I still cannot believe what Sleeperhawk, Jacque and Riderduke did for my birthday! To have pulled off a surprise birthday party for me that now I know has been in the works for several months, is so incredible. I have never had a birthday party, much less a surprise one and this birthday has been the bestest ever!:cool10: I thank all of you for this wonderful surprise. I also know that several of you were planning on coming but couldn't make it. It would have been great to see you, but I know you were there in spirit. The surprises started early on Friday. My friends at work "birthday'd" my office. I came home after work and George had a birthday cake with candles waiting for me. We went out to eat at El Chico's. At 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Sleeperhawk woke me up and said to come out to the living room. that he had a surprise for me. Jacque, Brock, Jimmy and Ben were standing there! I wasn't sure I was seeing or dreaming! They had been at work all day and drove all night from Huntsville! I was on cloud nine. (And now I know that several of you traveled so far on Friday and Saturday to be there!) Saturday around noon, Jacque said she was going to find a nice restaurant to take me out for lunch, so she and Jimmy took off. George, Ben, Brock and I were visiting and then we took off. I was told we were going to Hueller's German Black Forrest Restaurant. I had not heard of it but it sounded good. We walked in, and there were our VR family, my family and some of George's co-workers! I was absolutely speechless!!! and with happiness to see everyone! I will never ever forget the time and love that went into making this birthday happen for me, in planning and coming to the party. Soo, Carl did it again, surprising wife Marca with a party! He didn't get the 60 volunteers he hoped for but came close. We sure had a great time and it was fantastic to see friends again. Besides Marcarl, there was Wizard765, Relic, Brad T and NaughT, The Count, XJ1100 who I didn't get a chance to say hi to, Chubby Checker, Moe, Yoopie, Gail minus the tall and bald one (HalRSV99), Gary N., and Midicat, of course all with spouses except Gail, but she brought her mother in law. There were a few others as well, and I'm probably forgetting a member or 2 so my appologies. Anyway, per Carl's request, here's some of the pictures. Oh, was I gone?? Why, yes I was! Monday afternoon we had some really wild weather here in Western New York. We had 2 tornadoes touch down, heavy rain, and thunder and lightening. At around 6 PM our cable went out. No TV, no phone, and worst of all no internet!!! I was having withdrawal symptoms!! The fun part was getting the address for Marcarl's surprise birthday party for Marca. No internet meant I couldn't get the address, and no phone! Oh, wait, I own a cell phone!! Now where are the numbers to call Canada??? We made it to the party right on time thanks to Carl having his cell on. I will post on that later. Got home and found we finally had cable back!!!!!

A lady is throwing a party for her granddaughter, and had gone all out..... a caterer, band, and a hired clown. Just before the party started, two bums showed up looking for a handout. Feeling sorry for the bums, the woman told them that she would give them a meal if they will help chop some wood for her out back. Gratefully, they headed to the rear of the house. The guests arrived, and all was going well with the children having a wonderful time. But the clown hadn't shown up. After a half and hour, the clown finally called to report that he was stuck in traffic, and would probably not make the party at all. The woman was very disappointed and unsuccessfully tried to entertain the children herself. She happened to look out the window and saw one of the bums doing cartwheels across the lawn. She watched in awe as he swung from tree branches, did mid-air flips, and leaped high in the air. She spoke to the other bum and said, "What your friend is doing is absolutely marvelous. I have never seen such a thing. Do you think your friend would consider repeating this performance for the children at the party? I would pay him $50!" The other bum says, "Well, I dunno. Let me ask him. "Hey Willie! For $50, would you chop off another toe?"

As some of you know, I bought a new HD Road Glide in feb. Its ship date from the factory is April 29th. I have checked in on it a few times. Today I get a call from the dealer telling me to come get it. Boy was that a surprise, I just talked to the parts guy yesterday about an add on that I wanted. He didnt say that my bike was there. I suppose he thought I already knew it. So hopefully on saturday I can make the trip to get it. Party sunny with low 50's for temps and north winds at 10 to 15 sounds ok to me. Hopefully I can get things all lined up to get it then. Next week is more rain, like today and tomorrow. So I guess I should get a little more aggressive on getting rid of my Tour Deluxe. Maybe deep down I still kinda like the thing......

Just today I have activated my 9Th. yes thats right #9 as of today; I had the first droid when they came out. had problems till they replaced it 4 times. they then upgraded me to the droid 2 for free. nice of them I know. and today they just gave me my 5 th. Droid 2 had everything from dropped calls, screen with white band wouldn't go away, cant answer till calling party hangs up then you have to look and see who called then call them back, speakers quit working, screen goes black and locks up, phone gets quieter as you talk till you cant hear your party talk, weekly calls to phone co. to try to fix problems. most having a temp fix of pull the battery and then put it back and restart. several fixes of wipe it out and reboot to factory settings. in most cases this was another temp fix if at all; but one they seem to like doing in store today at the store there were three other people there with droids all with similar complaints anyways was wondering if anyone else has had this much trouble with there phones ..... OK I feel better now.

Just wondering how you were doing; what week did you head out to make it to MD. was just wondering if you are bringing the Harley if you left in time to keep putting all the parts back on: you know a day of riding and then two days to get it running again. also knowing HD riders only ride from Bar to Bar or Party store to party store and have to take a break so people can see them standing out side by there bikes. WOW! its going to take you longer than i first thought to get there; i best get out the calculator and refigure it for ya:think: see ya there Dray:smile5:

Just noticed that you live in Opelousas! The hubby and I have been to LA 2 times, and both were to your town!!! Our partner company owns Evangeline Downs and they brought us down there to show us the property. Both times were in July and it was so hot and humid, I about died! One of the guys that led us around on a tour had a crawfish boil party at his house. I had never eaten it before, but I was brave enough to eat the head off! Anyway, it was about 95 degrees that day with about 120% humidity.....he had the COLDEST beer I have ever drank in my life! It was a great party and a memory I will always treasure! Just thought it was funny when I saw you lived there and that's the only town I've ever been in down there, except for spending a few days in New Orleans.

Well, I was making the left turn around the Capitol in Raleigh, NC at todays Tea Party event and had to stop just into the turn because of a hole in the pavement. My buddy hit the right rear saddle bag and boy did it bust into peices. I have a 2004 Venture, pearl white..........does anyone have or know of a right rear saddle bag they want to get rid of?

Yes my spooky friends. There will be a dress up or down Halloween costume party in our VR Chat room Friday night. We had this guy that worked with us that was just crazy, he'd go out and drink and just do crazy stuff. Almost every weekend he would come in on Monday with another crazy story. He actually was at a party once and driving his truck and sitting in the window and trying to steer while another friend operated the gas, he actually ran him self over. He fell out of the truck and it went over him. He was pretty boogered up for awhile but eventually was right back at the parties and doing similer stuff. This spring he got himself an old harley, I dont know what it was even tho he came to work a week ago and I talked to him about bikes and work for a half hour or so. I worried about him having a bike but said he was drinking less and knew they were dangerous. I got a call tonight from a mutual friend that told me he was at a party last night and died on his way home. He leaves behind a young wife and 2 small children, So sad and so hard to get these young people to understand how short life is and how fast we can make a mistake and end it.

We partied with a pig big time. The guest of honor was a 140lb pig that was cooked to perfection by Gary's son Chris. About 25-30 people showed up? I'm not sure of the exact count yet. We ate pig, drank beer, ate pig, told stories, ate chili, rode the roads, ate Eagle Eye's famous baked beans, and ate more pig. A huge thanks goes out to our breakfast sponsors. We had pancakes, sausages, hash browns, scrambled eggs, and eggs cooked to order. The head breakfast Chef was Black Owl and he was assisted by me. Being able to offer free breakfast on site was a huge bonus for everyone.
