I was out riding today and stopped at one of my favorite view sites on the southern end of the Big Island. For those who know, this is right above Whittington Beach Park in the District of Ka'u. It was a GLORIOUS day!
To the right you'll see the plume that is emitted from the Pu'u O'o vent at Kilauea Volcano. It is responsibly for all the Vog (google it) here on the Big Island.
On the right side you'll see (not very well though) the steam plume from where the lava is entering the ocean. Basically the island is growing. In about 100,000 years that's gonna be one heck of a nice beach!
