One Sunday, in counting the money in the weekly offering, the pastor of a small church found a pink envelope containing $1,000. It happened again the next week! The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw an elderly woman put the distinctive pink envelope on the plate. This went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her. "Ma'am, I couldn't help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the collection plate," he stated. Why, yes," she replied, "every week my son sends me money, and I give some of it to the church." The pastor replied, "That's wonderful. But $1,000 is a lot; are you sure you can afford this? How much does he send you?" The elderly woman answered, "$10,000 a week." The pastor was amazed. "Your son is very successful; what does he do for a living? "He is a veterinarian," she answered. "That's an honorable profession, but I had no idea they made that much money," the pastor said.. "Where does he practice?" The woman answered proudly, "In Nevada ... He has two cat houses, one in Las Vegas and one in Reno"

The Reverend Boudreaux was the part-time pastor of the local Cajun Baptist Church and Pastor Thibodaux was the minister of the Covenant Church across the road. They were both standing by the road, pounding a sign into the ground, that read: 'Da End is Near Turn Yo Sef 'Roun Now Afore It Be Too Late!' As a car sped past them, the driver leaned out his window and yelled, 'You religious nuts!' From around the curve they heard screeching tires, and a big splash... The Reverend Boudreaux turns to Pastor Thibodaux and asks, 'Do ya tink maybe 'da sign should jussay...'Bridge Out?'

I have one of these Kodak Video cameras and it does an awesome job for the money. I videoed a friend preaching so he could send it to a church that was considering calling him as a pastor and the video and sound were very good. It is 49 bucks today only. You will want to invest in a SD carrd for more video time. This works well!!!

I started something a couple of years ago that's kind of fun. I schedule a couple of "Ride With The Pastor" rides during riding season. We normally pick a destination and spend a Sunday afternoon riding. It connects me with people who have cycles in our church and helps me to get to know them better. Actually, I get to meet some husbands who may not attend church with their wives! Yesterday was our first ride. We left Newton and took a south then east route to avoid heavier traffic. Rode to the Amanas. One the way back we took a scenic route up to Tama where we ate at a great Mexican place. We did ride right past the Casino since the pastor was on the ride!! We left the church at 2 pm and got back to Newton at 8 pm. When we got back people were asking when our next ride was schedule. One of our young teenagers rode his 250 Suzuki as he a permit and kept right up with us. It was just a great day and fantastic time. If your pastor has a cycle you might mention this to him!!

Went to a lunch meeting with a pastor friend. When I pulled into the parking lot at the taco shop, there was a RSMV sitting there - mirror image of mine. The pastor stepped out of the restaurant with a huge smile on his face. The bike was his! He traded his 800 Suzuki on a 2003 RSMV with only 12,000 miles. About a month ago, I invited his wife to try out the pillion on my Venture - now look what happened! Guess the fun is infectious. I told him about this great site and figure he will join pretty quickly. Reckon you guys can stand another Baptist preacher? Lynn
