After several hours riding, I find that my butt gets numb and tends to feel sore afterwards for a while. I modified the seat to relieve pressure on the tailbone and that worked fine but still get the "numb butt". So, I happened upon a "like new" Corbin dual touring seat for like 1/2 of the new price .... hopefully that will make a difference but if not, I figgure I could re-sell if for what I paid no problem. I have put this off for years, but it has finally caught up with me. I damaged the disk in my back, C-5 and C-6 about 25 years ago, they told me then that it would eventually make my left arm start hurting then go numb. well 2 weeks ago its happen. I was just ridding along and wham felt like an electric shock went down my arm then came the pain and I do mean pain, after about 7 days it was just numb. Anyway ended up at the neuro-surgeon in Macon ga, He is going to fuse both disc sites on the 27th. They say its a simple proceedure and I won't be out very long, about 10 to 14 days. I did go to biketoberfest though, last thru and friday. Gregg:shock3:

Ive had my 88 venture about a month now, able to fix most of the minor glitches, so yesterday took it on a patriot guard mission of 400 miles, LI to Dover Delaware and back home, escorting a fallen marine L/Corporal. The bike performed well mechanically, but comfort level wasnt what i expected, i dont like the pegs, both legs were cramping after about 5 hr, right had was numb, and dont get me started on the stock seat. the seat and the hand cramps can be addressed, but does any body know if there is a footboard/ forward control rig for these bikes, thanks for listening. Well, I rode about 120 miles yesterday. Longest trip so far on the 04. I'm wanting to make darn good and sure she don't have an issues that I need to know about. Well, I started to have troubles with my hands going numb. Starting with my little fingers and slowly spreading to the rest of my hand and fingers. I don't think it is from vibrations because I don't feel any. What you guys think? I'm worried it is the position of my hands in relation the my heart.

I am sorry if this is in the wrong place. First post. My throttle hand is turning numb after only 15-20 minutes from the vibration through the grips. Am I doing something wrong or do I need gel gloves or what? Thanks for any help.

I have a problem with my right hand, and sometimes my left, going dead after riding a while. I know...Carpol Tunnel... On the '83 I have a throttle lock that I can set in order to relax the hand and get the blood flow back into it. Some rides are worse than others, but on Saturday's VWIV ride from Ft Hunter-Ligette, 25 miles over to Hwy1 on the coast, we were in some fairly twisty road conditions, and I couldn't set the lock to relieve the numbness in my right hand. So for just about all of that portion of the ride... 1.5 hrs.. I had to twist the throttle with a numb hand. After a while it hurt like 'H'. Long story short, I think I screwed up my hand big time. It's been two weeks and the tips of the fingers on the right hands are numb 24/7 and they ain't getting any better. Went to the Doc's and she was non-comittal as to the cause. I have an appointment with... I guess.. a neurologist for tests on the 12th. I wondering if anybody else has had this happen to them, and did you finally get the feeling back?? Talk about a PITA trying to zip up the fly when I can't feel the tang!!!

Hey. I hope I'm not the only one who did this. I used the squeegee at the gas station to wash the bugs of my windshield then used the paper towels to dry the streaks. Now there a bunch of little scratchs all over it. I buffed them till my arm went numb with some stuff I got at the auto parts store that the guy behind the counter said will take them out. I learned he didn't really know what he was talking about.:buttkick:Anyway. Does anybody know a good way to get rid of them?
