I would like to inquire of those who have removed the front lower fairing leg on what they feel was the benefit and or what they regret or miss? I would also like to ask if anyone has blocked the front fairings air vent and again what they regret or miss? The purpose of these question is that I am still building my 85 project and am considering using the air intakes for the lower legs to mount a set of auxillary running lights in. In this forums opinion the pros and cons? I ask as I want to see if anyone else will come up with something I have not thought of or overlooked. I am considering installing a set of lamp in the least obtrusive location. Thanks in advance to all who reply and share their thoughts and opinions.

Thinking about getting started in reloading, and like a lot of things I thought I'd throw it out here for opinions. I guess I've been told enough to stay away from Lee - which was disappointing because of the pricing! I have a friend recommending a Dillon Square Deal? Any opinions there? Other suggestions? or things to look for? Thanks as always

Are there any members here that own a spyder? Tina and I are thinking of getting one and were wondering what peoples opinions were. So far the reviews are all pretty positive. We are heading to Pioneer Motorsports tomorrow to test drive one since they have been so good to us Ventureriders. Any opinions will be appreciated Thanks Mike and T

Robin and I are seriously thinking about retiring in the south and are looking into 55 plus manufactured home communities. We have found a bunch in FLA. But very little to no info in any other states. We are looking in NC, SC, GA, and FL. Does anyone here live in, or know of such communities. Looking for any and all info and opinions.

These guys would like to become sponsors of VentureRider.org You folks have no idea how many sponsors I turn down here. I have to be sold on the company and/or product before I will consider it because I want to only recommend great products and companies and I don't want to clutter this site with banners. I try to limit the number of banners to only a few at the upper right of our site and keep that number down so that each sponsors banners comes up often. That being said, what are your opinions on this windshield? http://www.baggershield.com/

Looking for opinions (yeah I know that's dangerous here) on the Bakup riders backrest. If you have one, how do you like it ?

1st; I did do some searches before posting: Bought a 2008 Venture with 9k miles last week. It's still freezing here so I haven't even ridden it yet but I am already scoping out the farkles .... 1. Looking for a recommendation on a tank bag. I usually have gloves, an SLR camera, eyeglass case, and a bunch of little items. 2. what options for a tach. I know I don't really need one but every road bike I've ever owned had one so I feel naked without it. 3. saddlebag liners available? 4. local dealer says dunlop elite III's for rubber. I know there is a million opinions on what the are the BEST tires and I don't want to open that can of worms; just wondering if there is a reason against the Dunlops. had them on my Gold WIng and liked them. I am planning on buying one of the small 0-60 psi hand pumps for the suspension and flat tire inflation. thx in advance for help or suggestions.

Im considering going with a motor club, one that will also cover the bike. Right now im leaning on going with the GWRRA because their roadside assistance also covers cars as well. What im looking for is opinions from members here who use any of the different motor clubs that are out there, your experiences with them, pros and cons, etc. Im realizing that as I get older im having a much harder time doing some of the basic stuff like changing a flat tire, especially since I ant kneel anymore. So, tell me your thoughts on the clubs.....

I ran across a '98 GMC SLS 4X4 that looks interesting for $2,500. Haven't seen it yet so no details but if anyone has owned one I'd like to hear your thoughts. Supposed to be loaded and very clean. I've never owed a Jimmy but I have had mixed opinions from owners in the past. Some love.... some hate. Ya know how that goes. Mike

Your battery opinions needed
mlew posted a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I need to replace the battery in my 83 Venture . I see there are many choices for battery types, AGM, Dry cell, Lithium and traditional wet cell. I find so much information on them I can't put it all together. I really don't want another wet cell so I'm looking to go to something else. What are the advantages / disadvantages of each and what are your opinions for the best battery at the best price. I plan to keep the battery in the stock location and position. -

I know this is kind of an odd subject to be bringing up on a motorcycle forum but I've seen a few posts on the subject so I know there is some knowledge here. So, I'm asking for opinions. My co-pilot found, fell in love with and bought a Smith & Wesson P frame .38 bodyguard that she plans to carry in her purse or a fanny pack. Our other pistol is a S&W .38 with a 5 inch barrel, not all that CC able. I kinda like the P frame but I'm not sure its the one for me, the grips are kinda small and I have large hands. So I'm askin' for ideas on what else to try my hand at. I plan to carry whatever it is in my boot or inside my waistband. Oh, in case it makes a difference, I'm a lefty. I really don't want to end up in a situation where she plays the role of the cavalry. I'd never hear the end of it if she did.

Has anybody been approached by letter from GfK? Some sort of research group conducting a Motorcycle Evaluation. They say they will pay me $100.00 for my opinions IF I qualify. The interview is supposed to take 90 minutes. Interviews are being conducted 1-3rd in St. Paul /Minneapolis. They already know I have a 2006 Venture so they must be searching DMV records or Yamaha records looking for people. I was thinking of turning them on to this site and they can read all the opinions they want, after they give me the $100.00. So has anyone done this? Do they give you the money at the time of the interview or is the check in the mail? LOL Was it a waste of time? Was it at least interesting? Let’s have your comments! Bubber

I was wondering if anyone here has one of these trailers. I really like what I see of them and am considering one. A fellow on the STowners site has one and his review was very positive. I am looking for more opinions if possible. Here is the link to their site if anyone is interested. http://www.armoricdesign.com/fr/index.html

I'm going to add a trunk rack to my '07 but I have a couple of questions. I know I'll get opinions across the board but that's ok. Those that have had both, would you recommend the factory Star rack or one from a GL1500 GoldWing? I see that ChromeWorld and Drag Specialties (same part I believe) have a GL1500 rack for about 1/2 the price of the factory rack... Is the quality any good or will I be POed about rust later on? Or any other issue? Any advice or opinions will be helpful. I'd rather get the right one the first time. Thanks!

I know this isn't bike related but you're a large family to throw the question out to. My wife and I are looking at a top of the line Whirlpool Duet front load washer/dryer set. The price is right. I've looked at online review sites and see a mixed bag of opinions. I see the same from other manufacturers reviews. So, I'm looking for input from real people with first hand knowledge. I can get the top of the line set for about $1300 which is about $800 less than Lowes price. Should I look elsewhere? Does Whirlpool make a decent set? Thanks, Dennis
