OK...now I have your attention I should mention that I am not afraid nor looking for someone to be brave. What I need is a single ball bearing steel ball. I have a "princess auto", air and hydraulic bike table lift with a release pedal. probably made in China The pedal pulls a pin on bottom of the hydraulic bottle which allows a steel ball to open a port, releasing the pressure and allowing the oil to flow thru an outlet port back into the reservoir. I lost that steel ball and you wouldn't believe the problems I have been having trying to find a replacement. Princess Auto themselves were no help....and the manual doesn't specify the size. or where you can order parts One company would only sell me a bag of 100 for $12.95 It is deep inside the base but as near as I can eyeball it with my micrometer it is 0.141" or 3.62 mm. Closest match is 1/8" which is .125" or 3.19 mm If anyone has one single ball bearing or a few different ones around that size and would be willing to throw it in an envelope and mail it to me I would appreciate it!!!!! The lift is useless without it. The shaft that pushes the ball bearing into the port to plug the pressure has a bad o'ring...so it leaks like a sieve. That's why I pulled it apart. That shaft is Spring loaded...I never even saw the ball bearing go flying out.

OK so I have 3 (probably simple) questions about doing an upgrade to R6 front brakes with stainless lines; I am also going to delink the system. I am going to order the calipers tomorrow. #1 As for the master cylinder will my current one work (IE is mine a 14mm or a 5/8)? #2 When I remove a line from the rear master cylinder what port will I use for the new brake and what port will I block off? And what kind of bolt do I use to block that port off? #3 For the front lines is a V-Max splitter necessary to use or can I use something like this https://www.denniskirk.com/russell/brake-line-fitting-male-3-t-junction-r4298c.p191349.prd/191349.sku OR just run a double banjo bolt and 2 seperate lines from the master to the calipers? I looked and could not find a clear answer to my question, and I know they are probably simple to answer. Thanks ahead of time everyone! And yes I know I said I have 3 questions and there was closer to 4

I bought a set of Burners high performance driving light kits QH-87CD which cost me only $18, and I mounted it on the edge of my Hoppe Quadzilla fairing on my 2006 Midnight RSTD. I wired it in to the CC port of the fuse box behind the lower front right cowling so that they come on with my headlight when I start the bike up. Check out my pix and here is the the link to the the lights on the Walmart website. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Driving-Light-Kit/16680058

A photog friend has a few GoPro's etc. so we filmed this little video in honour of a passed friend, his favourite run. Around the 3:00 mark, if you look real careful, you can make out the Port Colborne Optical Illusion, whereby the factory in the distance gets smaller as you get closer. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/photo.php?v=437896996268684

I have a 2006 RSV with 43,133 miles. Has anyone installed any type of aftemarket radio and or radio/amp? My amp is toasted and the cost for a new one is $1,300. I found several on ebay for around $300. I dont use the CB, I have removed the cassette deck, added a port for my iphone in the faring, and I also removed my plugs for the intercom. Basically all I use are the radio and Aux for my iphone. I have found several marine grade radio's with built in amps etc....just wondering if anyone might have some suggestions on aftermarket stuff.

I figure I'm going to leave around 6:00 am....that'll get me to Toronto around 8:30-9:00 or so. Anybody want to hook up and ride to Port Dover? I lived in Hamilton and Dunnville for over 30 years but never made it to Dover for a Friday 13th! Now I'm almost 5 hours away I'm going to go!

The wife has a trip planned to go to some drive through animal safari type place in Port Clinton, Ohio. My daughter and her brood will drive down and the wife and I will take the scooter. We are looking for a decent (read good, but not break the bank good) hotel to stay at the Friday night before and/or maybe Saturday night as well. We'd like to be on the lake, but realize that may be too expensive. Maybe even some place between Toledo and Port Clinton. Anyone familiar with this area that can make any suggestions? Thanks...

Any locals (or not so local) going to Port Dover next month??

Just wondering if anyone else from my neck of the woods is heading out to Port Dover on Friday? The weatherman is still calling for decent weather. Andy

This isn't a Trans Am Forum but there seems to be vast knowledge on this site. Since I bought my 91 Trans Am with a 305 Tune Port - it is hard to start after it sits for two days. If I pump the gas some it will eventually start - once it starts it seems good. Then - about two weeks ago it started to act like the fuel filter was plugged. So I replaced the filter and the MAT sensor. Seems to run better but still runs like it has bad gas. At a stop sign - I drop it into first (it is an auto) and drive it hard through the gears and it runs great. Any ideas?

A couple of places worth the ride: Fish & Chips - Minor Fisheries in Port Colborne on West St. right along the Welland Canal, has the BEST fish&chips ... either pickerel or perch fresh caught from Lake Erie. Makes Port Dover look like over priced crap... oh yeah 5 or 6 piece perch dinner $8.50!!! Roast Beef on a Bun: Tally Ho Restaurant on Main St East in Hamilton, smothered in gravy, fine sliced heaven on a bun!! Fancy Shmancy place: Niagara College has a culinary course, the students also run a restaurant that is overseen by chefs. It is called Benchmark, and a $25 plate at a high end place goes for about $17 here. A little cheaper, but fancy food .... ie lamb, steak etc.

Ok well I ran into a SWEET deal on some close-out stuff at the HD dealer. I have picked up a safety chrome tip for the front fender, some neat lighted fork covers and a seat-pad that measures out to be the right height and width but about 1 inch long. Snagged all of this for 65 bucks!!! I also have decided to install an axillary power port, but have no idea where to put it, any ideas? Well that is about it for now. Course you know my wife thought that this was going to be a get it up and running and go, well guess not.LOL. Shaun

I'm contemplating dumping my Sirius radio in favour of an mp3 player. I know nothing about these things as I've never had one so am looking for a little guidance. What do ya'll use? Does it plug into the aux port on the scoot? How do you keep it charged up? How did you mount it on your scoot? How much did it cost? Any other info you can provide? ...and I am cheap so don't want to give up my arm and leg for one. Thanks

just got the lower end back together on the engine. billet rod, and new cam with a little more duration, and lift. next is the head. i usually port my own heads. but this time i bought a new one that is milled .100", ported and flowed, heavier springs, and a three angle valve job. i never realized there was so much available for these honda motors till i searched the net.. right now i,m up in the air on the carb. i am considering a 34 mm mikuni flat side. because the intake port is huge. i really wanted a smaller carb for lowend torque. i'm also considering roller rocker arms. only have 3 months before the arkansas spring cushman meet so i need to get my butt in gear.

I want to put a USB port in the fairing of my '07. I will use it to power an iPhone. My question for any shade tree electricians is: Can I just run the USB straight to a power source? Do I need to regulate voltage going to the port? I don't care if I fry the USB port, I just don't want to fry my phone when I plug it in! Thanks in advance for any advice/tips/warnings!

Last Friday I encountered, for the first time in the 112,000 miles that I have ridden this bike, fuel coming from one of the over flow tubes. Once I isolated the correct carburator, which was the right rear one, I pulled the hose off going to the fuel inlet port and blew compressed air into the bowl. It did blow some gas out of at least one of the top jets, but after I started the bike up, it fixed the problem. Since then, I have put almost 600 miles on it and it is running great. If you don't have compressed air, you could probably just spray some carb cleaner into the inlet port and do the same thing, especially if you can seal up the inlet tube and spray tube some. RandyA

Here's a pic of my bike on the dock at Tofino, BC in the middle of a 4500 km ride we took from Edmonton over to Prince Rupert, ferry down to Port Hardy and then a few days spent exploring some great roads on Vancouver Island. There are some fantastic twisties there!! Gold River, Tofino, Port Renfrew, and all!! We had some rain on the north part of the island but it was sunny and warm after Port Renfrew!!!

Yesterday I decided to get out and replace a hatch port on a dinghy I have listed for sale. It came with just the ring. The screw in center disc was missing. The new port was about a 1/4" larger than the OEM ring. No problem, I have a Roto-Zip... The Zip came with a circle cutter that I've never had the chance to use, but it looked simple enough. The plan of attack was to cut a hole in a piece of plywood and then use it as a guide along with a veining bit to enlarge the hole in the dinghy. Well... let me tell you... that thing sucks. I started with a piece of ply about 4' long, and ended up screwing up the entire piece. But.... I did end up with 5 side stand discs... And I bet you thought this thread wasn't going to be motorcycle related....

I was looking through the AMSOIL brochure and found Amsoil Spray Grease. See the link for specific details of this grease. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/glcspray.aspx Anyway a though occured to me and I am wondering what you think about this idea. Would this or similair grease, but a spray type grease being sprayed into the access port on top of the engine side drive shaft knuckle/driveshaft gear be sufficient lubrication? Even if you would do it a couple times/year. I have never looked into this port yet but all of the posts say you can feel the knuckle that accepts the shaft end so spraying this grease, maybe with tube on the end of the spray can to direct the grease better should get it on the gearing. Granted this is no substitute for a complete lube job tear down but maybe in between lubing when the tire doesn't need to be taken off, could it be effective? Or is this grease simply not suitable for this type of application? What do you all think???

Another Failed Goverment Program TWIC=Transportation Worker Identification Credential. A passport would not do...driver license would not do...So they developed the TWIC card. This is happening all over the place. We have to have them before entering some ports, before boarding vessels, and offshore production platforms. Requires (more than passport) multiple forms of ID ...finger printing...back ground check and a big long process to get, along with $132. Got a recent DWI, or past Drug charge or other spec of dirt on your record...prettty good chance you will be DENIED. These contain RFID like the new passports to transmitt all your personal data. See this from the news. Two men face charges after allegedly using fake TWIC ID cards to work at the Port of Fourchon, LA. The men, Ernesto Cordova, 25, and Roosevelt Amores, 32, were reportedly charged with illegal entry into critical infrastructure, in addition to invalid driver’s license charges after a security employee noticed several misspelled words on the fake TWIC cards. “It was a pretty good duplication,” Callais told the Houma Courier. “Only with the trained eye would you see there were some differences between that and a regular TWIC.” The men also are under suspicion for being the in U.S. illegally, the Courier newspaper also reported. According to the article, Harbor Police Chief Jon Callais said that the guard’s port training helped him zero in on the suspected workers. The Courier article didn’t say how many days the pair had used the fake TWIC cards to illegally enter the port, but the Port of Fourchon had been requiring TWIC cards for access for nearly a month at the time of arrest. Police said the men worked for the Danos and Curole offshore-service company. Callais told the New Orleans City Business publication in 2007 that Port Fourchon was vulnerable to terrorism at that time because it had “no cargo tracking system, no incoming vessel identification, no gates and no way to track workers.”

From information I have seen in other threads, the 1983 TCI is a unique version. This seems to be due to the vacuum port placement above the throttle plate on the carbs, in combination with a unique vacuum sensor. Question is, what are the thoughts on using a later model TCI, such as an 86-89 version coupled with a vacuum sensor change. I have a sensor that came off of an 88. Also drilling one carb body and installing vacuum port below throttle plate. Plugging existing port. Reason I am asking is I am in need of a replacement TCI and 83's are about as scarce as chickens teeth. I have carbs off of the bike, so that would facilitate adding port. What would this do to HP of bike. Gary

Looking at one of these for my FJ Cruiser and just wondering if it might be made to work and fit in the cassette hole on a 2nd gen? Does the RSV have an ODB II port? I saw where they use these on the Triumph Rocket, I guess it has the ODB port, or maybe an interface cable could be made? http://www.scangauge.com/ http://www.scangauge.com/assets/graphics/IMG_2009_withdims.jpg
