with the new 6 cylinder engine. Honda has stopped production of the Goldwing in the US, and there are rumors that when touring bike production resumes back in Japan it may not be with the Goldwing. And of course we all know the current 2010 Yamaha RSV stopped production back in 09 so as to avoid having to meet the new 2010 EPA regs, and there seems to be no new model full dress Yamaha in the works yet. So for 2011 people looking at buying a new full dress touring bike will be choosing from HD, Victory or Kawasaki, or looking for unsold inventory from the other three. If anyone has any concrete info on what is or isn't happening, I'd love to hear it.

Not really a big surprise but still not good. Yamaha's production numbers are actually down by 60.8%. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-news/statistics/motorcycle-sales-statistics.htm

I recently picked up a spare Venture engine that was listed as a 1983 Yamaha Venture Royale XVZ12TDK. I am curious if this is the true year of production. The motor number is 31M-002788. Does anyone know of a online cross-reference for the Venture engine numbers to production years. The number range for each year would be really helpful. If someone has a bike with an engine that is close to mine would be useful also. I have searched this forum and others for a cross-reference and various online search engines without anything useful popping up. Thanks for any help..

Yamaha to close motorcycle production lines for 10 days January 19th, 2009 Responding to slumping sales Yamaha is following the road taken by several other manufacturers and cutting back on its motorcycle production and temporarily shutting some facilities. Japan's Yamaha Motor Co Ltd made the announcement on Friday, confirming it would cut output by halting production at 11 facilities amid the global economic slump. Yamaha said in a release it would stop production for seven to 10 days in February and March at facilities making motorcycles, recreational vehicles, marine sports vehicles, industrial robots and parts. At the New York International Motorcycle Show Honda released the Honda Fury, which was teased with last month... Basically, it is production chopper based off the 1300 VTX BUT it's 1312cc V-Twin is fuel injected...which is kinda odd to me being their actuall 1300 VTX is carburated... Too me, it is a littel late in the game and doesn't have near the style of a Yamaha Raider...but that is just me... Although, I do like that matte black... click here for more info

Hello everyone. My post here is to let everyone know that I'll be suspending production of the Stebel horn brackets for a while. I'm in the midst of doing some home remodeling and just don't have the time or space in my garage at the moment to devote to making anymore for now. I will continue making them for as long as there's a demand for them thou, so just consider this a temporary set back till I can get back into production again Thanks to all who have purchased one to date. have you all seen this yet about the new plates looks cool The North Carolina General Assembly has passed legislation introduced by Senator Joe Sam Queen and Representative Phil Haire, authorizing the Blue Ridge Parkway Motorcycle specialty license tag during its 2007 session; the tag is authorized for production after January 1, 2008. The Foundation has the remaining calendar months of 2007 to enroll as many registrants as possible; a minimum of 300 is required.
