Well it is official that I will be in Fort Worth TX from March 18 to 20. Airline tickets are bought and room is booked. I was volunteered/railroaded into helping a group of "kids" at Marquette University with their engineering competition. The task is to design a radio control aircraft to carry as much weight as possible within the design limitations. The rules do allow them to bring in an experienced pilot to fly the aircraft for safety reasons. That would be where I come in. I guess they do not want barly flyable 50lb aircraft wandering around out of control. This sounds like fun. I just do not know if I can keep up with these college seniors all night after the official stuff is over..... I think this could be fun.

Our 5th annual wine party is this coming Saturday, Feb.19th....wine of choice this year is Shiraz...or Syrah, depending on what part of the world it's from. Warm ups start at 7:00, and the "official" tasting begins at 8:00 sharp. Keep the cost of your bottle under $30, keeping in mind that last years winner was $4.95 U.S.(Barefoot Merlot) Here's how it works....I take your bottle of wine, wrap it in a paper bag, # it.....and when the tasting time arrives, they are all set out, and the score sheets are given to those that want to rate the wines, according to their tastes. The score sheets are added up at the end of the wine tasting, and a "winer" is declared, along with the next 4 top rated so that you can rate your tasting against the "official results". Last year we sampled 19 different bottles, and had 60 winos attend.....it is a lot of fun. So, if you plan to attend, let me know, I'll get you our address and telephone #. There's a spare bed and 2 spare couches...and lots of floor space to share with the dog and cat Speaking from past experience, the food available is awesome, the mix of people is very entertaining, and it is a GREAT way to break up a long, bleak, cold, dreary, snowy, did I mention COLD winter? gunk:shock3:

OK, this is pretty much a no-brainer. Since Dairy Queen seems to be the "Official Pitstop" for just about everyone on this Forum, I hereby suggest that we proclaim next Thursday, August 5th, 2010, as the "1st-Ever Official DQ Day for VR.org". Now, why would I suggest such a thing? It's simple, really. DQ is donating at least one dollar for every Blizzard purchased on August 5th to the Children's Miracle Network. on Tuesday Oct 12 , my mom had a severe stroke.she is now in a therapy/rehab facility, ,that is almost as good as a 5 star hotel! the "it's official", part is that i RETIRED so that i could be here at my sister,s home to help out with all that is going on. i can't say i don't miss going to work, but i do miss the "visiting with the guys " part. coming to ya live from Danbury Texas. just jt

I noticed a new smilie of a pick-up truck towing a Venture on a trailer. I think it would be cool to have a smilie of the blue smilie riding Venture pulling a trailer. That could be the official smilie of the motorcycle trailer pulling campers. Or, How about this .............. The Blue Venture pulling the Trailer with the Venture that is behind the pick-up truck. That could be the official smilie of the very optimistic Venture addict going to an event by themselves.

It is official. My ride last year from Fond du Lac, WI to Charleston, SC - 1000+ miles in 24 hours for the SaddleSore1000 and the additional 500 miles the next day to complete 1500+ miles in 36 hours for the BunBurner1500 - has been accepted by the Iron Butt Association as valid. I can now claim to have buns of steel - no matter how they look in Spandex. WooHoo!!! RedRider

Because on unannounced blinding photos I have posted in the past , I hereby issue an "Official Warning" to prepare youself on what is about to transpire within the next few days . Therefore proper eyewear can or shall I say must be obtain in sufficeint amount of time to save your eye-sight .
