Have to do a little upholstering to the seat of the MM Venture I just bought from the insurance company here in Iceland. Can anybody by looking at the pictures tell me if this is a Mustang seat, Corbin, Saddleman and so forth. Need to order some upholstery material from the maker of the seat.

Ok guys and girls EUSA1 and I were discussing the Mustang wide, one piece seat. Best replacement for stock 2002 seat(not pillowtop)? Worth 650 bucks? Anyone got an extra one sitting around I can use for a day or two to try? 650 clams is a lot for a seat that doesn't feel any better than stock for my and my beautiful wife AKA passenger. Your assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated.......that is all

Tropical Storm Beryl is making a beeline for Jacksonville. Guess we were due for a storm eventually. Should make landfall about the time im picking Jean up from work at 9 PM. Eck, if we dont make it, take care of the 99 although you do have to put it together. As far as the Mustang goes, you get the two dogs with it as a package deal........I expect to lose power soon. It already failed once today. SURFS UP!!!!!!

OK, Been riding an 06 tour deluxe with Mustang seat that had integrated backrest. Bought a Midnight Venture with a standard seat. Cant ride but an hour or so before I am really feeling the need to lean back. I like the way the Mustang was adjustable and laid down. What backrest do you have or prefer and why? :feedback: Thanks in advance all. Signed, Old Hurtin' Back

OK i have the oppurtunity to purchase either a Corbin seat with a drivers back rest or a Mustang Seat with a Drivers Backrest. So my question is this, for me I have ridden a mustang seat on my Virago for ten years, yet I am now moving to a 05 RSTD. So my main concern is passenger comfort. Which seat gives the passenger the best support and comfort? My wife and i a not small people so I really need some insite on this so I make the right decision. Thanks Viragofan Soon to be owner of a 05 RSTD

Has anybody tried out the new mustang seat for the venture yet

I hope this isn't off topic. This story really touched me, and I know there are a lot of ex military people here, and a lot of classic car lovers. This story may be of interest to both. This guy is raffling off a 66 Mustang fastback, to help with his bills. The deadline to contribute/enter is tomorrow at noon. http://johnfourniquetcancer.eventbrite.com/

After trying the Butler mod and a $350 rework of the stock seat and a new stock seat and still not satisfied I decided to try Mustang. I ordered the non-studded version with backrest for $670 delivered. They offer a 10 day return policy so I'll be able to try it out thoroughly before I keep it. They had 3 more in stock after my order. I should have it by next Tuesday and I'll provide a review after I've tried it out. Dennis

I had emailed Mustang some months ago to ask about a seat for our 2nd Gen RSV's. What I got back had a tone to it of "we don't offer it and don't want to so don't bother us". Today I got the following email from them... "Venture Owners, Mustang management has decided to offer replacement seats for the Yamaha Venture to answer the demands of our customers. The decision was made only a short time ago, and only one prototype seat has been tried so far. We are still refining the seat and hope to start production before Summer 2010. There will be four separate seats offered. All will be two-person, one-piece seats. Two with chrome studs, two plain, two with built-in driver backrests and two without. We are not yet making seats and are not taking advanced orders for Venture seats. You have received this message because you have asked about Venture seats in the past. You will continue to receive periodic updates from this office whenever new information becomes available. We are not attaching any pictures of the one prototype seat at this time because that design is being changed. As soon as any pictures are made available, you will receive them. Thanks for your interest in our products and for your patience as we develop a comfortable touring seat for your bike. Ike Customer Service"

I purchased a leftover 2008 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe this summer, and love the bike. The Stock seat only lasted a couple of weeks as it was not comfortable for me or my wife. So we decided to try the Mustang seat, better than the stocker but no perfect by any means. I could go 75 miles without any pain, and my wife only about 35 miles. I have a airhawk seat pad she uses on the rear seat and that extends her riding to around 50-60 miles without stopping. After a few months of this setup, I decided to send the seat to Rick Butler for his seat mod on the Mustang seat. At first it seemed better, the wife can go 40-45 miles on this seat without the Airhawk pad, me I can go around 80 miles and my rear starts to hurt. I mean pain not numb rear. So to my questions my other choices are the Corbin, Ultimate seat, or try to find a used seat of a Venture and modify the brackets to work. Who has tried any of the above and what are your impressions?? Can anyone compare any of the above to the Mustang? Does anyone have any pics of the RSTD with the Venture seat on it?? And how is it working out?? Thanks in advance for your help and have a great day. Morgan.

Here's the deal; I WANT to keep my stock seat on my 06 Venture but I WANT passenger armrests built into the passenger backrest. I have considered just ordering the passenger backrest from Corbin but am not sure how mismatched the two materials would look. Has anyone done this. I know Diamond R offers the bolt on's and while they are nice they are not what I'm looking for. I also E-mailed Mustang Seats to ask if they made anythig for the Venture, I got an Email back that said we do not and have no plans to in the future? What gives with that? As always thanks..

after much searching and reading It would appear that I'm shorter than most (5'7" with a 28" inseam). Is there anyone close to my size who has either the Ultimate or Mustang seat and if so, what are your views. I'm also interested to hear what your passengers think of these seats. thanks Greg:97:

I have just purchased a 2008 Royal Star tour deluxe, and just love it. I have been riding for 11 years and my wife has recently taken an interest in riding with me. There is just one problem the rear seat, I am pleased so far with the front. What has worked for other people and there wives?? At this point I would like to just change the rear and am looking at the Corbin or the Mustang. I have had both on other bikes and like the Mustang better myself. So any suggestions?? Thanks in advance for you help. Joelmark.

I've got a mustang seat, plain with the backrest and rear pillion I'm thinking of selling. they're a year old with approximately 9500 miles on it. There all in very good condition with no tears or worn areas. What do you guys think a fair price would be on them. Thanks

After having nightmares and backaches about the OEM seat, an angel sent me a mustang seat with a drivers back rest. It arrived yesterday, immediately put it on removed the passenger seat, sissy bar, windshield and took it up to Virgina City after bundling up I felt the metal inside my thighs and the smoothness of this 4 cyl direct drive machine.. all because this mustang seat moved me up abit and let me be seated in rather than on the bike. I am in love with riding the mountains again I'm 6'2" and this bikes reminds me now why I dropped the KLT and brings me back to the golden olden days of Norton Commando, Airhead but with comfort and reliability L'chaim

I am frustrated with the seating on my 05 RSTD that I am considering an after market with a drivers back rest. I'm 6' 2" with and inseam of 33. I've read that these mustangs push you forward and up a bit. My handlebars almost touch my knees on a turn but I'm supposing I can uplift the handlebars an inch or so. Any experince with Mustang vintage wide with a driver backrest Thanks in advance Nevada Max

Does any of the current Mustang Seats fit on a 2007 Venture if anyone knows please let me know. If not how about everyone jump onto the Mustang Seats Web sight go to contact us and send an e-mail asking when they are going to make a seat for the Ventures. I've had mustang seats on other bikes and really like them (personal preference) As we all know a few thousand e-mails have a tendency to gain the undivided attention of a company so please it will only take a minute or two. Thank You Animal

Ladies recommendation for the pillion seat?
Guest posted a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
We just did a hundred mile ride on my "new" 07 RSTD and my wife was miserable on the stock pillion. A year or so she had in injury to her tailbone and this stock pillion is just not going to cut it. Ladies - what pillion seat do you find comfortable for the Royal Star Tour Deluxe? We just moved from a C-50 Boulevard that I had Mustang seats on - and I had gone to great extremes to make sure we were both comfortable - but I don't want to go the Mustang route with the RSTD. Any recommendation for my lovely wife would be greatly appreciated.. Shep
