Linda and I decided to get away for an overnight and decided to go to Gatlinburg to see the Christmas lights before the end of the year. We got a room in Pigeon Forge on the river and after a nap, rode up to Gatlinburg to eat and do the usual walk through town. For a Thursday night, there were a lot of folks in town. Today, we took a ride through Cades Cove and even at this time of year, there was a lot of traffic. We did not see any bear, but there sure were a lot of deer. You would think that some of these people have never seen a deer before as there was a lot of stopping and watching. As we were leaving Pigeon Forge and heading back to I-40, it was a solid three lanes of traffic barely moving all the way, coming toward Pigeon Forge from the interstate. How many cars could there be in a parking lot three lanes wide and seven miles long? No, we were not on the bike, but it sure did make me want to look forward to spring time. RandyA

I'm in Pigeon Forge for the week on vacation. This morning I saw a nice 2nd Gen trike at the hotel where I'm staying. It had Pennsylvania plates. I was wondering if it might be one of our members. Does anyone know if we have any members visiting here?

Looking for route options from Niagara Falls Canada to Pigeon Forge. The last time we toured down (for the Honda Hoot a few years back) we followed 219 (from just outside Buffalo) pretty much all the way. Round trip we are looking at about 7 days (to bad the Gap is outa commission, got my fingers crossed it will be clear by the second week in June..I hope). We are more interested in the sight seeing/twisty kinda routes than burning up the interstates(we tend to save that for the trip home). Any suggestions would be most welcome.

We are sitting in Pigeon Forge, TN with a bike short on rear brake pads. Is there anyone around this area that knows where we can find a set? Thanks, John

Just thought I'd take a minute and check in - spending the week in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (sure hope I spelled that right - I don't spell too good). Had a misserable ride up from Dallas last weekend - came up through Memphis and Nashville. I thought we'd just catch the southern edge of the storms and be in and out of rain, but it was totally socked in, cold and rainy the whole way. The good news is that the weather has been glorious here since Monday, and we are getting good riding in the Smokies. Probably leave Saturday morning and take the southern route back, going through Birmingham and taking I20 all the way into DFW. Hope all is well with everyone - Ride Safe, Goose
