It's a commin, Nascar on Da River, labor day weekend Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon. We are about 1 hr south of Chicago very close to I57 and Rt17. This is a noisy weekend of Boat Races, bands and activities. We are on the river where a turn is , next to the start & pits. Room in the yard for campers . . . If you do come in, we are past the last Barricade, tell security you are coming to my house. . . Here is a link for the River Road side http://www.kankakeeregatta.com/

Well, Sleeperhawk totally surprised me today with my Christmas present, which I never dreamed I would get to do! He got me the Nascar Racing Experience! I will get to drive an original Nascar driven by a Nascar driver of my choice, Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon, etc. on a race track, the two closest to us being Darlington and Charlotte. Any recommendations on which track to do this? Sounds like a meet and eat time too when I schedule a date! I have several dates to pick from in 2012 so I will post when we go up there! Thank you, Sleeperhawk, for an incredible gift. I love you!!!

Just got done reading an article on a website http://www.Blackfive.com. The writer is part of an American Legion Legacy ride to Milwaukee. He has been blogging about the ride for a few days now. The part that caught my eye was this: -Some of the 'non-American bike' riders made a request to be able to start their bikes before the Harley's do. Seems they can't tell when their bikes are running after the Harley's kick in... What a hoot!! At a gas or food stop, it must be like a NASCAR race when all the Harleys are running!!

For the last four years I have belonged to a Nascar fantasy league. I do not run the league, but the person that does is a trusted friend. Entry fee is $25.00 for season. Last year we had 38 participants. First & second half payouts were $78, $49, $29, $23 & $16 Season Payout was $146, $105, $88, $70, $53, $41, $29, $23, $18, $12 Payouts will fluctuate depending on number of participants. Attached is a PDF of format & rules. Drivers are chosen based on each driver being assigned a dollar value. Each Team is allowed $10,000,000 in Drivers. Teams consist of 8 drivers. With dollar value system, you get a few good drivers, a few middle of the track drivers, and a few long shots. Drivers are chosen for the season, you don't change every week. Only time a driver can be changed is after 2 consecutive races of inactivity. Entries are due by February 12th. Contact info is in the attached PDF file. I can also assist in getting team selections and fee submitted. You get a recap sheet every week showing how everyone did. Gary

Pretty good race.... Matt Kenseth wins the Super Bowl of Nascar... Sometimes ya gotta just be in the right place at the right time.... Any Nascar fans that are riding thru Southwest Wisconsin need to check out his museum and gift shop in Cambridge,Wi...just east of Madison,Wi...Alot of cool history..... Having said all that,I'm really a bigger NHRA fan,but it's good to see a local guy done good...

BIG weekend planned. Wife has to work all weekend - and I am still missing Ohio from having all lower 48 states on my current bike. SOOO - heading out Thursday to ride through Ohio - and do Iron Butt along the way. Ending up in Martinsville, VA and have tickets for the Sunday NASCAR race there. Ohio, Iron Butt, NASCAR - all in same trip. Big Weekend. Maybe I will see some of you along the road.
