I would like for those of you who use the chat rooms to give me an evaluation of the two solutions that I have installed at this time. The old one is pretty slick and has some nice features but doesn't work from all devices. The new one isn't as slick but seems to work just as well and is easier to get into and out of I think. It will be your call. If you choose the new one called "Shoutbox" at the top of the page then I will update it to the pro version. That won't make it any slicker looking but will add a few features such as allowing you to detach and run it in a separate window, turn the notification sounds on or off, things like that. Like I said, it is your call. From a money stand point, it's not a big deal. I would have to pay for the pro version of the new one but I also pay a yearly hosting fee separately for the old one so for the short term at least, it's pretty much a wash. So lets hear it. What do you want? The other option is that I could keep both but not upgrade the new one to the pro version. Just leave it as it is. I really don't think that we need two chat rooms though.

SO what would you pay for a new venture with FI, ABS, Aluminum frame, Full fairing, bags trunk, radio, intercom, bluetooth, etc. This assumes most peoples desire for the Venture to remain a full on luxo tourer similar to HD, WING and BWW. While you can choose more than one option, try and keep your selections consistent. For instance if you are not going to buy till your current bike dies or you are waiting to buy used, don't select what you pay for a new one, since technically you wouldn't buy a new one. If you are providing info in a post like I would pay the samee as brand X model, provide what that bike costs so we don't all have to guess and look it up. Thanks RSTDdog

LOVING IT!!!! I told our sales manager that I'm ALMOST ashamed to take a check for what I do... Notice I said almost...I mean lets face it, to get paid to talk to people about ATV's, utility vehicles, Sea-Doo's, motorcycles & BS with the customers is a great way to make a living, oh the pay so far has been WAY over expectations. Oh the best part is helping ppl get the best deal & seeing the smiles on their face. Meeting ppl and just talking about riding has been awesome.... I hope it doesn't sound like bragging, it's just that I LOVE my job!!!

Bike related of course My first would have to be my bike. Second my $12 + bucks Which will be due again pretty soon. Third would have to be my Carbon One lift adapter. Great product Larry and a great investment that will more than pay for itself in savings by allowing me to do more of my own work.

After redoing my 83, I decided to go back to the stock pipes instead of putting the Road King mufflers back on, so if anyone would like a set of RK pipes for their bike, they are theirs for the taking, just pay shipping I will even include the HD chrome clamps. I didnt pay for the pipes or the clamps, so I will pass them on for the cost of shipping. I will post some pics later this afternoon after I get off of work. They have not been drilled out they are still the way they came from the factory.

The Tax System Explained in Beer April 2, 2012 Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this… The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing The fifth would pay $1 The sixth would pay $3 The seventh would pay $7 The eighth would pay $12 The ninth would pay $18 The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59 So, that’s what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve ball. “Since you are all such good customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20″. Drinks for the ten men would now cost just $80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men ? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share? They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by a higher percentage the poorer he was, to follow the principle of the tax system they had been using, and he proceeded to work out the amounts he suggested that each should now pay. And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% saving). The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% saving). The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% saving). The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% saving). The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% saving). The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% saving). Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But, once outside the bar, the men began to compare their savings. “I only got a dollar out of the $20 saving,” declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,”but he got $10!” “Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved a dollar too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more benefit than me!” “That’s true!” shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get $10 back, when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!” “Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison, “we didn’t get anything at all. This new tax system exploits the poor!” The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks so the nine sat down and had their beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill! And that, boys and girls, journalists and government ministers, is how our tax system works. The people who already pay the highest taxes will naturally get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas, where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier. David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D. – Professor of Economics.

So after being tipped off by DarkLeftArm about a 1st Gen carcass in a motorcycle junkyard behind a local shop, I finally stopped in to see what was there. There were actually 2, but one is very gone. The other is stripped, but has some good parts left. The shop seems very reasonable on selling parts off of them. It seems to be a MK1, 83 to 85 vintage. The guy at the shop said he would look for paperwork to confirm actual year. I’m thinking of seeing what I could buy the one carcass for and then strip it down. Wish it was a MK2. Here are some pictures. If anybody needs anything off of these, let me know. Thinking maybe the hitch sale would pay for the carcass and then i could 'Pay Forward the other parts and stuff.

I threw an add out ther offering my 1st Gen for sale. $3000.00 I get an email from some guy who wants more pic's and says he had his ourn private shipper who will pick the bike up and and look after the TOD. Then I get a couple of text messages from hime 646-481-5977 looking for more details and offering more money that I am aasking. (first red flag) Tried calling him but it was just a messaging forward thing. Then he issisted on paying with pay pal and provides a link to pay pal. He also provides a phone number for his private shipper. I check the phone number for the shipper and it is a cell # out of southrn Alberta, but all I get is an answering machine ( flag 2) I do a reverse number look up on the buyer and get nothing but his area code is in New York (flag 3) Few emails later he is still insisting on pay pal and I should use the link he provided. Told him I didn't trust the pay pal thing because there were pit falls. Still he insistes on using it (Flag 3) Did some more checking through some work contatacts. Long story short this guy in my mind has a link running parralel to a legitamate pay pal site. When you go to his link you are giving him your banking or credit card info. Before your know it he has cleaned you out or maxed your card. Last email to his was either Western Union or his private shipper could have cash in hand when he showed up to ge the bike. Haven't heard from him since. Looks like this guy is trying to scam bike sales. It is to easy to just click the link he provided and he has you as soon as you put in your info. Lets be care ful guys if it looks to good to be true is usually is

I hired a friend to do some dry wall for me this winter in his spare time. He is a rascal and will only give me his hours and not his hourly rate. He is an engineer who normally does large project management of hospitals colleges etc. but is between jobs right now. Its a little bit like hiring a doctor to give first aid. I'd like to pay him a fair amount but not engineer rates. What would a fair amount per hour be in a small town in Midwest Iowa? Tim Lantz

Web Bike Worlds article on customer satisfaction for helmets seems to show 'you get what you pay for'. Having owned HJC, Nolan, Fulmer and Scorpion, I guess I fall into that category. The scorpion is by far the best I have worn. What do you think? The report is linked on the right side or click here.

We hired a Contractor to replace a Roof and siding due to Hail Damage. They did a wonderful job on the roofing but the truck that delivered the roofing left large ruts in our lot. When I mentioned this to our contractor he says that his guys are denying doing it. And that he has no idea how it happened. Of course I took pics and sent them to him stating that they are not allowed on my property again until this is fixed and if it is not fixed by Feb 1st, I am severing my contract with him. I will pay him only the remainder of what is owed for the roofing, minus what I have to pay to have the damage repaired. CAN I sever the contract for this?
