Big Bob and I went out this evening to fill up the bikes to be ready for the morning lift off. Guess who's bike won't run? Yep...mine! Fuel pump for sure. Tried all the tricks banging on it, key off and on, nothing no noise just nothing. It does get hot though when we try and start the bike up. BTW the bike will run a little until the gas is gone from the carbs. We have been out and about trying to get an after market one. The good stores are closed...ie NAPA etc. So tomorrow AM I am heading the bike shops and see if they have something lying around I can use of hit those other stores. Our Yamaha dealer folded up two months ago...perfect huh.

With a little bit of searching, I found a cooler thermostat that will work like the Napa THM156. Part THM111 for Napa or Stant part number 14157. This is a 170 degree thermostat. Don't be surprised if Napa, Autozone, Advance, Carquest, etc don't have it in stock. Napa had it in one day for me. If you try another local auto parts and they can't locate the part by the number, the vehicle that this comes from is between 1990 - 1994 Subaru Justy. My wife and I are hoping to visit the Napa Valley wine region........and maybe rent a bike to get around on while we're out there. We live in St. Catharines, Ontario, near Niagara Falls.......so we won't be riding all the way out to California. :-) Our plan is to fly in to San Fran and rent a bike there. Just wondering if anyone has done this before/recently and has any recommendations about sources for bikes and/or places to stay......in Frisco and/or out Napa way. Thanks for any help. Mike

hope v7goose is on here. looked up replacement pumps and found the napa posi-flo part # 610-1050 but saw were it had 4-6.5 psi and thought that v7goose said its better to go with the factory spec at 3 psi and not dobule it. i did find a napa pump with part # 610-1051 whis has 3-4.5 psi so is this the better choice??? thanks for your answer.

I checked out the other threads on this plug topic and came up with two plugs. The original NGK-DPR8EA-9 (Napa - $2.29 each, I purchased today) and this plug in a IRIDIUM NGK-DPR8EIX-9 (Napa - $10.00 each). Napa did not recommend the Iridium, when I asked if they knew anything about them. Napa parts person said the Iridium have been known to burn holes or pits in the top of the pistons. I was planning on using the original plugs anyway. So far I have figured out that the tank and dog bones has to be removed to get the plugs out. Any further advise and help in any way here is appreciated. James (Fuzzy)

I have been using the NAPA Gold filter on the RSTD with Shell Rotella 15-40. Good enough for a 500 HP diesel then it must work well in a bike. Same or better SAE values. What is the general concensus on filter brands? I am switching back to K&N oil filters. Always had good luck with them and the Harleys. Or is NAPA (made by Wix) OK?

I searched the site and found this site directed me to this site: http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/FilterXRef.html, I spent some time to print out the list so I would have it handy. I went to Napa when they had there 2for1 sale. and bought some for the shelf. I turns out that the above filter list show that the Napa gold was the same as my wife's Subaru. WOW, now I only have to stock 1 for both on the shelf. No the bad news.... The filter fits but will not seat. The threaded plate on the filter is convexed and does not allow the filter gasket to seat causing a great leak. The Walmart filter I took off was concaved and seated. I went back to Napa and mos of their filters are convexed. A word of warning is not to rely on that site for cross referencing oil filter for the 2 gen. Thanks.

Does anyone have a part no. for a 'substitute' thermostat to fit an '88 Venture. I have read past posts on a NAPA #156 substitute but went to my local NAPA store today and they can't come up with any number like that...the guy tried different number/letter/code combinations but couldn't get anything to come up. Is the OE thermostat 180 degree? And is /was the NAPA 156 the same temp. rating? Appreciate any input anyone has on this. Thanks!

Thanks to A1Bummer for providing this info and the pictures. If you need a new thermostat, there is a Napa #156 and on the Napa box was a #33708 that I was able to cross reference to a Stant #13758 at my local auto parts dealer. A stat at the MC stealer was ~$30 and at the auto parts dealer it was ~$7. All are 180* stats. Thanks, Bill

Hello, Does anyone know the part # or a replacement for the thermostat on a 1996 Royal Star Tour Classic 1300XVZATHC? I have noticed that some are using a NAPA 56 or 56T on some of their bikes but I am not sure if it would fit mine. Thanks

Anyone know what the numbers are for sealed bearings for the front wheel? I dont want to buy new unsealed ones from the local stealer at $40.00 each and I hip I can find some at NAPA that will work. UPDATE: Arrgh I asked this here before, I though it was on that "other" site... anyways, to make this useful for others..... 303SS and 6303S http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/prt,118,303SS -- for the part at rock auto. I just got 2 of them for the price that NAPA wants for 1.

After nursing the UNI-GO home from CharlotteI with a rough souning bearing, replaced the bearings with a set of NAPA 6301-2ZJ bearings, perfect fit. The replacment would be easy, even on the road.

OK, removed the logo from the fairing in order to paint, and now I need to find some black two sided tape to get them stuck back on again. I've checked with NAPA, Kragen Auto, Home Depot and Ace Hardware. No luck ... Anybody????
