We are in the process of rebuilding our VR Assistance List. If you can and are willing to offer assistance to a member who is riding through your area, please edit your profile to include that information. Simply click on "Settings" at the upper right of the page and then scroll down to "Edit Profile". Near the bottom you will find a place to select "yes or no" in regards to offering local assistance and then a place to select services that you may be able to offer. Cowpuc just mentioned in another thread another, and maybe easier, way to get to it. Click "forum actions" in the small menu at the top. Select edit profile. Scroll down and you'll see where to select your information.

I think I remember there is a way to set the default options that appear checked below a PM message. There are a couple of options I normally un-check but sometimes forget to do which is kind of annoying.

looking to buy a ventrac 4200 diesel. slope mower .... will give $800 better than wholesale and accept as is... getting tired of the STEALERS..... Did ya know........... they take all the options off of your trade-in mowers and resell at 75% of the origional cost???????????????? WTF! So....... do yourself a big favor and take the options off, and sell on ebay. was looking at one and the dealer let it slip that he took the dualies off and it was ging to cost me an additional $2500. I'll never buy anything off of that a$$&()*)!

Some of you know that the reason I haven't been on the site is that we haven't had internet at the new house. I ended up getting an AT&T Hotspot wifi transmitter that uses cell towers and 4G to get hooked up. It works but I'm not crazy about having to spend $60+ a month for internet. I have this thing for 30 days to try it, and if I want I can return it and get out of the contract (which I wont go into that rant) I need other options from y'all, I wont waste my money on Huges Net and besides what we have right now, that is the only other option. I'm too far from a distribution center to be able to get DSL, and dialup will just irritate me and I have enough irritants in my life right now. I am open for any ideas or suggestions you have

I need to replace my engine guards and saddlebag guards. I can't find the right part numbers. All I can find is beat-up take-offs. I'd prefer to not replace crash-damaged parts with scraped up guards. What other options do I have? Baron Customs? Someone triked a bike and has new saddlebag guards? Ideas? Dave

My '83 Royale has the typical rusted-out tip on the left muffler. I read some of the previous postings concerning Jardine and Mac mufflers. If they aren't being made anymore (as was indicated in one post), are there other options? Thanks

I would like to get a tank bag for my RSTD. Does any one have any experience with the Yamaha tank bag part#STR-4WM64-21-00. I don't need a big one, just a place to put a camera and some cash for easy access. The local stealer has a pretty nice Joe Rocket tank bag that is small and can be placed to not interfere with the gas cap etc. http://www.joerocket.com/catalog/index.cfm/251/381/Luggage/Manta_Tank_Bag My needs would be satisfied with a windshield bag, but because of the '57 chevy speedo, there are not a lot of options in that route. Not really looking for a tank bib either.

I have decided on a third wheel and have always liked the idea of a sidecar. Who still use one and what options for manufacturers do I have. I already have looked at Hannigan and Texas Sidecar. I am confused with Motorvations options list but will contact them soon.

So My problem was noticed last winter. The bike would take forever to warm up which made my short ride to work unpleasant. I just read an article on shadow wherethe same problem existed. Long warm ups. Choking when goosingthe throttle and poor off idle preformance. Before getting into changing jets the article spoke of raising the idle needles by adding shims. Also turning the pilots out 1/2 to a full turn to enrichen idle. I dont mind trying out a few options but I was hoping someone had info tested and tried options so I didnt have to be the test dummy. The bike has khrome werks turn out exhaust which is louder but the carbs jets seem to be sock from previous owner. I get slight popping on decel and power is great. Only idle preformance is bugging me.

Found HWH leaking in the garage this morning. Its the original from the house and 7 years old. Single element 40 gallon electric. Supplies sufficient hot water for our needs (2 adults only) Any options that would provide any real savings in electricity, or just go out and buy the same type?? Thanks

.. of this .... http://spokane.craigslist.org/mcy/2477091080.html A 2007 Lees-ure Lite Excel tent trailer manufactured in Osoyoos, BC. http://www.leesurelite.com/tenttrailers.asp This unit includes the following options ... 5 ft Awning (c/w poles, pegs, ropes) 5 ft Add-a-room 7 ft Screened awning (c/w poles, pegs, ropes) Foam mattress with removable cover Storage pod Rain tarp Wide tire upgrade Aluminum storage container Swivel coupler New cost of this unit is just under $7,400. We found a few others but not all had the options that this one does and most were higher priced. Thanks so much to 67mini67 for his original post of this unit and for going and checking it out for us. We expect to pick it up on our return trip from Cody. Consideration was given to getting it en-route to Cody and using it while there but we had no way to haul our other necessary camping gear down to Spokane. This unit will be used occasionally over the next 3 years but is primarilly for our extended tour when we retire.

I am not one to really ask for much for myself, but it has come time that I will require some higher support. I was was doing stupid things thinking I was 20 again about a month ago. Anyway, I took a bad fall, and dislocated my shoulder. That was an easy fix, no major issues there, but I also dislocated my collar bone from the breast plate. That is the hard part. It does not want to heal, and the pain is making me a little more crazy than normal as it is constant. I have an appointment with specialist next week to go over what ever options there may be. I hate to ask for myself, but I believe if you could please send a few prayers my way, this will help me to heal and hopefully keep me off of the operating table..... Thank you, Rob

Hey...I'd like to hardwire an XM radio to my new-to-me RSV. (I already have an XM subscription for a factory-installed satellite radio in my car, so I'd be adding a unit to the sub). I also want to hardwire a Garmin GPS. By the way, splicing/slicing into any wiring scares the bejeebies outa me, but that is a whole 'nother issue and probably unavoidable if I don't want it to look like crap. I do want to be able to listen to the GPS/XMs over the headsets and through the speakers. Anywho, setting aside my current (lack of) disposible income, I personally can't see paying a huge premium for an integrated GPS/XM unit at this time, especially since the Sirius/XM company itself doesn't know what it's doing to integrate the companies, birds and radio subscriptions. Sooooo, I think I ought get a cheapie XM radio off ebay or something. Which brings me to one of my many questions.... What sort of XM radio do folks recommend? Looking around the board, the Roady seems pretty popular, but that was some time ago - maybe there's a better option now. Also, what's the difference between the Roady2 and the RoadyXT? Are there differences in reception, durability, ease of use, sound quality (the DAC), mounting options... As far as mounting options go, I sort of like the looks of the mounting brackets that go on the brake and clutch reservoirs (one for XM the other for the GPS?). Do they work okay on the sloping bars of RSVs? For anyone whose tried those, any comments/advice? Other mounting suggestions? In the future I probably will be upgrading both the GPS and the satellite radio, maybe even to an integrated unit depending on prices, etc. So, between the mounting and wiring options, I'd probably want something that, if not completely reversable, won't completely screw anything up later and is universal enough to be used with other units later. In doing that, are there any pitfalls that I should avoid? Sorry if I ask a lot of a questions. But like I said, electrical stuff (and wasting cash) scare the $%^& outa me. Thanks!

So i tried looking around and didn't come up with much, what options are out there for exhaust? I would prefer slipons but would not be opposed to modifying the stock exhaust if there are not better options. I just want to get some sound out of it, not too much but that v4 should sound great with the right set of pipes!!!

Saturday we removed the tank badge from Roxie, my '06 RTSD. I like how sleek it made her look. Someone said she looks like a panther. Mysterious, menacing, and sexy, that's her. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/4302465766_151b3e912f.jpg The most glaring thing to change now is the hinges. I know I can buy OEM chrome inserts, but I have restrained myself from adding flashy stuff. She is a midnight bike, and IMO is meant to be dark and threatening. Chrome there would be out of character. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/4304221436_505d4eecf9.jpg What are some options for replacing the hinge inserts with gloss black. Or better, like the original but saying Roxie instead of Tour Deluxe? Ideas? Dave

Many of you have already seen these "cheap $$ " options for protecting your bike cover from being torn by the antennas when they are folded in the "down" position. I thought I would re-post these options for the newer members who have not seen them before.

This time i'm getting a 1300 hundred because i would like more options and better transmission. I'm loving the new-to-me RSV, but I'm having an issue with storage for my sunglasses, garage door opener ect. I've considered taking the cassette out and turning that space in a storage compartment, but I would also like a set of Ponch's gauges. What are my other options?

Alright folks, I have a question for you. I don't understand what the big deal is with Yamaha offering us MORE options for fulfilling our audio desires. So many of you pee and moan about the bike being so 'behind the times' because it has a cassette deck. I do realize that some also indicate they are 'behind the times' due to lack of fuel injection and gauges - but I'd like to focus on the cassette deck for now since so many get fired up over it (I'd like to understand). The way I see it, is Yamaha is giving us MORE options. They give us the AM/FM radio, a cassette deck, an optional CD CHANGER (standard on 09 and up), integrated into the audio system as well as an Aux plug for whatever audio we want to plug into. So, if you don't like the cassette deck, keep the little door closed and don't use it, or pull it out and put something else in like a storage compartment or gauges. Why all of the complaining? I just don't get it. Just like the little, almost useless, DC connector under the seat that many of us snip off and put something else useful on there. Just because I choose NOT to use it, doesn't mean I'm going to B and Moan to Yamaha because they put it there. I really don't understand all the hub-ub about the cassette deck, maybe someone can enlighten me. By the way, I happen to use mine. I have a handful of cassettes that I recorded some music on for when I don't feel like hooking up my MP3 player - or when I don't want to deal with batteries going dead or whatever. My cassette deck never skips.
