A friend is looking at a NUVI gps and has been told that it wont broadcast fm to his bike fm radio. One salesguy has told him that only the weather reports will broadcast thru to his fm radio. he is looking to run some music from an sd card and get his gps voice directions through his speakers. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Or suggest a gps that will do this for him? Brian

Any one have any opinions on this Garmin 1390. I was especially interested in the blue tooth feature. Radio Shack has them for 129.99 LMT. Not sure if it is a refurbished one or not. Also anyone purchased one of these GN032 + WPCS2 Bike Mount & Case, Garmin Nuvi 1390T 1690 from ebay. It is not water proof, but was interested in its capabilities of working the touchscreen through the plastic face case?

I just got the Scala Pro and was trying to sync my Nuvi 360 to it. The Nuvi has a password key of 1234, the Scala wants 0000. Does anyone know how I can change either of these? I can get into the programing language if it is in there somewhere and someone who knew what all that stuff means:big-grin-emoticon:

Seems like I remember a while back someone posting some .GPX files. Were those map updates that would work in a Nuvi? I just bought a used Nuvi 255 off Fleabay. I'm not sure how up to date the map file is.

Alrighty everyone...been lurking for about a year in the forums...in the past week ive been all over the GPS forums but im just confusing myself more...so please help me out a little here... I am looking for a GPS for my 04 RSMV, This will be my first GPS purchase so i am relying on the experiences of everyone here. I ride a lot, 20k to 25k a year, but i mainly stay local. I am going to start my longer trips this fall though (Oklahoma is first) and need a reliable unit to guide me along the way. I mainly use my Ipod for music, so the MP3 player may be a good idea, my wife rides with me so i need one that wont effect the intercom either. Ive looked at a re-furbished Streetpilot 2730, a nuvi 7xx series, and a few zumo's (550/650). Please post yoru experiences with your GPS' models, how you mount it, how you waterproof it (bag, drybox, unit itself), how the screen looks in the sunlight, and any other info you would like to share. Also, for the "non-motorcycle" model users (Nuvi), do you think the vibration of the bike causes the problems that have been previously discussed on the forum?

The Garmin Nuvi 750 is on sale at tigerdirect.ca for 149.97 cdn i thought it looked like a good price for a GPS with all the features. Does anybody have a Garmin nüvi 765T GPS? I am thinking about getting one and would like to see an instlation photo or two and maybe some comments on how well it works.

Been looking for a GPS and found a new Zumo 450 for $250. Is that a good price or should I stick with buying a nuvi 780 like I had planned? Thanks!

I bought a new Garmin Nuvi 765T and I have discovered that I like my old Nuvi 660 MUCH better. The only thing I like about the 765 over the 660 is the bluetooth. I will keep the 765 on the bike so I'll know when I get a phone call and put the 660 in the G8.

We got a Garmin Nuvi for xmas and haven't ever used it. We are going to Banff on bike this summer and just tried to put in an address that we are staying at up there. Does this thing not have Canadian maps?

Was considering milling a waterproof gps mount for my gps. but than i would eliminate being able to use it without taking it from the case.. I found this on amazon. I have a nuvi 200w. Use it in my car all the time. and dont want to purchase a new gps just for the bike. What do you think? I have a Garmin Nuvi with the windshield mount in my truck. Has anyone ever mounted this to the windshield of the RSV. It won't hurt the shield will it?

Hey All, Has any one used the Nuvi 250 on there bike? A couple local box stores have the Nuvi 250 & 250W on sale for the same price ($179) I know it is not a waterproof GPS but figured I may use it on the Venture occasionally. My question is would the 250W be too big for the windscreen? or should I just get the regular Nuvi250? The Garmin Zumo 550 is quite a bit out of my $$ range.

I was planning to buy the Garmin Nuvi 200W GPS .. and today I Looked for a nice Handlebar Mount ... but the most mounts that I find are for the regular Nuvi 200. Does anyone knows a place who sell nice handlebar mounts for the Nuvi200W.

I an new to the GPS world. I have used a non-map handheld to mark tree stands and good fishing holes but that's about it. Recently we used a family members Garmin Nuvi on an out of town trip and it was fabulous for finding our way around and getting back again. One issue we had was that we could not specify a route. Granted, once i took a turn off course it was quick to recalculate, but the feature I want is to be able to specify which roads I take ahead of time. I could look at the map determine my route but the nuvi would not let you pick a route road by road ahead of time. I think that is important as I may not be familiar enough with the roads to know how to take alternate routes without the help of the GPS. Is this feature available on other GPS modules or did I miss something on the Nuvi. It is not covered in the details of most units. I am considering the follwoing uints after reading he posts here and doing research. Lawrence Iway 350C Magellen 2200T TomTom Rider 2 Garmin Zumo Any advice on this feature and these units would be apprecieated.
