They announced that he died this evening (Friday). After watching him on Dallas, never could watch I Dream of Jeannie again, kept waiting for him to stab someone in the back on Jeannie. But will miss him on Dallas (TNT), first season, he was his nasty old self.

has anyone tried putting other tips on the nasty boys other than the barron brand? like to try to find some a little cheaper although they have marked them down a little.i believe the diameter is 2 1/4" outside and 2.06-2.16 inner and needs at least one inch to insert inside.

Anyone have a set of these on their scoot? I'm looking at a set on Ebay, but need to know if they're 'Nasty Boy' loud. Better yet, does anyone have a link to a sound bite??

I modified my Baron's Nasty Boys today so they are not so nasty. They sound good on the jack but I haven't put the rear wheel on yet to try them on the road. I welded a heavy washer with a 5/8 hole to the inlet of the baffle to reduce the flow a little and cause a little more back pressure, seems to have worked but time will tell. I am attempting a video of them. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9ryuwQjI4I]YouTube- Picture or Video 013.avi[/ame]

What do you think? Which are the better deal? Considering changing and don't know which way to go.

I just posted a set of Barron's Nasty Boyz 4-2-4 mufflers in the classifieds if interested.... Thanks.

Everything went great & love the sound. Nice little rumble. I used Freebird's (i think) method of removing the clamp cover/shield from the stock mufflers, splitting them and riveting them back on the rk's. Worked out really well. Just wish it was'nt so nasty outside.

Well, I am making more progress on my 84 standard. I have actually repaired the left upper fairing and placed it back on the bike. Just doing this took two tubes of that really nasty smelling epoxy that melts the plastic then cures. I am not sure of the structural integrity of it, but it seems to be solid feeling. I put the dash panel on with the bucket in it, and haven't put the lid on, since it doesn't have a hinge flap anymore. I am keeping my eye on ebay for these beasts. The right upper is going to take lots more work. Probably lots of fiberglass and nasty epoxy. There is enough realestate missing from it that I may have to get creative with some bondo. Right now, I really can't afford a new(er) one, since the good ones seem to be going for approximately $200 on ebay. SO EVERYONE STOP BIDDING AGAINST ME!!! After that I think I can get the rest of the panels back on. Then its off to the paint shop. I think I will leave it to a professional with some good equipment, since it will take me 47 years to rattle can it. I did the false tank, and it turned out very nice, but all the sanding and buffing took about 20 hours. There are some small cracks in the luggage to fix, then I can paint them as well. I think I may use some of that "trunk paint" on the inside, since I have no idea what they used to look like. Right now they look like they were used to haul mud. Things left to do otherwise: Track down leak in or around the gas tank. Find a bolt to hang the right muffler back up. Looks to be a special kind of bolt with a washer made in. Get some nice comfy grips. I like the Kuryakyns i have on my XS, but you don't see them for $30 just every day. New air filter. wire in a stereo. 100 mile per hour test. 1000 miles test. I am sure there is more, but I am weary, its been a long day. One last thing. I really want to thank all who have given and sold me parts, and all those that have given good advice. Some day I hope to return the favors, or at least pay it forward.

It's finally nice enough to ride here in Indiana. I'll be meeting up with Bummer so that we can buddy up and exchange guardian bells. So......I was thinking about where I should put my bell. I've heard you should mount it low to scare away those nasty road gremlins. Care to share where you mounted your bell on your bike? Pictures are always welcome. Bob

The fires are engulfing San Diego. A lot of the freeways are closed or clogged up with traffic due to the evacuations. I am safe here in Spring Valley for the moment. If any members here need help let me know. I am not working and I can help if needed. High Santa Anna winds and 90 deg temp will make this realy nasty. Rod
