OK, here's an odd problem on my RSV. A few weeks ago, I noticed that my clock had been reset. I thought I may have pressed the buttons the wrong way when scrolling through the trip meter, so I forgot about it. Went to use it today and noticed that it showed the odometer instead of my trip meter, so I selected the trip meter and, lo and behold, both of them were at 0 KM (They were at 91 KM when I turned it off yesterday) and the clock had been reset. I didn't have the battery tender on so nothing has touched the bike. Anybody ever have this problem before? Andy

Hello Everyone: Just wondering if any other Sturgis visitors remember seeing a guy with his Dog, Cat Albino Rat combination??? He has trained a Dog to carry a Cat on its back and then trained an Albino Rat to ride on top of the Cat. Not something you see everyday. I spotted him in Bridgeport Nebraska yesterday. Spoke to him briefly. Nice, Polite guy. He was headed North with his odd looking RV. I realized it him when he let the Dog, Cat and Rat out for a brief walk. I got a picture of the RV Rig but the dog cat and rat jumped back into the shack before I could get a picture. Imagine driving this 50+ foot slow moving rig 250 miles!!!

Ok, not a huge deal but it's making me nuts. I have Logitech wireless laser mouse that has developed a twitch. It's two years old and always works fine but in the last week it started the odd behavior. I can be on any site anywhere and I'll jump screens and the cursor will suddenly start dragging and jumping in an uncontrolled act of defiance. I can kick the 'puter into standby mode and it will clear up and work ok for a while and have good control. Then again on a different site or different page it will start up again. Just won't follow my lead. Batteries have been changes several times, lens in clean, connections with USP are the same and solid. System doesn't show any odd behaviour when it happens and no excess useage. Oh yeah, sometimes when I single click on something it will lock on a start highlighing where ever the cursor ends up. Should I be looking for a system problem or just put the mouse out of it's misery and replace it? Mike

Hi Folks, I'm considering buying a trailer to pull behind my scoot. I found one that is kinda cool. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n163/coy55boy/83%20Venture%20trailer%20hitch/beertrailer.jpg But, it's got (what I consider to be) an odd sorta hitch. Does anybody know what this is called and more importantly where do I find the mating half? http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n163/coy55boy/83%20Venture%20trailer%20hitch/hitch.jpg

Hi guys.. buddy and I ran into a weird one today.. After a week of torrential downpour and heavy winds, the weather finally cleared enough to get the bikes out for a cold windy run.. we're die hard riders who refuse to put their bikes away.. When I got to my buddy's house his bike was idling very oddly...and this is where everything goes wrong to worse.. Full choke ON, bike barely idling.. but it's idling prolly sounds like 900 rpm.. if you touch the throttle, the bike dies.. If you take the choke off, the bike dies.. It needs full choke and don't play with the throttle.. VERY odd indeed.. We DID see this a few weeks ago in New Hampshire on a late season road trip.. but the bike cleared itself inside of 5 minutes and ran 100% since then.. so odd. But this time, no go.. Nothing you could do would clear what ever was causing it.. Then we noticed that the sound was getting even more odd.. Hello, what's this.. We then noticed that the front jugs were not making heat at all.. and then ONLY the rear left jug.. (I have to stop touching hot metal exhausts.. ) try as we could, the bike would not start and stay running.. Not good.. Now, the bike had been sitting in his garage for a week, semi heated, but with about a 1/4 tank of fuel in it.. shouldn't have made too huge a difference.. We added another 1/2 gallon of fuel to the tank with some SeaFoam.. ya never know.. but no change. It just wouldn't catch.. When you cranked the starter, you could hear the one jug catching but not igniting completely and the other jugs just going along for the ride, not firing.. I don't recall a lot of raw fuel smell either.. windy as it was.. Battery was on a tender all week before this.. So, we abandoned his bike for the winter.. I sadly said goodbye to my friend and hauled out of there for a quick spin before heading home and getting some fresh fuel into my gas tank for the next storage period.. And I get the phone call, the bike started and is running 100% fine.. HUH? Just like it did in New Hampshire.. We thought then that the bike, sitting outdoors in the overnight cold rain might have had some water in it.. But what the? Breaking it down to the bare minimums, we thought what about the fuel filter? I changed his filter in July, perhaps 15,000 miles ago.. Not long in TIME but perhaps due in mileage? My fuel filter had clogged so badly that it starved the engine last year.. Then what about the pump? My pump had died prematurely and in such a weird and wild manner, maybe his is doing the same thing? But while we were cranking the engine over earlier on, the pump was getting warm, indicating to me perhaps that it is work OK.. otherwise a failed pump wouldn't make any heat if it's not working? Gremlins.. what the heck.. No idea what caused this failure today, its very similar to what happened a month prior.. and now the bike works 100% no probs, lots of power and almost like it never happened.. How do you start trouble shooting such a problem? The bike is under warranty but the shops here are lacking in experience on these types of bikes, he might never see his bike back again.. Any thoughts or idea what to look for the NEXT time the bike does this again.. if ever? Thanks M8

Does that speedo look familiar? This was a Yamaha 2005 concept. I'm sure it's been posted here before but It's odd enough to bring up again.

Saw the new Voyagers at the Long Beach show this weekend.... Not what I expected at all. The bags look strangely separated from the bike when viewed from the front. No intercom or connections visible. The steering is heavier than Venture, my wife can get the Venture and virtually all other bikes off the stand but couldn't get the Voyager up..... Too many odd curves in that fairing. Also tank hardware kind of odd and chintzy. In a way it's a relief, I won't be lusting for one. Seats comfortably but a bit tight. Good looking from back.

I know you are all thinking that I am going to warn of hitting your leg on the exhaust. Although a concern and painful when done, that is not my warning here. As we all know, there are LOTS of bugs out there. There is an odd chance that one of those bugs just may be a bee. And there is an odd chance that that bee just might end up in the leg of your shorts. That makes bees angry. You don't want an angry bee in the nether regions of your short.
