Well after a lot of tough decision making, my beautiful '07 RSV is now somone else's ride. The GL 1800 is a lot more comfortable (for me) with it's lower center of gravity. I feel much more confident on it, 'specially when riding two up. Seat height is a little shorter also, and I can put my feet flat on the ground. Here is my problem. I installed a Kuryakyn heel-toe shifter and it included a shiny chrome plated left foot peg mount (bracket). The bike still has a dull grey OEM mount on the right side. I tried to buy just the right side mount, but the customer rep at Kury said no way, only way to get one is to buy their kit that has both left and right mounts, and use just the one. I tried to convince them that they should either put one in the heel-toe shifter kit or at least have one available to purchase seperately, but the answer was "it is what it is". Any suggestions? Yeh,I know, pull it off and get it plated. Other than that?-?-?-?

Just thinking. I used to play quite a bit on there and grabbed a lot of 1st Gen parts to add to my collection. Lately seems if most think they are gold plated?? They want as much as I would for my parts!!! Or they jack shipping up so high it is stupid to try for them?

Trying to brainstorm an idea. Is there anyone out there that has connections or resources to having ABS plastic chrome plated? I've serched on the web and there are several out there that do this and in several was. My idea was to "bling" up the air cleaner covers. Much like the way you can get the chrome Ignition cover for the RSV. I know there air the billet covers offered by Yamaha, but costly as well as having to get the K&N air filters. One quot I got was having both covers chrome plated very much the same way you would have metal chrome plated for $85 to $105 each. Have contacted several other companies out there but have not gotten any answers yet!! Just thinking there might be someone here that might know someone or a buisness locally that might be able to do it for a little less!!! Thanks, Dennis

I have the front end of my bike removed due to me replacing the cracked inner fairing & replacing the steering stem bearings (since I'm in there...). My fork lower show the 48K of wear and tear and I'm thinking of either getting them and the shrouds polished or chrome plated. Can someone list the pros and cons of either approach? I'm thinking chroming will cost more but is it more durable and less maintenance intensive than polishing?
