Hello fellow Venturers, I just purchased a 2018 Venture without the TC package. Has anyone successfully added the Navigation module without the "help" of a dealership? Thanks, Nick

Yesterday I installed a modification that allowed me to categorize our smilies making them easier to find and also allows you to save your 20 most used smilies in your own "My Favorites". We had something similar on the old site and several people had requested that it be brought back. Installing this modification though created a conflict with the bottom navigation bar that others had requested. This was a navigation bar at the bottom of the page that prevented you from having to scroll all the back to the top of a thread. After installing the smilies mod, I spent WAY too long trying to figure out why it wouldn't work properly before finding that the bottom navbar was causing the issue. I then spent WAY too long trying to figure out how to modify the navbar mod so that it would work with the smilie mod. I failed. They will just not co-exist together. I had to decide which was the more useful modification and decided that the smilie modification was probably most useful. I still knew though that some people find it a real bother to have scroll back to the top after reading the last post of a thread. So.....I did a simple modification that adds only buttons to get back to the top of the thread that you are reading or back to the list of threads in the forum that you are in. At the bottom of the last post in a thread is a "quick navigation" drop down menu. You will now find two buttons beside it. One says "GO" and the other says "Top". If you click on the "GO" button, it will take you back the top of the forum that you are in with a list of all the threads. If you click on the "Top" button, it will take you back to the first post in the thread that you are reading. There are other links in the drop down menu. Back to forum home, other forums, etc. but those two are just click and go so you don't have to click on and then scroll down in the drop down menu. I think that this accomplishes what you wanted with the bottom navigation bar.

Finally got a moment to install my Garmin. I placed it on the RH bar. It is integrated with the audio system through the cassette input. I gutted a cassette player and installed a switchbox. Now I flip a switch and the Garmin works with the intercom, CB, and the radio. The radio is cut off and then all the Garmin takes over. I also installed an XM receiver on the trunk. Finished the whole thing with a Buddy Rich microphone interface. Now, we have MP3 input, XM, cell phone, and navigation. I forget who sent me the cassette player, but you may claim a free switch interface conversion whenever you desire. Thanks for the extra unit. Things to do yet: 1. Line the box to eliminate rattles. 2. Solder up an audio triggered priority switch for the MP3 to Garmin. This will eliminate the manual switch and allow for navigation prompts when switched to MP3. 3. Finish the box cover. It will be a flat cover with a piano hinge. Sapper Medic has a line on refrigerator magnetic sealing material to hold down the cover. 4. Install the 12VDC socket for MP3/Cell Phone charging. It will go inside the pocket. The 2820 works great. I need to tweak the volume settings for the Bluetooth yet. It picks up my Motorola Q9c very well. It pulls in the phonebook well. My phonebook has a few hundred entries so it takes about 1 minute. The 2820 has a remote control, so Maggie can work it from the navigation platform (rear seat). It does not have a battery or an SD slot. However, it hooks via USB to the computer for using MapSource software. Volume from the system in all modes is fantastic. I like the wide screen and the buttons. JB

Here are the links to the parts catalogs used by most commercial site: 1983: http://tinyurl.com/4yt66u 1984: http://tinyurl.com/3jmmnj 1985: http://tinyurl.com/3oasrg 1986: http://tinyurl.com/4bnb6l 1987: http://tinyurl.com/4bnb6l 1988: http://tinyurl.com/4zer58 1989: http://tinyurl.com/4kefl2 1990: http://tinyurl.com/4xnecn 1991: http://tinyurl.com/4almpq 1992: http://tinyurl.com/4yn8kk 1993: http://tinyurl.com/4hd5od Diagrams are stored as .pdf's. If you don't have Adobe Reader (or another .pdf reader) installed on your computer, please download the reader from the following link: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html There are two possible ways to see the files: Left-click on the appropriate link and the diagram will show in a new browser window. You can then use the navigation pane on the left to view the appropriate diagram or just scroll down page by page. You can also right-click on the appropriate link and choose the "Save Target As..." option to store a local copy on your hard drive. Navigation of the file is identical for both procedures. On thing I noticed is that the 1989 parts diagram is mislabeled, it show the model year as XVZ12 instead of XVZ13, a minor glitch, the part numbers are correct. Also, the diagrams for 1986 and 1987 are identical. Hope this helps, Klaus
