Filled up the truck last night and was surprised to see the price has dropped below a buck a Litre. Yep! $0.99 / Litre That's like $4.50/Gal Imperial or $3.75/Gal US Last summer we saw prices as high as $1.52/Litre or $6.91/Gal Imperial ... $5.70/Gal US Hope it stays or even drops more.

Just had an bad experience with Motorcycle-Superstore.com . I bought a set of Avon Venoms for my 99 RSV. I looked at a couple of different sites I felt like their prices were good, saw their low price guarantee and decided to go ahead and buy. Another user on here afterward suggested checking the prices over at DennisKirk.com and what do you know, they had their rear Venom for $17 less, may not seem like a lot but we ride for 200 miles on that much. So I called M-S.com to get my price match guarantee this morning and they refused..... Go check it our for yourselves 150/90v-15 at DK.com = $153.43 at M-S.com 169.99. Both offer free shipping. So what's the deal? Motorcycle-Superstore.com will not get any more of my business!

Hey Folks, I just came accross a Yamaha dealer that has the best online oem parts and accessory prices I have ever seen. Recently I had to buy a new front cowling for my 07 Midnight Venture and started searching online dealers to see what prices were out there. And I started with MR Cycles out of Ashville, NC who I had bought from before, where I felt they had some of the best discounts on oem parts. Well for some reason I decided to Google the part number and at the top of the search was Stadium Yamaha with a price of $711 for a $1,000 part, which was about $100 less than any of the usual discount dealerships including Ron Ayers, MR Cycles, Bike Bandit, etc. When I did the math, this came to a 30% discount. I felt this dealership was in the DFW Metroplex, but when I looked further I discovered it was really my old Irving Yamaha dealership, under a new owner and name. So I called their on-line parts manager Kirk Gross and discovered that they are purposely going after this oem on-line parts market and are discounting oem parts and accessories as low as Yamaha will allow. And like other dealers that do this, Yamaha has to deliver parts to them and they turnaround and ship it to you via UPS and do not mark the shipping up any. So, if you are ever in the market for a new Yamaha oem part, you really need to take a look at this dealership and their on-line prices. Here is the link to their site: http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/ And if you need to talk to a real person, you can contact Kirk Gross 972-445-0825 Hope this helps, Rick

I'm going to hold all of my current prices for my items I make for another full season here. Current prices have been in effect for two years now but I know that by years end I'm going to have to raise them due to higher shipping and material costs. Anyhow everyone can expect my items holding at the current level till then when I'll reevaluate after the new year starts. Larry

I recorded all the action last week, and now I'm finally getting around to watching the auction. Nice thing is, when recorded, I can fast-forward thru all the advertisements... and a lot of the auctions too. Seen one Camero Rat you've seen them all.... and there are always a bunch. One thing I noticed immediately on the first day the bid prices were up a bit from the past, and not as many 'wish-I-was-there-buys'. When i got into day two it seemed to me that car prices had doubled. Friday was even worse, and I just watched the first half of Saturday and started thinking... Wow!! only $85,000... what a steal.... A Shelbie GT350 ruster went for $350,000, and was lost among a bunch of 1.0-2.6 million bids. You gotta be kidding me.... Add the buyers premium and tax and those 2.5's add up to three very large..!! I remember when the place would erupt when a rare bid hit a mill. I'm wondering what these folks know that the common folks don't.. Sure they all have museums, and I suppose there's a way to write off the purchase, but I can't believe the IRS is going to buy into some of the prices. Anyway it's got me befuzzled. I saw one old 110 year old geezer buy 3 or 4 cars for 1 million plus... I bet he lost his drivers license 30 years ago... Anyway it's been interesting so far. Saturday night and Sunday are still in the can.... and can hardy wait....

I have owned 3 different Yamaha Motorcycles the last 15 years. Since 2007 I have been riding a 2006 RSV. I love the bike and have put 34,000 miles on the bike. I had been taking my motorcycle to the same dealer in Columbus for 14 years. I had always received more than adequate service even though the prices were a little high. Last summer the service department went through a change and the quality went straight downhill. My bike was in the shop 4 straight weeks last summer because they cracked a tab on my fairing, forgot to order a few parts, and for the most part were about as rude to me as anyone has ever been. I had been in contact with Yamaha customer relations and they recommended I take my bike to the Iron Pony for regular maintenance. I dropped my bike off there last week to have the steering head bearing looked at, valve adjustment, carb sync, oil change, and overall inspection. This has been by far the best service experience I have had to date! Their prices are ½ of what I was paying, they are professional, polite, and very knowledgeable. Chris, the assistant service manager, was able to replace my steering head bearing under factory warranty. I was very appreciative of this as my warranty expires in 4 weeks. I strongly recommend this service department and look forward to them keeping my bike running well and safe!

My Lady Linda is wanting a Miata. I have been looking around the Local Swap and Shop and Craigslist and have found a few, but the biggest problem is she just has to have an automatic trans. The other concern is when looking at prices, Kelly Blue Book is showing about half or a little more worth for what people are asking. And, it is not uncommon for someone to be asking these prices with over 200,000 miles on them. So, does anyone have any suggestions on what to look for or to avoid? I did find an automatic that the guy said had 530 hp in the V-8 engine that is in it, but I can not talk her into that one and he wants $15,000 for it anyway. RandyA

Ok guys, if you need a new rear tire, or are going to need a new tire in the near future you better get it ordered. As I have stated many times before, I always check with Motorcyclesuperstore first when thinking about ordering something. Well, today I got an email about a sale they were having on tires so I thought well maybe I'd get a better deal than the last(which was pretty good 130.99, I thought) which was an E3 rear for Biggal. To my surprise the sale price was 141.99!!! I thought this had to be a mistake so I called them up and they confirmed that price. When asked if I wanted to order I said no. Hung up the phone and checked Jake Wilson and they have the same tire for 130.99. So I guess the oil prices are beginning to affect everything else. Like I said, if you need or gonna need a new tire soon Jake Wilson has the best deal right now. They may even be higher in a few days!!!!!

We just as well get ready because we are going to be paying some record prices for gas this year. It looks like this deal in Libya is going to have more impact than the one in Egypt. And, there is no telling how much oil prices will go up when the people of Saudi Arabia decide that don't want to be ruled by a monarchy any longer. RandyA

After sloshing around the internet the other day I found this site in Texas who was offering OEM parts for up to 40% off. Prices were a little cheaper then Sports Plaza and Part Shark so I gave them a try. http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/

I do believe I would take it all apart and sell every piece if I could get the prices being noted on ebay. I would then buy me another 1st gen, a 2nd gen and pay my house off. I have never sold anything on ebay, so I don't know the particulars, but does it cost anything to list something if it does not sell? I am seeing things like $164 for one mirror off an 87, and we aren't even talking new here. I am also seeing many parts that most just throw or give away because there is so little need for them with outragous prices on them. Normally, when I am surfing Venture parts on ebay, I always go "auction only" and "ending soon". Usually this sorts out most of this stuff, but being bored at lunch here at work and looking at all catagories, I am astounded at what people think they have. And, if thay are not asking rediculously high prices up front, they are wanting extremely high shipping costs. OK, I will quit venting as I did get a TCI last week for an 84/90 1st gen for $16.50 and about $6 shipping. RandyA

Hello all. This would be my first real post here. Turns out I need some parts or advice. What a way to start off, heh? I have a 83 VR. Mk1. (Is that correct?) Two of the carb slides are giving me issues. It seems that they have separated. On one, the plastic slide has broken apart. The other was intact, so I just pressed it back together. Should I worry about the reassembled one? Is gluing the other back together feasible? I have all the parts. I have gathered these are quite expensive, and not that common. If I have to pay dealer prices, just two would be almost what I paid for the bike! The breaks look clean and very recent. Any ideas how they broke? Did I cause this? Funny thing is, I had her running before tearing into the carbs. Would not idle, but ran none the less. She sat for a couple of years non-running before I came along. Should I post a WTB somewhere? THANKS IN ADVANCE Michael

I found a dealer that is cheaper than the dealers here in Tenn. I never bought a gun out of state from a dealer, so I called and was surprise I can't buy one unless it ship to a dealer here which he will make a profit and after all said and done I'm back at the prices here.. Is there a way around this?

I had a local shop (Pitbull Motorcycle Lifts) make me a cooler rack today. I got it bare, and painted it, then added my own lights. If anyone is interested in one, he is going to draw me up some prices with black paint or powder coat. I will know prices in about a week. You will have to add your own lights.

I have recommended this site to a few friends who have raved about the prices compared to buying locally. Today I had the chance to try them out. I needed to replace the rear door window regulator on my SUV. Prices ranged from 182.00 to 250.00 depending on the location. I looked up www.rockauto.com and found my part for 141.00 shipped. Ordered it this AM and was shipped today!! Most of their prices are heavily discounted compared to suppliers like Advance auto and Auto Zone.If you do your own work you owe it to yourselves to check this place out. A friend saved major bucks on front end parts for his Camry by using Rock Auto.

Mineral Managment Service has suspended US drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. Hopefully this will not last too long. 77 rigs under contract right now in the GOM. another 46 not on contract as of this week. They are going to allow work over of the current wells. Also other countries not under MMS control can continue... If this last very long it could mean around 15,000 or more folks will be layed off. This could very easily cause spikes in Oil prices and we could see it at the pumps... No word on when it will be lifted. BTW...not trying to start an argument about whether they should or should not drill in the gulf after the on going disaster...just wanted to let you good folks know what is going on if you see a spike in prices.

I've been seeing more and more ads and commercials about how important "keeping it local" is. I have no problem with that all. I support my local butcher and fruit/vegetable farmers as much as I can. But then there's just about everything else a guy needs. The local grocery and hardware stores have way over inflated prices, and that's only if you happen to be able to find what you need. One of the lacal hardware stores wanted $4.50/ft. for some chain for my snow-blower. I found it in the next town over at a Mennonite owned hardware store for $1.56/ft. So I end up driving 45 minute to Wally World where it's cheaper. But then they still don't carry a good share of the things I'm looking for. And if you ask they usually say it's seasonal or just plain have no idea what I'm asking for. It's gotten hard to find someone who knows what their talking about behind the counter at some the auto parts stores. Menards and Best Buy seldom ever have anything I need. So I end up doing most of my business online. So I have to wonder if the same people who put on those ads saying to "keep it local", ever talk to the "local" businesses about their extremely high prices. I think that if they were asking fair prices, I would have no problem doing more of my business with them. Is it because I'm getting older? Am I turning into my Dad?!?!

Thanks Al Gore for inventing the internet. (its a joke, not political). That being said, the bulb in my DLP tv blew this AM. It was 2 1/2 years old. Went to the recommended Toshiba site and the cost was about 230 bucks. Did a web search and found a whole spectrum of prices and quality of parts. Some prices were 280.00 to as low as 99.00. After doing much searching and reading the company reviews and warranties I settled on www.advancedlamps.com which offered a 6 month vs 3 month warranty and a new, not refurbished product like some other companies. Total cost with shipping was 129.00. Sometimes it pays to do a little "searching".
