No Sunday Paper: This is dedicated to all of us who are seniors, to all of you who know seniors, and to all of you who will become seniors. Where is my SUNDAY paper?!" The irate customer calling the newspaper office, loudly demanded to know where her Sunday edition was. "Madam", said the newspaper employee, "today is Saturday. The Sunday paper is not delivered until tomorrow, on SUNDAY". There was quite a long pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition as she was heard to mutter, ..."Well, $**t, that explains why no one was at church either."

Something unique recently happened to me that I thought I would share with my fellow Venture riders. On the Sunday Jan. 31, 2010 edition of The Oregonian newspaper out of Portland there is a picture of some GI's from Viet Nam in 1972. I am the soldier in the middle on the pole taking the flag down. Kinda strange that picture would appear 38 years later in a west coast newspaper and an old boy from Ky. is in it. There is a connection since the GI to my right has a brother that now works for the paper and was also in Viet Nam. But still, what are the odds??? Just wanted to share. Bill

I prefer a newspaper in hand but this is a neat web site if you like reading newspapers online. Just put your mouse on a city anywhere in the world and the newspaper headlines pop up... Double click and the page gets larger....you can read the entire paper on some if you click on the right place. You can spend hours here. http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/flash/ Also, if you look at the European papers, the far left side of Germany will pop up as The Stars & Stripes (European edition, of course). AND, this site changes every day with the publication of new editions of the paper.

I just realized that David Idle/ BigTruck here on the forum was killed in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday morning. Not sure where he was headed but a 17 year kid on his way to school pulled out in front of him at a very bad intersection. I wasn't sure it was him until this morning. I will look up the link to the newspaper report later when I get time. Please think of his family, he was only 50 years old. Here is the link: http://www.nwherald.com/articles/2007/10/04/news/local/doc4704ad6a1604c796874025.txt Jerry
