After 21K miles on it, I needed a new front tire, and quickly, as we are leaving tomorrow for Savannah. I squeezed every millimeter of tread out of it, and it was time. My usual tire guy is closed on Mondays, so I called Mountain Powersports and they had the tire in stock (ME880), and had me come in first thing this morning to get it done. $146 for the tire and $60 for labor, with no add-on fees. They were professional, on time, offered me coffee and a computer in their awesome lounge to get some work done while I waited, and had the job done in 40 minutes, including a nice wipe down of the bike. No hard sell on anything else like brake pads or air filters, and a coupon for a free oil filter with any parts or accessories purchase over $30. Really a pleasant experience all the way around.

I read a past thread regarding the Rally in Nelson BC but the search found nothing. I wanted to know which hotels offered us a discount and the proximity of some of the hotels. Thanks for the info.

Just posting a link for an individual who is on a wonderful mission, raising awareness about cancer, survival, and hope. If there are any members in Washington state that would like to meet up with Terry and log a few miles just let me know. I have offered him a place to stay for the night and some home cooking here on Camano Island. http://www.terrysbigadventure.com/ Thanks everyone! Larry AKA Silverdeer

Tejas Motorsports, a local Yamaha dealer, just called me and offered me $1000 for my '06 RSTD. They said they were experiencing great demand for used bikes, and wanted mine. I think what they were saying is that they were offering $1000 over the bluebook or trade-in value. I wasn't selling, so I didn't seek much clarification. When I said no thank you, I was offered a free fuel treatment on my next service. Thanks but.... The last question was whether I would be buying a new bike in the next 12 months. No. Seems pretty aggressive to cold call past customers like this. (They've mounted tires for me.) Would any of you take that offer? Dave

I have a new to me Ride, 2001 RSV. Since I have had the hip and knee replacements done I have been looking for a 2 up ride again. I found this one the other day and just could not pass it up. It even had one of my Grills on it. So far I haven't found any chrome options offered by Yamaha that is not on it. It was a one owner bike that was set up as a show bike and really looks and runs showroom new. ( no whine ) I still will have my sidecar for trips but for 1up riding the twisties is what I have been looking for.

We laid my Dad to rest yesterday. He loved the out doors; camping, motorcycling, running, walking, hunting and fishing. He held on long enough to get to know his grandson from Tennessee that he had never met. Thanks to all of you that offered up prayers, it worked. He is out of pain and in a better place. Rod

Ok all you old timers can you name this bike? It is quite possible that I was just offered one of these for $35.00 It was running when the guy bought it but there was a part missing from the carb. He doesn't have the time or inclination to mess with it. To be honest I only saw it once and I remembered what he called it so I was able to find this pic. It was funny how it came about. Let's say he collects things. Some would say he is a pack rat. He has 6 shipping containers and a 40 x 60 metal building stacked and packed with stuff he has "Collected" I commented on his collection and he said name it and I bet I have it. I said "Moped" and he said yep right there and sure enough 10 feet inside the door we were by stood a bike like this one. I was talking to him today and out of the blue he offered it to me for what he paid for it. I said how much and he said $35 bucks. Any guesses?

I ordered one last evening - it won't ship until June 8th but that's not too long to wait. I was please to see that they offered the pillow style to match the seat. The only info for mounting was that there was no cutting necessary, is it really that easy to install ?

I was talking with my boss today about ST.Jude and told him i wa tring to figure out a way to make a good impact this year since its my first year to be involved. It turns out he know's all about St. Jude he had a friend who's child spent some time there. So he offered to allow me to have some cook out's at work like 1 a month during the spring and summer months. now along with this he has also offered to donate the hamburgers and hot dogs for me to do thisalong with our big grill. I work for an intermodal facility for the railroad those of you who never heard of that it is the import and export side of the rail road so we have truck drivers in and out of the place all day and they like us have eating disorders so im thinking this is going to work pretty well. I also found out today i can get a corprate donation based on the amount of hours i put into this with a max of $400 that will buy a few teddy bears.. just thought iwould share this good news with everyone. Well, in a thread called "Putting Venture carbs on a 96RSTD" the discussion led to talk about what colors were offered for the various years of the Star. I did some searching and found out that there is a big difference between years both in how many colors and what colors were offered. So I was thinking if it would not be cool if we had pictures of every color offered for the stars in a folder on this site sorted out by manuf.year and type. So what do you guys think about this? I have already begun working on this and first of all I am gathering info on colors offered for each year. Alongside we can search for pictures and would be most fun to get them from members only - if possible. So what do you guys think? Should we give this a go? Freebird ! Can we somehow host this on the site? So if you play along and want to add some color just copy my list here below and fill in accordingly and repost. That way the list should little by little be filled in. And make comments on corrections if there are any wrong info. I am not far gone on this but I started with the 1996 to 1997 model and here is what I think was offered. Note that we are talking about the 1996 to 2001 Royal Star. Not the Venture and Royale Venture. The color info on them is listed on this site (This post was edited after Sleeperhawks post here below: 1996 model : New White / Mature Red Bluish White / Blue Metallic Yamaha Black Milky Brown / Yamaha Black Bluish White / Dark Blue Cocktail 1997 model: New White / Mature Red Elegant Brown / Black Shirobai White / Enticer Maroon Milky Brown / Urushi Black 1998 model: Cammellia Green / Ceramic White 1999 model: 2000 model: 2001 model: Black (no other color). So you guys and gals who know anything about the other models chip in and update the list. Little by little the list will grow and finally be completed. Any suggestions on doing this differently of cause welcome. So lets work together !!!!!!!!!!!

I once saw some inserts for the hinges in chrome or SS. One guy even was offering to monogram them. Now I can't find them, anyone know where they are offered? Don't have to be monogramed.

Letting off some steam here...sorry. What good is having a blue book value for trade in if a dealer won't use it? Instead they use some auction thingy. Kelly blue book rates my 07 Chevy Equinox for $16,000, I went to try to trade for a 08 Wrangler and at first they only offered 11,000. I told them no, KBB say's its worth 16 and they left for another 15 minutes. Came back and said the very most they could give me was 12,000. They showed me what they use, a sheet showing what they can buy my car at a dealer auction for. They said 11 was high and he went above his boss and offered the 12. This is total bull. I am a cash paying customer, no financing, I was there most of the day on Sat. and there from 1:30 to 4:00 today and these JERKS have the nerve to try and sell me this Jeep for sticker price and offer me below Blue book trade in value on my one year old car. Sorry for ranting but I am just soooo peeved at the situation.
