I currently own an 89 VR and am very happy with it. I really thought this VR would take me into the sunset for it only has 26,500 miles on it. Then I found a 91 VR with only 6700 miles from the origional owner. I just couldn't pass it up. So I purchased it and plan on transfering all my accessories from the 89 to the 91 and plan on selling the 89 probably spring of 2012 for it will take some time to move all the accessories over. But for the right reasons I could keep both VRs but then that would mean 2 licenses fee, 2 insurance, that is if I plan on riding both. But I do not see why for the 2 are the same bike. I do see many of you have multi MKIs or multi MKIIs, and so I'm courious as to the following questions: 1) Why do you have two of the same make and model and sometimes the same year. 2) What made you initially decide to pick up the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and so on VR. 3) Does all of your VRs acturally run Some answers could be the following 1) Have too much money 2) Picked up the other VR as a parts bike then decided to fix it up. 3) Because they are old and consider Collectables. 4) Only one of my VR runs all the others are parts bike. Please do not limit to the above reasons. Thanks

What type and brand of oil is everyone using in their final drive? Can you use a multi viscosity oil? I had a difficult time finding SAE 80 GL-4.

Hi, I drive a 2004 Midnight Venture and I am looking for a new GPS unit. I have an ten year old Garmin Nuvi 360 but it has too many restrictions. I am looking for something that I can set multi way points with and that can retrace my route. What are you folks using and what do you suggest? Thank you in advance Chris in Red Deer, Alberta

I am not sure if it is a bug, I missed something or I imagined it. I would swear there was a multi quote button in the threads. I switched to the venturerider theme and did not see it when on that theme either.

My dad and I do a lot of riding together. Before I purchased my 2nd gen. Venture, we both used the 2 channel Multi Sport Chatter Box(http://www.chatterboxusa.com/hjc_frs.html). My Chatter Box no longer works and am concidering getting a head set for the Venture. I am still unsure as to what headset to get because I want quality sound from my radio so I will probably have to dish out some coin and get the more expensive J&M headset. My question is can I communicate with a 2 channel Multi Sport Chatter Box using the CB on my Venture? I am by far no electronics expert, but looking in the owners manual for both, the radio frequencies are not compatible. If I cannot communicate with the 2 channel Multi Sport Chatter Box, what alternative do I have? Maybe it will be easier to have my dad purchase a Venture.

Still a lot of snow out here but getting really anxious for spring. I bought an '84 Venture and it didn't have a tool kit. I am putting some tools together (pliers, spark plug wrench, multi tool, etc...) I wonder if anyone has experience with "on the road" issues and could point to any particular tool or item I should keep in my tool kit.

:sign **** happens: Any one have a long haul first gen specific toolkit that has proved to be adequate over the years and I dont need to pull a trailer for? Have the original factory kit but wish to supplement. Anyone filled a tire from an engine cylinder after plugging, or what works best? Canned air maybe? Any new multi purpose tools, gadgets carried for the dreaded event? Any specific electrical items other than the standard spare wire, connectors, tape, maybe multi meter etc carried? I know, I know I worry too much! Just humor me please.
