Tweetie got a little more pinstripping done this week. 2nd picture is without added VMax (Special Edition) Hope this isn't a crime against VMax's !! Jaybird did the VMax addition, he did main stripping at Oberlin MD this year. The man has talent for sure !! It was suggested that I post a new thread about the Quaker Steak & Lube dinner on June 3rd, 2011. This is the evening before the "official" MD date at Freebird's home in Oberlin , Ohio. I just made reservations at The Oberlin Inn for Friday Night. I figured I would try them again. I liked the over hang for parking the bikes. The price is $89.95 for the Venturerider group. The Oberlin Inn emailed Nance56 with the following information. Due to the way that they did us last year, I am NOT endorsing them in any way but felt it only fair to at least let you all know. "The Oberlin Inn contacted me and told me that they would let us have rooms for the 89.95 same as always. I told them that we were not happy with the treatment that our members received. She said that they were aware of that, but that several stayed there last year. I will leave this to you to post it if you want. She said to just tell them you are with ventureriders and you will get that rate. We do not have any type of agreement with them. She just wanted to extend the offer. I do know that this was out of her hands and she was not happy either. When you are an employee you do not always get a say in the matter."

Scoot mostly packed....working on my first cup of coffee.....getting pup ready for the trip to the boarding kennels... gonna grab some breakfast and awaiting on Bull463....then were off to meet Rickster and Michelle on her new scoot in Ripley, NY...Taking the scenic roads to Oberlin....Its gonna be a great day....see you all there....may even have time for an stop or two !

B2MOM got her motorcycle endorsement and passed her road test today so she is ready to go. I can hear it now....ALL THE WAY TO OBERLIN...Can I drive? Can I drive? Is it time for me to drive? Pull over, I want to drive now. It's my turn to drive...can I? Can I??? It's gonna be a longgggg trip! We are meeting ScaryLarry, Wanderer and Double D in Beaver Dam, KY at 10:30 am in the morning. Ok, I put a Utopia backrest on the bike and I'm wondering where you taller riders have it adjusted. So far, I have it as far down as possible and as far back as I can get it. I'm not sure if I like the thing to be honest. Might take it off the bike before I ride to Oberlin. Maybe a long trip is just the thing I need to decide weather to keep it or not. I've never rode a bike before with a backrest and it's a bit weird to me.

ok ok i know its in oberlin Ohio. but address would be nice please. almost 500 miles from here to oberlin. i guess i could just follow all the second generations as the first ones will be all ready there. i will be in the cager.for this years event.

Has anyone received an e-mail from Rex Engle at the Oberlin Inn stating they needed to cancel reservations due to a special project, if so any ideas on where to stay?? Thanks

I hated to start another thread but certainly don't want anybody to miss this if you are still staying at the Oberlin Inn. Due to them canceling some of our rooms with no clear answer as to why, I decided to do a search to see if there were any other complaints. I was a little shocked at what I found. There are several reports on a number of travel sites about bed bug complaints. These complaints are recent, starting in the fall of 2009 and some as late as a month or two ago. I have no idea if the allegations about bed bugs are true and the Inn refutes them in a couple of reports but several people have reported the problem. You can make your own decision but felt that it needed to be noted. Like I said man rain,rain,rain I been soaked to the bone for two days and still a flood watch here till Friday morning.I just got in from 4 days in Maryland. Anyway were coming to Oberlin tomorrow via Pickup truck and Pittsburg across the turnpike.We should be at the Oberlin Inn by 4-5pm. Does the group have an dinner plans for Friday evening? When? and Where?
