Your morning devotional. Classic example: At dinner, a little boy was forced to lead the family into prayer. The little boy said" but I don't know how to pray. His Dad said "just pray for your family members, friends and neighbors, the poor, etc. The little boy said "Dear Lord. Thank you for our visitors and their children, who finished all my cookies and ice cream. Bless them so they won’t come again. Forgive our neighbor's son, who removed my sister's clothes and wrestled with her on her bed. This coming Christmas, please send clothes to all those poor naked ladies on my daddy's blackberry and provide shelter for the homeless men who use mom's room when daddy is at work. AMEN" Mom and Dad did not have dinner that evening......

Hi all. Well after years of turning one of my ventures in to chopper trike I am very happy with the outcome, few things still to be worked out and one of them is the carbs, The combo I have is a 83 motor with 87 stock carbs, stock air box and filter with Harley stock pipes I am very lean on the air fuel ratio all carbs read the same , two turns out on the pilot resulted in a white spark plug poor mid range, poor top end, and with 100 miles of test driving I am now at four turns on the pilot from full in, all spark plugs now reads gray in colour, on the road trike rides with OK mid range and poor top end power/ pulling power. So from here I'm thinking just go up one on the main jet, or should I go with 83 jets and needles to better suit the 83 motor, on ebay there is a jet kit for the 1200 and a kit tor the 1300 motor, not sure if I want or need to go that far as I don't know which kit to go with the 12 or the 13. Any one who has been down the road on this one I would love to have some input, thanks

83 Standard. Looking into cleaning up a rats nest of wiring and would like to have some input on whether I should eliminate the cb/intercom system. If I do I would add in a conventional am/fm radio in its place for those times the wife might want to hear some tunes. For me I'd never use either of them due to poor hearing. Considering the bike I thought keeping it simple would be the way to go. Thoughts pro & con are welcome. Larry

Ok I've lost my list of favorite online vendors when my pc had to be replaced a couple months back. Who do ya all recommend. I'm looking for OEM parts. Checked the local dealer with poor results on pricing besides the fact I still have to order all my items. That just sucks so may as well order all I need online anyhow. Had already checked Yamahapartshouse.com. Thanks in advance, Larry

Last week while my freshly restored and painted 87 XVZ1300 Venture Royale was parked innocently in front of my house, minding it's own business. A neighbor lady came down the road going to fast for conditions, failing to maintain lanes, texting on her cell phone, doing her make up, fiddling with the radio or who knows what the H*ll she was doing came to wide around the corner crossing the road and nailed my bike. Did I say my poor bike was minding it own business. Turns out she happens to be the Attorney for the insurance company she is insured with (Cincinnati Insurance). I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. She did stop and leave her information with my roommate then went home. But, that did not seem to matter to the responding police officer that came to write the police report. Because he made every indication that he was going to cruise down to her house a block away and arrest her for leaving the scene of the accident (Especially when he found out she was an attorney) but evidently settled for citing her for failure to maintain lane. She did have an adjuster get in touch with me the next day. The adjuster came by and looked at the bike. She was nice and seemed to commiserate with me while I explained, in great detail, (with tears in my eyes). That I had just finished spending the past year and hundreds, (If not Thousands ) of man hours painstaking restoring my poor baby with my own blood, sweat and tears This fine example of Classic Motorcycle technology and history. After hearing the story she insinuated, in fact even said (with tears in her eyes) just tell me what the damage is and we'll cut you a check QUICK. She even said QUICK several times, with emphasis. I'm thinking:mo money: So, I spent the next day putting an estimate together which included the following: Cost of damaged parts at Yamaha's MSRP...............around $3,600 Painting materials to match custom freshly done paint job.......480.00 Labor at prevailing shop rates......................................85.00/hr. Total estimate around .................$5,400 Next thing I heard from the adjuster, via voice mail message, (in an emotionally detached voice), "An appraiser will be getting in touch with you". So, the appraiser will be coming out in the morning. I'm just betting he will say Used 1987 motorcycle totaled at some ridiculously low number. I'm thinking I would sell my first born male child into slavery for a fraction of what this bike is worth to me in blood, sweat and tears for all of the hours I've put into this labor of love. Based on the foregoing, what would you think would be a reasonable position to take to settle this claim and put this whole unfortunate incident behind me and move on. Considering, I'm not willing to forfeit the bike and title as totaled since the damage is all cosmetic and I would do all the work myself.

Looked almost like MARCARL (poor guy!) ANYBODY FROM HERE?

A farmer and his brand new bride were riding home from the chapel in a wagon pulled by a team of horses, when the older horse stumbled. The farmer said, "That's once." A little further along, the poor old horse stumbled again. The farmer said, "That's twice." After a little, while the poor old horse stumbled again. The farmer didn't say... anything, but reached under the seat, pulled out a shotgun and shot the horse. His brand new bride raised all kind of hell with him, telling him, "That was an awful thing to do." The farmer said, "That's once."

I've read all the threads that I could find for help. None seem to solve my problem. Rather than repeat it here, I've provided a link to the Poor Man's Tips and Fixes thread where I've detailed the problem. Thanks for any help you can give. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34376

I'm going to try to post pictures of my bike with the covers. First of all - they are a pain to put on! Second, I think the quality of leather is a bit poor and maybe the person was in a hurry when he made them. I'm okay with it but not thrilled.

You know it has been a GOOD day when you have to fill your bike up twice in the same day. No, I don't feel sorry for you poor sucker who had to work today. PS. No, I didn't dump the bike over and lose all my gas.

I know Rain-X is not good for plastic. Is there anything safe for our windshields to bead water off when riding in the rain. I've tried waxing with poor results. thanks

I cut myself and bleed like a stuck hog almost ever time I shave.I been using a Gillette Mach 3 system for years with no problem. It must be old age and poor eyesight. Have they made any improvements with those electric shavers? Or should I go looking like BEER 30?

Finally got Don's trike painted the way he wants. At least for now, he says. A friend painted flames on the front fairing, front fender, tank & rear fenders. Another friend painted Don's signature "B2 Stealth" on the back trunk lid. I think it looks really great. Wanted to share it with you. It was such a beautiful day today and poor guy still can't ride. Hopefully his hand will heal soon and he will be on the road while poor me is at work making that "gas money". LOL! Let us know what you think. Last night I was at a meeting till 10:00pm. The meeting was held in a back room of a bar that is sometimes a "biker bar" Once I came out of the meeting and saw my poor old scoot, I was floored, it was vandalized. My nice burgundy venture was now covered with white stuff. I didn't even recognize it as mine at first. But since it was still 45 deg when I left the house, mine was the only bike there. All of the other wusses have already stored there bikes for the winter. Upon closer examination my poor old scoot was covered by about a 1/8 inch thick layer of................. ......................... frost. I had to bum an ice scraper to clear the windscreen to be able to drive home. It was Ma Nature that vandalized my ride. By the time I got home the temp had dropped to 31 degrees. I'm not sure what the wind chill is for 31 deg at 80-90 MPH. After the last couple of days I am convinced that Ma Nature is out to get me.

I found an excellent GPS for a buddy of mine for his bike. He's quite poor and cant afford a $690.00 Gps so I found him one for $60.00 that is beautiful to read in direct sunlight and at night. It's a Garmin iQue 3600. the car kit we modified to screw it to the bike's dash and it works great. He can even play mp3's on it. No the maps are not current but that does not matter to him. (Or me, I am happy with 2 year old maps) It's the cheapest GPS I could find that you can shine a 60,000,000CP flashlight at it and you can still read it. Just a tip for the poor guys out there. No it's not waterproof. it does not have XM,Sirius,Onstar, or anything else in it like that. I'm getting a second one for me and selling the current GPS I have because of it's huge screen.

Had an encounter on my way to work tonight. RSV 1 : opossum 0. I have often wondered how this big ole bike would handle such an encounter and those brand new avons mowed right over that poor animal. I had no time to initiate braking measures which I think was probably a good thing as it happend accelerating out of a curve. Be careful out there guys.

My poor baby got a ticket! Riding to work this morning Steve was in front of a big rig and behind a cop. The cop slowed down to 40 mph on the freeway then pulled Steve over. He wrote my baby a ticket for following too close. He will be fighting this one. I believe Steve's words were "You put my life in danger pinning me in front of that big truck just to write me a ticket!"

Ok I don't know who's responsible but whoever it is needs to go apologize to mother nature. We got SNOW today. Yes I said SNOW the stuff we don't get. I live in NC along the Albemarle sound. We never get snow in Nov, heck we're lucky if we get any in Dec. Thankfully it's melting but it came none the less and I wasn't happy. My poor miniature rose I left outside with all its blooms on it, hope it'll be ok. I usually bring it in if it's still got flowers on it. I'm done I've had it winter needs to end. I moved south so I didn't have to deal with this stuff. Ok I'm done ranting. Margaret

Picked this up in an email today, wanted to share it. One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, 'How was the trip?' 'It was great, Dad.' 'Did you see how poor people live?' the father asked. 'Oh yeah,' said the son. 'So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?' asked the father The son answered: 'I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.' The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, 'Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.' Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have. Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends! Pass this on to family, friends and acquaintances and help them refresh their perspective and appreciation. "Life is too short and friends are too few!"

I wont tell you what it is about, accept that it is related to motorcycles and nothing like the Nigerian thread in the past but it is quite funny and the biggest ripping (Seriously poor guy) at the same time. This particular thread has been all over the world. You will see what I mean as you read it. Before you click the below link, I want you to know that there are a few choice words used on a few posts (Not many really) a couple of PG pictures and maybe one R picture (I saw no nudes). http://www.zxforums.com/forums/zx-6r-forum/14462-fi-light-need-help.html
